When the fuck are we getting a real data mine instead of random fucking people leaking random shit. Most people want a power trip, I don't blame them for that of course it's a singleplayer game, play how you want, but I find having 100 stims and 3000 bullets with a gun that can kill Swan in 3 hits boring as fuck.

To me, the idea of an RPG is that you play a character that has nothing set in stone beyond setting up a basic scenario.
You cannot become a master of all trades, and must specialize your character (which is further enhanced if you RP your character)

I played through it once unmodded, /fog/. Now I'm going to do my second play-through, and I want to mod it properly. I've never done modding outside the Steam Workshop. Could you guys recommend some mods and maybe a couple of pointers? I don't want to do stupidly overpowered shit, but the UI needed some tweaking, and maybe some lower-end graphics overhauling would be nice.

Agreed on perks. Also, I like my numbers-boosting perks and my utility perks separate (no more 2-for-1 with sneaking and trap immunity, for example). But if you really did that to the extent I'm thinking, you'd need more overall perk points, not less.
Agree with deal a lot more damage (at high levels, it's really okay as is until about level 20), don't know if you meant "take a lot less damage" or what you typed-- I think the player should be fairly fragile, sort of like low-level play already is.
Back to SPECIAL: I think that if you're going to have 1-10 scale points, and if you follow those suggestions and fix them to start, maybe make it harder to get stat boosts, etc., you should also make each point have a broader effect on things. This would be a lot easier with New Vegas dialogue, but you could add a lot of constant effects of your attributes without.

Project Nevada really had it down. Your HP was based on your END * 10 + your level * 1, rather than END*20 and level * 5. You should be more fragile, and enemies too. It wouldn't actually be all that tough to do in CK, it's tied to a specific value.
On the other hand, new perks are hard. Tying new SPECIAL points to a specific perk, like how its always been, is the best way.

Even at max big guns, its 24 damage per bullet with tri-barrel. Thats like 185 attack speed. While faster than the average gun, at 24 damage per bullet, a 110 speed assault rifle with 0 perks can still do 64 damage per bullet or some shit.

Not really. I haven't done the Railroad ending, but the Brotherhood pretty much wind up annexing the Commonwealth by forcing the farmers to provide them with food while the institute just keeps its "no direct contact" policy going.
It pisses me off mostly because on my first playthrough, I went BoS. Then, I heard that the institute wasn't out to destroy the commonwealth, and I thought it was kind of dickish to blow them up as the BoS, so I decided to try an institute run. To be honest... Yes. Having been to Hawaii and seeing how beautiful it was, I'd had to see it all scorched by nuclear fire.
Not to mention the shear and steep mountains would look downright hideous and bland with even as little as a tenth of their vegetation missing.

The desire to connect with the outside world sends a NCR/BoS/whatever boat out to Hawaii, and maybe you get shipwrecked and have to work on how you connect this isolated country to the rest of the world (or maybe what's left of China has done the same, since it's much closer than American mainland). Or we can go vault dweller in a new land direction. Or some other story, who knows? All that's shared is Junk, Aid, and Mods. But you can't actually take anything out that's not at that particular settlement, you can only use it through crafting or workshop. Things that you have constructed and then stored, turrets for example, do not transfer.
If you have taffington and sanctuary linked, they will be able to build the same amount of stuff. If you then connect spectacle to taffington, taffington spectacle and sanctuary will all be able to build from the same pool of junk.
Workbenches outside of settlements aren't connected to anything, they just let you do field repairs. I believe that they're a very safe manner of storage, but I've never tested it. So if you really enjoy hanging around at the red rocket outside of natick, you can stockpile stuff there so you can mod/repair shit from there. I imagine they're very useful for people who are doing no-fast-travel runs, other than that they're just flavor.
