Which class has the best story on the Republic side?
I'm currently playing an Operative and a Juggernaut, and I thought I might try out a Republic class once I'm done with these stories. Trooper and Consular are more appealing because I haven't played the Empire equivalents, but I've heard their stories are kinda lame.
Will Jedi/Smuggler feel different enough if I go down a different advanced class?

Jedi sentinel vs guardian will feel very similar. The two smuggler advanced classes are very different though.

Jedi Knight is one of the most fleshed out stories in the game with Smuggler as probably the 2nd best overall story.

Even the original story was kinda bad in that regard. I hated seeing the bounty hunter take on powerful force-users without using any kind of special gadgets to close the powergap between them. Kills my immersion.

Well they aren't as OP as they once were. But if you are gud you can kind of do 1 vs 4 on PVE servers. Best dueling class right now as it has been the past few expansions. Assassins coming close second due to their dcds.

I wasn't really big on Han solo as much as jedi or sith or bounty hunters growing up, I think. If the party member bantz is worth it then I can reconsider it. I dunno how much group play I'd do but the healing of smuggler is appealing, as is the whole cover mechanic.

Smuggler doesn't have the strongest companion lineup. You essentially have to like Risha and/or Akaavi and tolerate Corso as he's kind of an Alistair clone without the redeeming qualities. The wookie is the all around safe companion.

Depends on what you want to do. I guess all companion affection character perks are required for each character. Legacy of crafting if you have several level 50 influence companions and do crafting. Quick travel to daily areas are also nice but not necessary.
As for legacy unlocks pretty much every convenience unlock (except tactical markers) and most ship unlocks although some unlocks have been made redundant with strongholds.

I was able to get depth of field effects to kinda work with this game. The depth buffer seems super weird, but it kind of works.
If you zoom in super far into your character's face they get a noticeably different depth buffer value than the background, and the skybox/skybox elements have lighter shades than, say, something you can walk to.

You were locked in a station with seemingly no way out. The dialog, journal entries, and even the setting itself really made it seem like escape was impossible and hopeless. In contrast to the rest of the game and most of the first one there are very few people on the station to interact with, so it felt far more claustrophobic.
You moved around the station trying to find some sort of means to exit this abandoned station on lockdown, and it paid off completely when you did eventually find a way out.

I just happen to have the best hardware money can buy for gaymen. Triple Titan X, best performing Intel processor, 64 gig RAM dual intel 750 in RAID 0. I can ´pretty much run any next gen game with ultra graphics settings and never dip below 60 fps.

There are like 7 servers per region and about 2 of them are functionally dead. Ghostlands and jung ma.
The Harbinger is very active and I would say that if you enjoy the old republic era of star wars it is definitely worth looking at. The class stories are pretty solid for the most part. 1-50 being the original leveling range only takes about 40 hours to finish, probably more like 25 hours now with the double xp going on.
So basically you can treat it as a single player RPG with other people walking around.

KotFE looks like the ending of SWTOR, to be honest. The Empire and Republic, Sith and Jedi, finally working together, coexisting. If they ever had a window to end this time period, this expansion would be it.
