The only part of the memory sequence you have to sit through is when the synth is taking shaun back. The rest you can just walk through onto the next neuron catwalk and it'll skip the whole scene.

I think the people of the wastes all have gotten used to the radioactive foods, and they're only radioactive to you because you're fresh out of a vault.
Think of it like 90% of the population has the lead belly perk.
But I guess that still doesn't explain the need to purify water if everyone was acclimated to it. The only food I can think of in the game that isn't radioactive is the Institute food packets and noodles at the noodle shop.

Their leader is stupid tough, I planetd about 10 mines at his feet, then popped raider and jet and topped it off with a coke nuke, and he still had half his life left. There's also an apparent cut quest called the replacement that strongly hinted that the spouse would come back as a synth, I guess its still possible for it to come back in a DLC, surely the voice actors will come back for the DLC, so they could voice it along with other new material.

The custom survival one, and tune it so it isn't so extreme as the other.
2x/3x damage for the player too just means you'll be one-shotting everything.
I can kill the first deathclaw with a pipe rifle about 5 seconds after it emerges, its terrible.
If you're going to use the custom one, I recommend 1x or 0.75x damage for player, slightly more for NPCs. It still feels fairly viceral.

Different anon, but I also do not have problem killing him, probably due to a bug I encountered. Even after he told me that his synths will stand down so I can talk to him, as soon as I enter the room, everyone started shooting at me.
I reloaded twice to make sure the glitch went away (it didnt), so I prepped a few mines at the door, as soon as I open it, I just one hit shot the synth in front of the door, then queued up about 2 headshots at him, one hit him crit.
He did regenned but never used the stealthboy, then proceeded to down dogmeat. I just killed him while dogmeat kept him busy. I even knocked him down once and I killed him with a melee weapon afterwards. Wasnt even a difficult fight.
Maybe the perk combo? I'm level 30 and I have sniper level 3, penetrator, and marksman level 3.

The problem with the minigun is that it has an absurd spread outside of a few meters, so if you're aiming at a single target most of your shots will miss. I broke out the power armor and minigun to take on dunwich borer, and shooting from one side of the quarry to the other would give a spread pattern about the size of a car. That's fine for behemoths and deathclaws, but if you want to take out literally anything else outside of shotgun range you have to use hundreds of rounds.

I think the intention behind them is pretty clear: People you help out and settle with in Fallout aren't going to be perfect treasures. They're going to be strung out, traumatised wrecks. If you had to live with them, it'd be terrible. They'll resent you and be obnoxious even when you're busy trying to make their lives better. The Witcher series does this all the time: being a hero doesn't automatically mean gratitude and blow jobs, it can just as easily generate suspicion and a whole new set of problems. You still help them because it's the humane, moral thing to do. And maybe, if you don't take the easy option and fucking slaughter them for being annoying, you'll discover they can recover and become better people. That's what being a hero is all about.
The problem is Bethesda's usual cack-handedness. Everywhere else in the Wasteland, being the hero *does* automatically generate gratitude and a completely positive outcome, so the original settlers stick out as incredible ingrates. Far worse is that aside from Murphy they're all invincible; the option to kill them or let them all die is absolutely essential for the morality of the situation to exist. But Bethesda can't allow you to do that, because that would necessitate branching paths and different kinds of Nate/Nora, and they can't be bothering with all the nonsense which making an actual RPG necessitates.

I do, but I believe it's where I turned off the character lighting, which applies a light to the character at all times. It causes some weird unnatural lighting and some weird shinyness on occassion so I usually toggle it off for screenshots.) If you go somewhere dark, you may have noticed your character lit up despite no light around and it was kinda jarring to me.

One of the first things I did when I got to Bunker Hill was ascend the momument and scan the horizon with my sniper rifle. I saw him and a bunch of protectrons on the surface of a their ship.
Since my last couple of go-rounds with assaultrons were at the National Guard camp and the Castle, I figured I'd snipe him now so I wouldn't have to deal with him later. So after a couple minutes I kill him and every single protectron on the deck.
Hours later, I finally make my away around to the ship- which by now was hostile to me- and cleared the rest of the protectrons.

Only bug i had was that two times in random encounters that i found my own character as an npc. Killable but otherwise uninteractable. The loot was identical to whatever i had when my last save game was. Easy 2x caps and ammo.

I just feel like an internal collapse is something you can make more interesting in a game context and is, in general, more interesting than LOLNUKEITAGAIN. Join the plot in media res. Help / suppress different factions in the game world. Maybe even have alternate starts (recently joined private in NCR military, gun runner merc, chem-maker or guard for blades, good-natured follower of apoc). This is way too RPG for what the series has morphed into though.
