On the off-chance that you're serious, let me just say that's hell you're walking into.
Second, to answer your question, you'll need to either buy fuel or spend a whole year doing all the dailies to have enough free fuel. Since you're new, the latter is out.
And you're gonna have to buy a lot, since Mobius is popular.
520 fuel is what took me last year. You might need more if you have no good planes to MVP with.
I saw a piston room stuck on 3/4 forever, so I joined, even though I knew I would probably completely destroy them.
Had to hold off on the last target, and hope the enemy would take it so I wouldn't get the confirmation kill, but it was completely worthwhile.

Only Mobius 2 is 800 cost. 3 and 4 are 775 cost, and 5-8 are 750 (and not even Raptors, for that matter).
It is pretty nice of them to give out an 800 cost plane for the top 2000, though. Not that weird since plenty of people have Pixy Eagles, though, and it's 800 cost now. Didn't even have to win a tournament for that one.

It shouldn't be that expensive since the only reason to break top 300 is for bragging rights for a plane that will still never be used (and for the million cash prize). Mobius 2 is the more appealing and affordable alternative, seeing as how Mobius 1 didn't get boosted to 875 and should still be in the same damage bracket, unless PA made an exception out of it.

Another tourney I won't be fighting in.
Basically I only compete for Ace Combat Zero tourneys, and I don't see anything else Zero related coming in the future, save for a possible mercenary Cipher plane (Draken was soldier, X-02 was Knight), a Silber Skin (or maybe even SP Plane, but that's pushing my luck).
Imagine if every single squadron in AC0 came back as SP Planes. WITH ONE PLANE FOR EVERY PILOT.

Just for curiosity, I decided to estimate how much Mobius 1 could cost.
For reference. last time we had Mobius, which BTW was the biggest ACI tourney EVER, it was 837k for top 300.
Assuming you do ok and average 1.2k points per fuel, and get all your 6 sorties done in the 14 days of the tourney:
837/1.2
697.5 fuels -> round up to 700 for safety
14 days x 6 supplied = 84
616 stocks.
Even assuming you get 1 stock back every 5 fuels you spend, you are still looking at about 500 stocks. *

Well, when it comes to handicaps, there is this rule:
1. Everything below 450 deals at least 450 tier damage(F-20 is handicapped to hit at 500). That means that Phantom, at base 350, has 2 tiers of handicap.
2. 775 always gets handicapped to 750 tier. So Getting boosted from 750 to 775 doesn't help your damage (eg. Yellow 13, Talisman).
3.Planes ABOVE 800 get one tier of handicap. This means that if you want to go past the 800 damage tier, you actually have to go all the way to 875, the realm of Special Snowflake Supergoy planes.

Considering how many weapons are considered much more useless on multiroles, even on high tier I don't think you'd be right.
UGB,LAGM,4AGM,FAEB probably wouldn't be strong enough to take out some yellows, and weapons like SFFS, SOD or RKTL would need a good concentration in order to do good damage. Those 3 and GPB would probably be the only ones worth using. No opinion on LACM since I've never used it.

MiG-35D, yes or no? Never bothered with Fighters aside from a bit of experimenting with the MiG-29A -DN-, the Typhoon -MK- and the ADF-01 -OS-. Aside from those, I only have the ATD-0 -NY and F-22A -HR- for specials. I think my only leveled non-SP fighters are the F-16C, and F-14 A and D all at level 5.And my Me 109 at level 7.

It's one of the highest tier 6AAM boats available on the tree, which is either a plus or a minus depending on your views on the meta.
If you don't want to use 6AAM you have HPAA which is pretty nice and SAAM which is pretty gimmicky.
I'm pretty sure the skin is still in the shop, so even if you're not sure you want it nab it while it's up. It's not like there's anything better to spend tickets on.

6AAM is usually the preferred weapon of those who can't maneuver, and only know how to use the circle button.
It can clean up all those oranges you don't want to waste your standard missiles on (meant for juicy reds). And if you are not halfway retarded, you can use it to 2hit hard reds, meaning you get potential for 3 RED kills out of a single volley, with the addition of range that matches HVAA, which gives you options for kills if you happen to become stranded with nothing near you for some reason.

People resent it because it's overpowered to the point that it takes no skill to use. It's kind of like how people used to freak out about pre-nerf LAGM/UGB/SFFS. Morons who can't fly worth a damn can just pump fuel into it, get a 2000+ cst Wyvern and shit all over the map without breaking a sweat. Some people see it as poor balancing and not only don't use it but also judge those who do. Someone with skill and a good plane can get a leg up over someone using 6AAM (especially since a good portion of them are morons who know they can't fly and flock to the most overpowered piece plane they can find to compensate), but between two people with even skill and plane tiers the 6AAM user will dominate by a longshot, every time. Anti-meta sentiment was as far as I know mostly concentrated on /aceg/ anyway and even nowadays people don’t seem to give as much of a shit, and it’s not like you’ll be judged by the whales and nuggets who make up 99% of the game’s playerbase. Anti-meta is all about waving your dick about how good you are but if your primary objective is to have fun, at the end of the day it’s just a game.
The Dragon will also requires forms to go beyond level 10, if that factors into your decision at all.

6AAM is basically the go-to A2A weapon. Cleans up oranges good, capable of 2-shotting reds. With a 725cst Fighter like the MiG-35, you only need Warhead S to make it capable of doing these.
People don't like it because it's a pretty easy way to clean up a furball, similar to how FAEB cleans up the ground in an instant while having an ultra-fast reload and a giant area of effect. Compared to that however, 6AAM is a bit more balanced as it takes fucking forever to reload, and if the targets decide they don't want to fly in a straight line, well, you're not gonna have a good result in that game.
Is just my opinion, but if you want to go 6AAM, a Fighter is the only way. With Multiroles, you have to delve into 'holy shit I'm not paying this price' territory to get it capable of one-shotting reds with standard missiles, while a high-cst Fighter has no such qualms. If you miss with 6AAM, being able to plow them one missile at a time instead of two for one is an obvious boon to still managing a good score.

Yep, that's exactly right. It's stupid because if you want a lower tier aircraft like the Rafaels you're going to not only going to have to fight to get up there but you'll have to manage your fuel to keep low enough on the charts as well.
It's not just that, having a fuckton of variants of a single aircraft is stupid. I can get having a lower level Mobius F-22 to make it easier to get, but what's the point of having 4 of them? Even if they do have different stats it's not going to be enough for someone to say "I want Top 300 but NOT Top 1000 because I really need that Mobius 3!". Same with the multiple Typhoons and Rafaels. Just pick one you dumb fucks.
Everything about this tourney looks geared to cultivate Goy 2.0. Mobius is my favorite ace but there's no way I'm shelling out stocked for this farce.

What do you mean by "reserve"? Are you talking about rental sets? Those aren't always available (they're usually only put out for a tourney that is restricted to certain aircraft not everyone may have) but they are usually better than beginner builds available to nuggets. If you are using them make sure you're taking advantage of research on the tree though, because rental sets will never be able to compare to a plane you've put personal investment into.

Sadly non-existent, Ace. My main plane is at 11, and while I was halfway to getting it to 12, I ditched my Idol Typhoon to spend all my credits on a standard MiG-35D. With that done, I am unsure if I'll fly my ECM plane anymore in general, so I'm down to my primaries - 11 F/A-18 Super Hornet, 6 Su-47 -BD-, and the MiG-35D. Growler is level 4ish I think, for reference. Only using supplied fuel makes saving up without the occasional credit binging quite difficult for me.

I tried the demo, it feels pretty fucking tight so far
only problems I had were with deadzones (not big enough for my 360 controller), gameplay felt a tiny bit slow and using L3 instead of RB+LB for g-turn was kinda clunky
even in its current form I'd probably have a ton of fun with it if it had all the variety of an AC game

I've gotta say it's my Hornet. I tricked it out during the Ring Battle phase, and I speced it for mobility above everything else. It's fast, it's mobile, it moves like a dream, and it handles better than most of my super planes do at the moment. I think it's mostly the fact that those Ring battles helped me really get a feel for the limits of its mobility too, so it feels natural and easy to me now.

About PSVR and AC7, I just realized something. Remember the cockpit view in previous AC games ? We used to have the field-of-view to left-right-up, but no full downwards. Also when using side-by-side seats like in the Su-34 we couldnt see the co-pilot ? I think for the sake of VR immersion, in AC7 we may be able to see downwards so we can see the entire cockpit, including the "stick of joy" and our arms and legs. And perhaps we may also see our co-pilot when flying Su-34, EA-6B, or anything with similar seat model
