Yeah, the $650 mark is sort of justified there, and also nothing at all to do with the fact that I'm referring to having somebody with a home-made 3D printer (such as a RepRap) get one printed for you, at... let's say a 3mm wall.
I have a friend who's willing to print me Linda's ARGUS helmet for about £140 or so. That should give you an idea of what you'll get for your filament.

Who else doesn't like the look of the maps? They just look way too...I don't even know. Flat? Plastic? Like even the 'organic' maps just feel like they don't have any depth to them compared to Halo: Reach or Halo 3.
The maps themselves - while not fantastic - aren't horrendous. I just don't like the look of them.

I like Reach's, but what fucking kills it for me is the coloration. Why does the secondary color take up the entire lower leg? Spartans end up look like little cats with socks. All in all, I still think Halo 3's armor looks the best. Especially that Mark V helmet. I prefer the aesthetics of Halo 3 the best anyway. Its bright, has vibrant colors, all the armor fits nicely together with no mismatching.

Yeah, I've never seen why people dislike SPARTAN-IV's so much. It makes sense that'd they want to bring back their super soldiers since 90% of the II's and III's are dead and said Spartans accomplished some of the hypest fucking shit in UNSC history.

You got the Spartan-Is and IIs down.
IIIs were picked at a similar age to IIs, but with less genetic requirements. The hormones and augmentations they were given were more aggressive than the Spartan-IIs and focused more on strength and the ability to just straight-up ignore lethal injuries for a while. They were never meant to be long-term soldiers - most of them died in battle before they hit their mid-teens. The idea was hundreds of Spartans charging a single Covenant objective, shrugging off things like Fuel Rod Cannons and Energy Swords through the lungs. Of course, they were kept off the books that list things that are off the books, since UNSC morale would take a HUUUUUUGE drop if people knew they were sending hundreds of children to die on the daily or weekly.
Spartan-IVs are, yeah, already battle-hardened soldiers who can sign up for the S-IV program. There's no guarantee you'll get in, but there's a better chance than a Spartan-II. They are physically not as large or as strong. Their implants and augmentations are not as intrusive or extensive. To make up for this, their Mjolnir Mk VI Gen2 armour is leaps and bounds ahead of the Spartan-IIs Mk V and Mk VI Gen1. That being said, as of Halo 5, all of the Spartan-IIs still on active duty have been issued with Gen2 armour, so in that Locke v Chief fight, Chief should've decimated Locke more than he already did.
Why people hate Spartan-IVs differs from person to person. Me personally - Spartans were meant to be the best of the best. They were the ones the elite of the elite wished they could be. In Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3, that was what the Chief was. He was, quite literally, a walking God of war. Spartan-IIIs got a semi-pass because they were never supposed to reach the heights of the Spartan-IIs. They were always meant to be a trash unit that ONI could throw at something. It just feels to me that Spartan-IVs lost the elitism that made the Spartan name great.

IIIs got only chemical augmentations that made them emotionally unstable if not regularly injected with a supressant
IIIs got no biomechanical augmentations (like ceramic plating on the bones and this stuff)
Most IIIs got no real Mjolnir but shitty SPI armor
Where a single Spartan II in Mjolnir costed more than entire fleet of UNSC frigates, IIIs were cheaper, worse and built for, as mentioned by yourself, suicide runs.

I don't mind sprinting. It sped up the feel of the game, which is nice. The thrusters in Halo 5 that push the Spartan while sprinting is a nice touch. The shield not regenerating while sprinting is also a good balancing act.

One of the things I think Reach did well was kind of characterize the SPARTAN-IIIs as these expendable special ops suicide mission soldiers.
Playing chronologically you get all the SPARTAN-IIIs fighting tooth and nail for every bit of ground they cover and getting killed off quickly and abruptly with only one survivor and then you get to Halo 1 where you play as a SPARTAN-II and Chief's just.

I think that, at least for me, it's less SIVs and more the more emotional context of them and the threats they face. Elites, for example were supposed to be SII levels individually, and they all had this great honor system that you saw in game. SIVs just feel like D list comic book superheroes, taking out disposable foes. It's tough to form an emotional attachment to the player character with a tone like that.
In Halo 5 it doesn't feel like I'm humanity's ace in the hole against an impossibly powerful enemy. It's understandable given the state of the universe (and I /do/ think that in time, we're going to reach that point again), but it's just not as endearing to me as Chief and the SII/SIIIs.I'm playing Dino Crisis at the moment, sorry if my post seems disjointed

Spartan-IIs. They were called Red Team, but they were a different Red Team. Coloured team names were used interchangeably throughout the entire run of the Spartan-IIs lifetime. It just so happened that John normally named his team Blue, and designated any secondary team as Red under Fred's command. The name and makeup of those teams are not set in stone.
