What's this weird system where I can't console myself some heavy combat armor?
One of the many things that i enjoy about fallout 4 is the huge design improvement over the animals and robots.
I love how more fluid the protectrons are as well as different types they have to make up how abundant they are, i love how giant and imposing the sentry bots are, i love how much more personality and different voices the mr and mrs handy's have as well as greater more fluid motions.
I love the redesign of the mirelurks and the addition of the giant bloodbugs for more bug variety. I also enjoy how bigger and lumbering the deathclaws are.
What are your most favorite redesign in Fallout 4?

What is the best gun in this game and why is it the explosive mini gun?
17 base w/heavy weapons and accelerated barrel + (15 explosive * 2 heavy weapons perk * 2 explosive perk) = 87 dmg per shot right now. 100+ dmg with bloody mess, lone wanderer, and Preston's perk.

In game you are technically a Vault Dweller
I just realized something, not only did the institute keep the player frozen but they are also the reason he made it back to the institute. Mama Murphy must be a synth or how else would she have known that the player had a son and that he needed to go to diamond city? Sturges is likely to be a synth too since his abilities as a handyman are way above what they should be. I guess this also explains why Nick Valentine was chucked out of the institute and placed in the Diamond City. Tinkerer Tom is probably also a synth for the same reason as Sturges.

Explosive shotgun is best-in-game tier, two-shot is generally the best on anything else, I still haven't found any effect I particularly like on melee weapons (Bloodied and Instigating are both nice but they don't stand out as much as two-shot or explosive do on guns).

That sounds fantastic. Right now I'm using a Bloodied Chinese officer Sword along with a Martyr's armor piece on Survival. When my health drops below 20%, I get the Jet buff and deal more damage than with a Super Sledge. At full health however, it's just a regular sword.

It was also used by the U.S. Marines in China, and we know more than one suit made it's way back to the States considering that Randall "Vault 22, fuck you" Clark had one and the Desert Rangers in the Mojave had it before they joined NCR. It's easy to get armor and weapon models done before the CK is out. The reason why we have preview pics like that and for CBBE is because people take the skeletons and maps of shit, build on them and customize them, then wait for CK to import them back in and get them working.

Alright, good to know. Would be nice if I could get a [citation needed] on the "slow and medium speed weapons immediately take you out of stealth" thing, if fast weapons somehow don't effect stealth compared to other weapons I might be more interested in looking into them.
That said, the stealth combo knife only gives +0.5x damage, on top of ninja that's 10.5 instead of just 10 so it's really nothing for the most part. I like Kremvh's Tooth but Pickman's Blade might also be worth looking into, although I'm pretty sure the bleeding damage doesn't get multiplied by sneak unfortunately.
Still think I'll always need to keep a super sledge around for dealing with the big fuckers though. Pic related.

The point being that the base damage of a mini gun with big guns maxed is 16.
An explosive mini gun with explosives and big guns maxed will do 60 explosive damage with 16 ballistic.
Every other damage is a percent increase that will effect both types of damage so the percentages will stay the same with 4/5 of the damage of the gun coming from the explosive mod.
A gun is now doing ~5x its normal damage due to a mod in an aoe burst. That is why it's overpowered.

Suppressors only matter if you are using subsonic ammo, otherwise you are getting rid of the noise from the gunpowder but the bullet is going to make a loud crack as soon as it gets out of the barrel and breaks the sound barrier. Well, plasma could have some kind of recoil. I wouldn't imagine it's a lot considering that the plasma moves slow and doesn't seem very dense, but there may be something with expanding the plasma as it leaves or some bullshit.
Lasers though... Photons move fast as shit. Literally the fastest thing in the universe, but they have essentially 0 mass, the amount of them needed to generate recoil that a human can feel would need an enormous energy source, the size of which we might not even be able to build modernly. The only reason I can justify laser recoil is that they superheat air on contact. Hot air expands, that sudden expansion could push on the front of the rifle similar to normal weapon recoil. It also produces a noise, probably something like a loud crack rather than a zzzap sound but eh.

Kellog's outfit is pretty neat.
It was cool to see how his armor evolved throughout his career, too. For some reason it made me think of him as less of a "NPC", if that makes sense.
Anytime you understand someone's motivations or how they grow or change as an individual, it helps them seem like a more rounded character. I just wish Bethesda practiced that a little more, sometimes.
So far the only raider I've sympathized with on any level is Captain James Wire.

Can you be more specific? I turned anis filtering off, currently fiddling with settings to get best performance. I also have a reshade that makes the world more grim/post apoc which was not intended to be played with the snow, I'm just messing with mods/textures atm.
