What do you think of Egg Robo as a character? As in going from standard mook to taking Eggman's place as the better than Eggman boss fights to finally being murdered in the end? (Did Mecha Sonic kill the flicky too or...?)
I think this dynamic was attempted in Sonic Heroes, but goes back all the way to the original classic series.

Depends on which iteration. It's been bad at least twice (everything burning because of the Iblis or Ifrit), but in the DS version of Colors he said everything was fine.
The current comic canon gave us Onyx City, a dystopian future ruled by a jerkass City Council. It was nearly wrecked by the Council's Genesis Portal shenanigans.

I'm not sure I agree about them being prototype Egg Pawns either. The E-1000 Series onward primarily consists of mass produced units designed to be cheap and easy to build (which is why there are so many variants), whereas EggRobos (created at a time where Eggman most likely built most of his robots by hand) were more specialized units. I imagine the doc stopped using animals because it became too costly for him.

What's the appeal in the Archie comics? Sonic is basically like my entire childhood and shit (SA2B was the first video game I ever owned) so a few days ago I thought to myself "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if Sonic had an actual deep story to it?" so I checked out the Archie comics.

Where did you start? If you want to see what all the fuss is about, either start at 160 (start of Ian Flynn's run) or 252 (Start of the current continuity). Though I personally recommend starting at #1 and going all the way through for the full experience and using pic related as a guide

So, last time we went classic mode we got Sonic 4, which wasn't THAT bad but it could have been something much better.
And then classic Sonic in generations, I'd have played a whole game with that, just longer.
I feel that we're gonna get a fairly easy game with no story and no new interesting characters, only Sonic playable, possibly Tails, and possibly some awesome music.
Who knows, maybe it'll be GOTY and Chao Garden comes back and they have an intertwining story and the difficulty is ramped up to 11, but it's wishful thinking on my part.

Neph would probably be a cool, fair mom. Loves her kids, and would try her best to distance them from their father.
Clove would likely be a protective mother, but nowhere near as crazy as Thunderbolt. Not sure if Cassia would/could have kids, on account of her illness.

I've noticed a trend with the reboot that there's more of a gender balance with the Egg bosses, and if that was indeed on purpose, then the last Egg boss could very well be female (Cassia is technically not counted as an Egg Boss if the solicits to part 4 of Eggman's Dozen are true and the 12th one hasn't been revealed)
