As for sprites, Doom prefers to work with 8 angles, but you can technically do 4 if you don't mind duplicating two opposite facings (so you effectively have dummy sprites for those angles). It's not really an elegant solution, though, but it looks okay at best.

job setup time and job difficulty are inversely proportional. Science has their five minute R&D setup, medbay is sitting at 2-3 minutes for cryo, Engineering/sec takes as long as you need to get geared up.
Science has no time requirements on their job, you can honestly play with the wiki up as a guide and refer to it as often as needed.
Medbay requires a bit of basic mechanical memorization (what fixes what ailment), and time has no meaning if you've got the biomass.
Engineering (I include atmos in this) is all knowledge: how to build engines and pipes. It's pure autism. No wiki guide or tutorial will help you here, except to learn the basics.
Sec has the gameplay knowledge requirement, """skill""" if you prefer. Unlike engineering though, Sec is as difficult as the opposing greytide is robust. So not very.

TG is basically leddit; the server. It's also complete dogshit if you want to do anything other than validhunt. No gimmicks, no random fun shit, just validz, all day every day. There's not even a premise of arrrrrpee there, really.
/vg/ is light RP, and while there's certainly plenty of validhunting, the gameplay doesn't consist entirely of it, and there's actually room for people to do fun shit on occasion. Along with that, /vg/ is sort of whitelisted since the bunker is more or less up all the time, therefore preventing new shitters and ledditors/fags from bay12 from joining.
Also, /tg/ has to deal with goof, while we do not.

Humans are already enormously complex. Just handling your metabolism is an entire file of complexshittycode. On top of that, you have to handle inventory slots, speech, movement, eating, dying, breathing, and a number of other things. Our inventory system isn't modular, either, so you'd have to recode everything just to add or remove a single arm.
It's easier to just base it off of humans, both for coding, and for spriting purposes.
Admins, I get that you're trying to follow the rules but sometimes they don't apply when you have a broken round. Xenos taking complete control of the station is a broken round. That's not the time for bureaucracy like "They never issued a code red so now we sit in limbo." That's the time to come up with a creative solution that will end the round and satisfy everyone. Of all the whacky bullshit shenanigansthat I lovethat the admins pull it's fucking weird that stepping into this situation is where you draw the line. Xenos were trying to save people and drag them to the shuttle console just to finally end it.

I remember it being just one random sentinel wanting to do that. I was completely fine with having a xeno station but of course sending in a death squad is the norm for situations when the whole station gets taken. (didn't happen this time around)
The shuttle was also called by an admin just to end it.
There was a round the day before which was similar to what happened today. Celt had everyone retreat to cargo and fortify the area while xenos lashed out, dragging people into the darkness as the victim's compatriots try to desperately shoot down the xeno but to no avail. Everyone escaped via cargo shuttle once it arrived.
It isn't really up to us in changing how xenos play out, unless you think calling in the death squad with the overkill horror that is the pulse rifle whenever xenos show up a great idea. You need to find someone crazy enough to fiddle with xenocode for it to meet conditions for SMELELEL.
Personally I don't think xenos need too much fiddling.

I am seriously sorry to every one. I got so tunneled visioned on trying to revive people I didnt even read chat and only saw blood loss. Why it hurts me so bad is I know what husks look like so I should know as well as anyone what to do.
