Only use .44 Magnum, Double Barrel Shotgun, Hunting Rifle and Tommy Gun. No silencers on anything, but use Stealth where you can. Attempt high charisma and perception, but don't use VATS (it makes it quite difficult). Don't be fit, but don't be fat or skinny. Just somewhere inbetween.
Don't use a companion. Nick is the best companion and would make a great partner, but you're a Lone Wolf. So get Lone Wanderer. Get high Pick Locking, but don't get hacking.
Mod your radio station to smooth Jazz. If you can't find a mod with smooth jazz, just turn your music down and listen to Jazz on youtube. To get you started;

Having some issues with settlement happiness, specifically for Sanctuary. Whenever I leave Sanctuary (which is to say, every time I go questing/exploring), the Workshops tab in my PipBoy says that it alone among my three or so "developed" (actually bothering to feed/water/defend, etc.) settlements has a warning icon, and when I look at it it says I have like 3 defense and 0 beds or something similarly ridiculous. The first time this happened, I noticed it and assumed it was attacked without me noticing, so I went back to repair the damage... Only to happen upon the fully defended, fully provisioned settlement I left it as. A few more "fool me once" moments assumed, to the point where I take it as a matter of course.
This wouldn't be such an issue, mind, if it weren't for the fact that happiness plunges whenever I leave, and only climbs again when I return and it "recognizes" that it has all the furnishings and defenses it's supposed to.
Anyone had similar issue(s)?

Honestly one of my biggest issues with fallout 4 is while your in power armor, the animations for melee attacks are different between first person and 3rd person views. In first person you can clearly see your character using both hands for some melee attacks, however in 3rd person your character is only using 1 hand for the same attack. Its only like this in power armor, I don't understand why they would give power armor attacks different animations for 3rd person, but not for first person. Its fucking retarded and seriously kills my immersion.

if they do introduce vehicles, I hope it will be in fallout 5. If Fallout 5 does come out, it will probably be in a few years - in a few years I hope it will be possible to make the map span the entire US without devastating space requirements. Cars would be neat then.

Mr. Fantastic is literally the best in-game explanation for why an organization as large and well-equipped as the NCR can't seem to get much done.
