Completed the game. It was decent. Combat was fun.
It felt likeworsePersona. In Persona, I actually felt motivated to try and get on good side of demons to get their cards. In undertale, I didn't care about monsters. Fat skele was ok and because of him I spared his brother. At least undertale had interactions that had impact on story.
The explanation of acronym's was pretty nicely handled. Though, I did not feel bad. It was like, 'yep, it sums me up pretty rightfully...from MONSTER'S perspective'. But for fuck's sake, I'm human and I'm type that won't go first out of his way to look for peacefull resolve. Both sides were assholes.

The game tried to take narration of MC being badguy and mosnter's protecting themselves, good idea, but why was it portrayed as bad thing? I guess, 'pacifist' run or w/e is called, is protrayed as 'good' ending. There are games with better narration as you being completely mad bad guy.

I'm only two paragraphs into this but I'm already surprised at how not-bad this is turning out.
Heya guys. I made a thing two threads back and got mostly positive responses.
I've so far gotten this chart down to only 2 major problems that people see.
Notably Alphys being True Neutral and Mettaton being Lawful evil. My reasons for such as are follows:
Alphys in general is a very passive character. You cant even kill her in Genocide. She indirectly gets in your way a lot, then directly "helps" you get out of those road blocks (even though she put you in there in the first place.)
She's not entirely self serving which disbarred me from placing her in Chaotic. She more or less does what Asgore asks of her, even with horrible results. Though I couldn't really put her in lawful either, because she never told Asgore about her progress, she never told anyone. She was incredibly internal and couldn't bring herself to move forward or go backwards. She was stuck mentally.
She could end up being your friend later, but her apologies for "doing disgusting things to you" come incredibly late into her story arc, AFTER you've already killed Asgore at least once. YOU'RE LATE, BITCH.
Anyway. True Neutral isn't EXACTLY perfect, but I couldn't exactly put her anywhere else. The other option was to just not use her at all and put Frisk in True Neutral, but that's boring.

Digesting his actions, words, and ending, it becomes very apparent that he is incredibly self serving for the sake of a kind of Personal Kingdom.
His ending is essentially him enslaving the entire underground, with or without Papyrus/+Sans, who become his assistants, and tell you that people who deny Mettaton's empire disappear.
I am not convinced by his whole speech about "destroying humanity." His entire motivation for fighting you was for ratings. If you're a murderer, he just wants an audience: If you kill the monsters, he'll just take up the humans instead. He literally doesn't care.

Alignments are generalizations. A lawful good character and end up in a position where they're influenced into compromising their personal morals while still staying lawful good. This is the crux of the "lawful vs. good" conflict, where a lawful good character is forced to choose between a lawful but nongood course of action and a good but nonlawful course of action. Asgore isn't lawful neutral, he's lawful good but conflicted.
Remember too, not all lawful good characters are paladins.

A good idea of what a Lawful Good character would be Superman or Captain America or something.
Both characters where something happened in their canon to make them enemies of the states at least once. Does that make them Chaotic? No, the issues lied with the state, not them.
Being lawful is not necessarily the character agreeing without compromise with the majority, it's just maintaining stability. Enforcing older laws that worked instead of maintaining new ones that cause instability. Fixing a broken system for example.
If the laws change around that character and they eventually attack those laws, that doesn't make them Chaotic.

A lot of people are understating how much Asgore did to mitigate his actions:
- Only killed humans who were fucked anyway, since none of them could have left without killing a boss monster and stealing their soul
- Knew very well he could've left the barrier and murdered humans whenever, but didn't
- Ordered research into soul power in the hopes of breaking down the barrier without having to kill more humans
Asgore did what he believed to be the least evil course of action while still benefiting his people.

I was going to put Undyne in my list back where I put Asgore: Lawful Neutral.
In my opinion, she is a paragon of that role, as she serves her monarch without question. Doing good when she can, and when she's asked to kill, she does so without mercy. She is not evil, but she is determined and uncorruptable. No amount of conversation or begging will tear her from her target.
Also I consider Toriel to be Chaotic, as she left her kingdom when it needed her most. She's also a good character.
Sans as Chaotic Neutral is rather... off to me.

Why would it need to hold up in court? Chara went to get the souls, Asriel stopped them from being able to fight back once the fighting began, Asriel died because of it. If he did nothing, he'd have lived. Its his fault he died.

Frisk sees Chara's memories at various points in the game, pretty sure there's a reason for that.
But remember that Undyne spearheads a rebellion against Toriel if you fail to befriend her before Asgore. That's a very Chaotic Good thing to do there.
When Asgore declared war on the humans, Toriel packed up and left because she would not concent to being part of murder. She follows her own code of good, rather than the laws of the Kingdom of Monsters.
Sans is... not really motivated to give a shit about you. He's supposed to be on watch for humans but he doesn't care. He's only forced to act when you are feet from Asgore's throne room and even then his appearance is half-assed by his own admission.
