This is why I side with the Brotherhood. Hell, when it's my turn to penetrate their defenses, they die in less than that.
I get they are supposed to be an underground synth smuggling operation, that naturally draws outcasts (or kooks, as Virgil calls them) but would it have been too much to ask for them to have at least a small militia of grateful synths with energy weapons and combat armor? They live in a crypt, for Horrigans sake.
It just feels so silly to side with anyone but the Brotherhood, and this is as someone who practically runs the Commonwealth via the Minutemen. I can call in an artillery strike, some colonial LARPers with laser muskets, and have a badass coat and sweet hat.
The Brotherhood has a fucking airship, an airbase and vertibirds, power armored soldiers with gatling lasers and plasma rifles, nostalgia value, an actual character as a leader, a broad cast of likable side characters, and so on.
The only concession you have to make is deciding that an advanced robot is still a robot. In fact, not even that; you are asked to realise that after the Institute has been treating them as slaves, some even in painful drug testing, that these immortal bio-androids might eventually get resentful and kill all humans.
Beyond that, you can go over Maxson's head and rebuke him several times. You can spare Danse. You can synth Curie. You can keep Peter-Shaun the Everchild. Ect. The Brotherhood isn't actively hunting reprogrammed synths, just members of the Institute.
The worst bit is that siding with the Brotherhood is portrayed as a bad choice. In the trailer they are the enemy, alongside the Institute. In the merchandise they are described as the villains. Clearly, Bethesda sides with the Railroad.
Really, have they misread their target audience that badly? Fallout veterans have to get over their joy at the BoS returning to form to choose another faction. FO3 babbies will be running on nostalgia. Frat boys, Halo fans, and teenage boys? Guess.

Overall it's a nice action/adventure game with a really good crafting system that will get perfected with mods. RPG elements are dead, FPS elements are 6/10 and combat in general is still ancient because of the recycled engine. Still only one companion and they still block you ala skyrim. Combat is generally more useful, it can also be converted to .308. The only way the hunting does more damage is when it's converted to .50, but by then you should be finding shit like laser and plasma rifles.

Because ultimately they buildign towards the Master's plan, but with Synths rather than Super Mutants. They are already replacing settlers with synth duplicates. Once this process is complete, there would be no humans left. Just synths, who can make more of themselves.
This leads into a Terminator-like scenario, where synths decide humans need to go away now, and wipe us out for being inferior and treating them so badly.
Basically, the Brotherhood's stance on what will happen. To be fair, enough people can't seem to see it coming that really it might be a mercy.

In sanctuary, you can actually demo the broken down houses for a heap of scrap, and even more notably, you can find a fallout shelter behind the second house from yours to the right side (if you're facing it)
Inside is mostly humdrum stuff, but there are two gold bars inside and a safe that's locked expert.

My friend fucking hates molotovs, he got to level 10 and then raiders would literally not stop throwing molotovs at him. He told me that in a single engagement with a couple of raiders he got 5 molotovs thrown at him. For me, its frag grenades.
