So I've reached the final save point in Raidou 1 but I'm going to go back and finish up the side things like Alice and Beelzebub and shit. I'm planning on doing NG+ but I wonder if I should do it on Hard Mode. Normal NG+ would be too easy I feel but from what I'm reading about Hard Mode it just seems like bullshit rather than actually making things hard in an interesting way. To those who have played Raidou on Hard Mode, should I even bother if I'm wanting to get 100% completion? By my standards that's full compendium, all optional bosses, and maxed out store inventories.

SMT IV is brutally and perhaps unfairly hard at first. It softens up after the first hour or so. Abuse the save-anywhere feature early on.

You might wanna leave before spoilers get posted, but the basics are:
A) Don't grind, mulching up multiple old demons to make single new demons is the way to get stronger demons. Don't expect to stick with the same demons for a lot of the game.
B) Elemental weaknesses aren't just a bonus, they're the main way to play. You can continue attacking and prevent the enemies from taking a turn if you do, and you really want to since they tend to do a lot of damage if they get a chance to hit you.
People will complain that it's really hard at first, but it's fine if you keep you play strategically.

I find funny that in DDS 1 would make sense to have a GO if Serph dies given he is the leader and his dead is an objective of the other tribes.
As for DD2, a little spoilerSerph and Sera will merge so the skills they learned will go to one character so make Sera learn other skills diferent from Serph for a better result.

In general the franchise is liked for being difficult, but IV is relatively easy compared to most of the other games.
People complain that it starts hard, though, but I've never personally felt that way.
If you're used to Turn Based RPGs then really the only thing I can stress is don't let the enemies get hits in like most other games.
In most Megaten games some foes only need a single turn to wipe you out, and you have options to keep them from attacking.
Get crits or weakness hits.
Less important, but remember that your friends will always be with you no matter what.
They're a big help and really charming too, so get extra attached to them for the best story, since it tends to branch depending on how you interact with them.
On that note you should also probably steer clear of these threads for a bit since spoilers are like the most posted things here.

So I have a question for you guys. I just got to the point in SMT Strange Journey that I have access to a Demon Source with Luster Candy on it. I decided to test something out and fused Luster Candy onto a Mitama but test-fusing only passed it down to like two or three demons in my roster.
Is there a more reliable way to keep passing Luster Candy around?

Is there a better area or method to grind EXP in Raidou 1? I'm grinding levels to get to the point where I can fight Alice and Beelzebub and then fuse them. I'm doing it around the second to last save point in the final dungeon and I feel like I'm going too slow.
By the way, is it a good idea to buy and sell the same stuff over and over again to raise my shop level before I go into NG+? Does that even work? I doubt I'm going to be buying much in the next playthrough since it'll be in Hard mode and the prices will be crazy.
