I usually run with Eyes, but I made it to the Palace once with Crystal during a weekly run. I was not ready at all. YV is considered the most powerful character in the game, if you play your cards right, so I recommend him.

Have you tried fighting them? Use firebombs if you have any. If you can't win, try reloading to an earlier save or just give them your mags. Don't worry, it's not the last time the game screws you out of your possessions so don't become too attached to them.
As a side note, DON'T try buying items until you have no mags to give. They'll know and they'll still fuck your shit up.

Every single party member is fucking great to have around.Except Garth.Use whoever you find to be the most fun. I recommend making use of movesets that work well together, like Fire and Oil types. Either way, Brad will continually be OP as all fuck throughout the game. When the time comes, abuse wrestling and level your shit up.

Why the hell not.
I've been playing a surprsising amount of Brigador since it came out (over 50 hours atm).
It's an isometric vehicle shooter (pic related). It's still in EA and some core systems aren't implemented yet, but it's a ton of fun. Gameplay is somewhere in-between Hotline Miami and Future Cop I guess, not as fast as the former but less clunky than the latter. There's directional armour, rechargeable shields and non-regainable health. The environment is pretty much entirely destructible (only level walls aren't) and there's a nice penetration system for it, too. Weapons and vehicles are pretty varied so far, and feel pretty good for the most part.
Now, I gotta admit that the most time I got out of this game is by modding. You can change a lot of stuff in-game via the dev console, and even more in the files (no coding skills required though). E.g., there's currently 9 player vehicles in the game, but 123 in the gamefiles. You can make them all playable easily (though they're obviously all WIP). You can also modify every asset in the game, and people have already made their own weapons.I also think I got a MEGA link somewhere if anyone here's interested

I have read that you need to have 1 health to trigger them, but it didn't work for the palace when I tried it, It did work for the other stages. I also heard it when I did a weekly and reached the scrap yard with a good amount of health.

It might take a few tries, but try to chuck at least a couple of firebombs at them. Also, Terry has an ability that can make enemies pissed off. When enemies are pissed off, they have a chance to attack their own party members for a lot of damage (or attack you, but at this point, most of them can one or two hit KO you guys anyways.)
Sometimes the one on the far left (your left not their left) will just get confused, so you can focus on the other guys instead.

If you want to keep Terry around, bring Birdie when you get him. With his oil spit ability, Terry's hot dance will do about as much damage as Brad.
Fly is a popular party member since he can inflict a lot of stattii, and Nern is good if you use abilities that cost a lot of TP/SP (also, since he can heal on top of all that, he can keep you topped off so you can avoid having to use campfires.)

The story for the Midnight Animal mod takes place some time in the modern day (roughly between 2013 and 2016, with the supposition that following the nuclear exchange at the end of HM2, support for Fifty Blessings skyrocketed due to anti-Soviet sentiment and the world more or less split in two along the axis of America vs Russia. Fifty Blessings has become a national presence with a similar function to the Patriots in MGS if you're familiar with that, and they control most of the society through political manipulation and the engineering of social upheavals like riots and assassinations in order to keep America in check. The main character is an executive in their corporate branch who moonlights as a cleaner, who fixes the failed operations of other operatives.

Where the mod stands right now
The gameplay has been largely finished and is relatively stable. In terms of gameplay, all the programming that's left is just adding new features (weapons, masks, enemies), and is not difficult, just a bit time-consuming.
Level design is progressing well, and goes relatively quickly in terms of building the actual levels. Gameplay levels will be prioritised first, and then transition levels. The most difficult part of this is enemy placement, and creating a good level that plays enjoyably and is stable for every single mask. The levels are about a quarter done, but only because of a considerable lack of time in the past several months due to school and such.
The most time-consuming part is spriting; fortunately, I have several rather capable spriters from r/HotlineMiami assisting me, so progress is slow but steady. Masks and NPCs are largely unsprited for the most part, as well as animations for executions; the last one is the most important one in terms of progress, as without the proper animations, I can't actually code the executions.
Things to be done
Script in dialogue, world interaction, NPCs, pretty much all story elements.
Add in new weapons, including executions (crossed out ones have already been finished).
Any similarities with HM2 in terms of weapons are indeed the weapons from HM2.
Otherwise, any weapons that are not listed should be assumed to carry over from Hotline Miami (the first game).

I just had my first encounter with The Collector actually. It was a party of Hellion, Man at Arms, Highway man and a Vestal. All level 0 except or Dismas, who was at 1.
Just how hard can a Collector screw you over? He and most of the heads he summoned wasted every turn they got, managed to win the battle pretty much unscathed.

I think most annoying if if he summons multiple highwayman. The last time I found him, he summoned three vestals, so I focused fire on him, and had a MaA spam bellow. Sometimes the vestals would heal or buff the collector, but most of the time they wasted turns just healing each other, so I was able to kill the collector and mop up the remaining vestals.
