Matching isn't good enough, though. Frames can still be lost in translation from client input -> server recognition -> server transmission -> client retinkering (to match what the server says).
More frames in the client input means that the most accurate data will be sent. Yes, the server will squish those frames down to 64 or 128 frames per sec, but if you've sent a lot of frames initially, it won't really matter. Servers frequently "drop frames", meaning that frames you send aren't recognized at all.
