The real point should be that 9TT = god/near-god level, way above most things with each tail granting her more power. What shouldn't be trusted is Nasu's idea of number scaling. Excalibur = god level magic, Ea = god level phenomenon, VS = god-killing phenomenon, ect. While all are ridiculously powerful, they fall short of Nasu's crazy numbers in comparison. And Tamamo should still be weaker than Ammy, which makes that even crazier. Ammy should be pretty high up and stuff in the hierarchy from the sun wanking, but there should still be comparable Indian gods and Babylonian gods.

And a Tamamo pre-ascension is equal in power to a Tamamo post-ascension, as ascension only changes stats, and only 1 or 2 give a new skill, making Tamamo with 1 tail equal to Tamamo with two. Or 2 tails equal in power to 3.
