Just finished a conquest match of BTB on Recurve. We won 150 to 8. We had Total Control 6 times, and I was #1 overall.
And I did nothing but camp upper mid with a sniper rifle, occasionally waddling back a few feet to the base there to get a base defense medal.
Why don't people ever throw grenades up to the sniper perch? It seems so obvious.

People have pretty much figured out the matchmaking system now, and how it sets up one team to steam roll the other each time.
When someone is on the verge of going up a tier in CSR, they get set up against a team better than their team, to see if they can overcome the challenge. A lot of people don't like dealing with bullshit like that so they quit.
It's annoying, but I don't really blame them, because it's also annoying to be matched together with shitters against a legitimately good team. Social playlists need to become a thing.

I didn't mind Halo 4's gunplay. The shit corridor shooting maps, dumbass killstreak/ordnance system and lack of game updates until like 4 months after release killed it for me.
If there was a stripped back version, without the killstreaks and armour abilities, I'd prefer it to what we have at the moment in Halo 5. If there was a 60FPS version of Halo 4, I'd argue that it looks better than the jaggy shit we have now too.

It clears out commons from your silver packs.
You don't want to pay 5K RP for two commons when that could've been an uncommon / rare.
Bronze grinding is spamming bronze packs until you get the Nadir emblem from them (all common items rewarded from the packs). You then do the same for Silvers which will take longer due to higher price and more items to collect.
It benefits you heavily in the long run. If you don't see yourself playing that long: just go silver / gold packs.

Autists that want the fastest possible 100% buy bronze before silvers, because 3/4 bronze will contain a permanent common in them, making it slightly faster than doing silvers.
The problem with doing this however, is that you're absolutely butt fucked when it comes to rp boost cards (you'll get none, since they're all at least uncommon), and reqs for warzone. You'll be stuck using completely shit items constantly.
On top of that, if you got the premium pack with the collectors edition / digitally, you're not knocking off any of the uncommon / rare unlocks there, since those don't even unlock common reqs in them.

Bronze packs have around a 60% chance at giving you a permanent.
Silver packs always give you two permanents.
Silver packs will also sometimes give you rp boost req cards.
Silver packs are generally better if you play ANY warzone. If you ONLY play arena, brzone are slightly better just because you'll sell every card you get.

i can try to explain how you could see Reach as fanfic. I was trying to explain something similar to someone on waypoint yesterday. That people are complaining that Locke doesnt say much and doesnt develop much as a character, along with all the other halo 5 characters, while they ignore his little tv thing and all the books where they are all included or soon will be. Since 343i at least attempts to develop characters within the universe and not dance around it like bungie did. Halo Reach introduced a Locke style character, a hyper lethal spartan on par with the chief, that does Oni's dirty work, says very little, we learn just about nothing about their past other than they can fly space planes, then conveniently killed off along with their squad so we dont have to include them later on. making a story around a very small period of time, then trying to give them something significant to do to give them meaning to the greater narrative.

I don't even get where you're going here. The entire game is the story - Reach is falling. The entire point is to portray a futile struggle to defend the planet, knowing full well it's going to fall.

The characters introduced in Reach weren't meant to be portrayed later on. The entire point of Reach was, as I said, to show off the futile tragedy of trying to defend a planet against a full-scale Covenant invasion. Pretty much the only exception to this is the Spartan-II's relationship with Halsey, who is a mother figure to all of them and genuinely cares (or seems to care) about the fleshy bloodsack that's under the armour, John's relationship with Cortana, since after the Fall of Reach, she was basically his only friend and person who talked to him like a human (until it was retconned that other Spartan-IIs were alive, and he knew about them and just never mentioned them and neither did any other Marine ever), and the Spartan-II's relationship with each other, which while professional, was also a super tight-knit family like Buck so thankfully pointed out.

It's why they're Spartan-IIIs with Mjolnir armour that, technically Spartan-IIIs shouldn't have access to. I honestly never had an issue with any of the things people commonly complained about with Reach. If I saw somebody use Armour Lock, I just walked back and waited for them to pop out, and bloom wasn't really something I ever really found a problem with. I could compensate for it pretty easily - the only real issues I can pick out would be things like Banshee spawn-camping on Spire, which was down more to using a Campaign space for Invasion instead of a dedicated multiplayer map.

I'm still failing to see how Reach was a massive, unforgivable retcon. The end product of the game was the same - Reach fell, the Autumn escaped with coordinates for Alpha Halo. The only part of the campaign you could even legitimately call a retcon is how Cortana obtained said coordinates - which, in the end, is pretty much a null point, it's such a small detail it's hardly worth getting your frilly panties in a twist over. Otherwise, Reach was fairly self-contained - and I refer you to the above. Coming from the guys responsible for the canon in the first place, and referring to a book that was published even before Halo: CE came out, I'd say they're allowed to alter plot points if they so choose.

I don't like the change in canon as much as the next guy. I don't mind playing as Noble Team, because Reach is a big planet and it's not difficult to believe that a six-man fireteam could easily be on Reach and keep out of site of other major Spartan forces. The ending was a bit miffed, since it changed the canon to make faceless Noble Six the hero of humanity, which admittedly, is the point of every Halo game - to make you, the player, the faceless hero of humanity.
Would've preferred the campaign to divert and have Noble Team link up with Red Team at the polar generators. They could even still have the Objective: Survive mission - just with dead Spartan-IIs on the ground here and there.

We've been over this. The ending portion of the game is the only part that legitimately fucks with the canon that is specifically said to be different to the game in other media. For like 90% of the game, Spartan-IIs are never mentioned or seen, because Noble Team has their own mission, separate of any other Spartan special forces on the planet.

i liked halo reach's campaign. it definitely leaves you feeling a bit of sorrow for them, dying with their world falling apart, for a future they would never see. All unexplained characters. only people that read the books would know what they were. They were the expandable spartans you sent to do the jobs where they were not expected to survive. But they didnt even touch on that. 1 throw away line of surviving Pegasi Delta. which after reading the wiki just now, didnt even make it into the final game....
it was bungies quick and dirty way to explain what Reach was without having to go full force with the story including the master chief. instead, they found some narrow space in time to ram a bunch of characters, whip it up to make them integral to the larger story, then quickly killed off one by one to make it seem dramatic. characters which could have had a meaningful backstory or explained what they were and the grim reality of the existence of spartan 3s.
killing off a spartan that was as good as MC, likely worlds better than locke, a person that survived a battle that killed almost 300 other spartans and found a way off... and gets killed in a fist fight because they couldnt find a place to hide or a ship to escape in... high jack a banshee or something, (i dont think they even fully glassed reach). but they were not concerned with letting your spartan live. probably why they let you pick the gender. they were just explanatory tools, and even than i doubt people knew what reach was if they only played the game.

I didn't say they stick around. I mean it's like five seconds as they zoom across the map, taking pot-shots at whatever happens to be in the open. If you're already on 15% health, yeah, a burst from the chin-mounted .50 might kill you, but it'd be more about assisting the Spartans on the ground, not racking up kills for them. I agree with Halo 2 and CE, but Halo 3 was far too easy to be any fun whatsoever. Legendary on Halo 3 is like Normal on any other one. Fighting Scarabs should be hard as hell, but you have to go out of your way to make it anything other than a cakewalk. Then it gives you shit like a "bossfight" with Guilty Spark which trumps even the Didact QTE in terms of shittiness.
Halo 4 is debatable, but Halo 5 at the least kicks its ass in terms of Campaign gameplay.

Personally, I found Halo 3 far, far too easy. The bossfights (Chieftains, Scarabs, Spark) were utterly pitiful, the Flood were fragile and a bore to fight, and the secret weakness of every single enemy was melee, melee, melee (which I couldn't help but feel "soft"; like, slugging a Brute in the jaw was like punching a balloon).
Halo 4 wasn't toooo much better, but it gets more points for not being so easy or trying to throw half-assed "bosses" at the player.
Halo 5 had its excellent integration of the new movement abilities and the ways the battlegrounds were designed afforded many different ways to approach and take out the enemy. Warden Eternal, while not perfect, was also a big step up from Halo's previous attempts at bossfights.

Entirely possible. When I first got Halo 3 I was so excited for the conclusion of the trilogy that I ignored everything wrong about it. It was only later that I realized I was almost forcing myself to replay it out of denial that I was fairly disappointed.

I don't think there's any question that Halo 3 is one of the easiest of the games; the path to any potentially difficult encounter is ALWAYS littered with some overpowered weapon or vehicle, and melee is the solution to a disproportionate amount of fights. Ease makes the game boring, where each encounter is nearly identical to the previous ones, and you begin to fall into a repetitive cycle until you switch off you Xbox in what is alarmingly close to disgust.
Whether the games is ugly or not is more subjective, I suppose, but mostly I use it in response to people who use the "Halo 4/5 are animu" meme. Nothing says anime to me more than an overly bright, glossy, overabundant colors, which Halo 3 has no lack of.

so some people a few days ago were saying how they dont like warzone on Stormbreak because "the game is decided in the first 3 minutes." While going over my clips i noticed that Lochagos will jump down further away from the first base that is captured.
So if you want to get the first Shot on Lochagos, make sure Your team captures their base first. This way when you run in you will only have to make a slight turn to get a shot on him.

I think this is a good set to hide your team color from a distance and make your head harder to differentiate, especially if you are going for stealth.
the lighting system messes with colors at a distance making it difficult to tell red and blue appart. if your armor has more grey and black naturally, it should make it more difficult for an enemy to determine youre not on their team.

Use your thrusters to remove yourself from the blast radius.
When using thrusters to evade people/in a firefight, don't just thrust the way you're strafing.
For most loadout/default weapons, don't bother scoping in, you're not changing your accuracy a significant amount and the decreased aim movement speed while scoped isn't really worth it.

in warzone its really hard to tell who's a teamate sometime, I don't get why
It's pretty sad that, going through the campaign on solo, I'm mad because I have less HP/shields than prior games. It's expected that my teammates revive me but the helpful AI is piss retarded unless it's in regards to issuing commands to teamkill an enemy.
I do like 'exploring' around the areas though but the intel is pretty predictable in where/what to look for. End up missing only 1-2 per level. Nice to go through the campaign more slowly than duoing it on heroic on launch night I don't even remember most of the game.

Changes that need to be done in Warzone: 1. Increase splatter threshold for teammates, you can brush them and they'll die.
2. Always have Player/Team Markers for allied vehicles, 1-3 seconds of hesitation to figure out if that banshee/tank is on your team isn't okay.
3. the Archways/raised hallways to the sides of the Core room shouldn't make everyone look purple when viewed from outside, for whatever reason.
4. Have an option to always show allied tags.
Perhaps change the colorization of the boosts/powerups, as damage up makes everyone look red, and one of the others makes everyone look blue.
