Does anyone have links to guides to help when it comes to getting gear/skills that compliment your weapons? I feel pretty good with my skill level in Splatoon, I never cared much about what skills I have since I played casually , but I've been getting more and more competitive in Ranked and feel I need to have the right skills in order to climb the rankings more.
Also is it possible to make it to S just playing with randoms, or are you gonna have to form a squad and get coordinated to make it?

Sloshing Machine is definitely a relative of Blasters, vertical drop at max range is really interesting to know when aiming shots.
Definitely worse than Rapid Blaster (Pro) at aiming upwards, but demolishes when hitting targets below/behind cover.

Actually, I win really easily on it cuz it's easy to clear the crow's nest with the Carbon Roller due to fast one-shot flicks, and scaling walls is easy with Burst Bombs. The issue was just being spawncamped, which is easier to do in Blackbelly than Port imo.

Vanilla is niche at the very least. decent range, good inking capability and sort of fast to kill with a versatile sub weapon is a combination you won't find on much else. it's just not a very good abuser of inkstrike, and it's more awkward than other weapon subtypes so there's no reason to really use it. With a whole shoal of unfresh squids whichever team gets the most of them is going to have the harder time finding a solid group of four members and therefore spend the majority of the time losing matches.
The skilled ones of the popular team will get to max rank quicker than the unskilled ones and leave making it even more of a uphill battle for the remaining squibs.

Elgato I believe is designed to work on most computers, even older ones
Just heads up if you plan on getting a capture card the Elgato is fine for recording but it has a huge delay when streaming.
I wouldn't recommend it if you might plan on streaming later. But you can get a cheap used/refurb just for recording. Works fine
