So I've come to realise that the way to make currency in this game is to die like an idiot and re-level. I don't know if the over-levelled penalty on currency drops is as big as it feels but it feels huge.

What happens tough on HC is that people slow their clear speeds down at high levels. When you are leveling with goty lvling gear, you are clearing areas fast as fuck, and most people start slowing down because they are afraid of death the further they get.
Im getting more currency drops at T1 maps with a lvl 84 char than i did ever while leveling. But then again, i clear those maps under 5 minutes if i dont backtrack.

I have a new pc that can run TW 3 without noticable frame drops on high(not maxed), and in poe the game shits itself whenever i hit a lot of mobs or a few too many effects go off.
Sure, spamming a skill on my own wont cause a noticable dip in fps, but hit a few mobs with it and the fps goes to the shitter.

Alch anything you can run without having to reroll with chaos. Generally anything between t4-t7, if I have a build that can run almost any mod I'll start alching at t5. Chiseling t8+.
With that said, there are no set rules to using currency on maps. It's something you'll have to get a feel for.

Hailrake
This fight is a tad harder than the Hillock one. Hailrake moves faster, and uses Glacial Cascade. On top of that, he's accompanied by a bunch of Cannibals. Fireball will make short work of the cannibals. But it's very important that you stay on the move. It's best to circle around Hailrake since his Glacial Cascade travels in a straight line. Use flasks to regain missing health, and keep firing fireballs to the guy. He will fall once you hit him enough.

I recently upgraded my computer. I can run Witcher 3 on Ultra with hairworks off at a stable 60fps.
I go into a map using Bladefall and 2 friends that are using Firestorm and Icestorm. When we all attack a group of mobs I go down to 30-45fps, some groups will drop me down to 25ish.
A fracture map will drop me to 15-22 fps, strongboxes in those maps getting me to almost single digits or crashing.
We did an Actons Nightmare and anytime we walked more that a few character widths away from each other we would all freeze up for at least a second, we wernt even attacking and we were still on each others screens.
So yes, I actually believe this because i experience it on a daily basis with a computer that shouldnt have a single problem with the game.

This largely occurs because because of overdraw (a single pixel has to be re rendered multiple times to account for transparency). Poe uses alot of transparency, its why its worst on skills like firestorm and discharge which have huge overlapping projectiles. If you have 8 firestorms poe might have to render patches of the screen 10-12 times which slows things down.
Afaik blizzard avoids this by basically using less transperancy and only using 1bit transparency.

Ball Lightning was the first time I encountered the game loading spell casts by party members when you visit areas they went to.
I dont know why the game does this, but it happens with most spells now. If we split up and I catch up to somebody I will load and hear every single cast they did. This generally results in some freezing or extremely low framerates.

You can get about 10-14 days out of it if you get a group of friends together and push grifts though.
After thats over you just have to get through February before Ascendancy comes out, luckily February is filled with game releases if youre into rpgs. Xcom 2, Tales of Symphonia, Fire Emblem Fates, and Disgaea being released within 2 weeks of each other has me pretty excited.

With this the most important item for literally every single character build is their weapon. High attack speed low base damage weapons are now useless. One of the strong suits for spellcasters is partial gear independence, so if you get fucked for drops, you're not forced to find something better.

All way up until you hit a grift wall at around grift 50 it is pretty damnfun. After that, it's a mega autistic grind. But yeah, it doesn't last very long and it exposes the crippling limitations of how simplified the game is. It's really not much different from PoE tho. The only reason why mapping doesn't get boring even faster is because of being forced to play the game three times before mapping. PoE is also horribly simplified, with a bunch of convoluted systems which can be reduced down just as easily as D3's.
Diablo 2 remains as the only shining example in the genre. Some will contend Diablo 1 and I won't argue so don't bother.
I have a feeling blizzard developers are very spiteful. If the fans keep complaining about the systems being simplified they'll just come up with more horribly convoluted systems that nobody really enjoys and they say "we told you so" when anybody who understood how Diablo 2 worked could fix the entire game in a day.

Melee is a meme and always was a meme. People only play melee when GGG decides to gut mages.
Melee damage in entirely based on rng, unless you drop a 350+ dps one hand or a 550+ dps two hand weapon, mages will always be better.
