So my grandma's planning to do a thanksgiving thing, right? All the family there, fun times, whatever. My dad has 3 other kids all under 5 and his sister that he hates is there, so he makes an excuse and plans to just chill at home. Like a week before Thanksgiving my step-mom's like "is NAME (me) planning on going over there?" and he's like probably, but it'd be rude to ask grandma because it'd imply that she might forget about one of her grandkids (of which she only has a handful). Now I haven't heard word one about grandma's Thanksgiving thing. She never called me, texted, nothing. So I'm like sure let's do it.
Then I guess on Thanksgiving while he's driving over to pick me up she texts him like "did anyone ask what NAME is doing?" So she did actually forget about me, and he got pissed about it. Apparently he didn't even answer her texts or anything.
and then nobody wanted to cook and McD was the only place open which was weird because it's a shitty holiday and it's like closing all the food places because it's Father's Day or some shit. Like it's just a day everyone argues and eats turkey, chill. But I live for that Chicken club or whatever sandwich so whatev.
tl;dr: my grandma forgot I existed and Thanksgiving celebrators need to take it down a notch, it's not that important.
I feel like if I fine-tune some of the timing of the story this could be some really good self deprecating material. Gonna practice it on my roommate when she gets back.
