if you're using a shorter weapon you're more likely to hit with the tip in the siege blob, which means you'll hit harder

Attacks can randomly go through blocks with reduced damage IIRC. The crush through chances increases if the weapon weight is higher than the blocking item's weight.

It looks at your str and opponents str
It looks at weight of each weapon (or shield)
It looks at profecencies and how long you were readying the weapon.
So if you don't hold your strike, you will have minimal chance, and attacking with small delay (1.2 secs or so) give you most chance to crush through block, holding anything longer will nulify that bonus but still be better than swinging without holding.
Also, crush through block only works for a overhead swing, otherwise you are likely to "stun" enemy (unable to attack right away, you probably had that happen to you)

There is no "map". There's only 2 locations tho. If it's in Rane, take the first left after you enter the city and at the end of the street there's a hay pile on your right covering the chest. If it's Valonbray, it's on the first boat to your right.
