The whole idea would be even better if the rules of the server were changed significantly to something superior like the system that Lifeweb uses. Space has a slow transfer of heat because gas is instantly dispersed. Heat transfer occurs when an object interacts with an atmosphere. Without the atmosphere, the heat decay is very, very slow.
Here's what you need to do.
First, throw out all those filters. You are using nitrogen. That means you only want to save nitrogen. So filter nitrogen and send the rest to waste. When you looked in on me to see what I would do the other day, you took note of the injectors, and the way I used one after a filter. That was a good insight to notice. But you're filtering every gas except nitrogen. That is more time and trouble than it's worth. I'll get into the trouble in the second part. So to improve things a great deal, just use one filter and send the filtered gas back to the SME chamber and vent all the other gas.
Second, bottlenecks. Each volume pump is a bottle neck that will only let X much gas through. You do not need any. It will not make the gas travel any faster or cool any better. This will cause trouble if there's ever a heating issue and end up blowing the engine. Likewise, each and every filter represents a bottleneck where only 4500 kPa can pass through. And you have added 5. One is enough. Bottlenecks are your enemy and only to be used when required.
Lastly, and this is not a fault but an optimization. When you looked in on my cooling loop you saw 18 thermal plates (1 on each side of a 4 way manifold). You have 105. 18 was enough. You spent a lot of time you didn't need to spend building a SUPER COOLING LOOP, while simultaneously making sure gas couldn't get to it with all those bottlenecks. If you plan on bringing in a dozen or more emitters then you will need that many. If you're just going to use 3 emitters you only need 9-18 thermal plates.
1. Get rid of the bottlenecks (volume pumps/extra filters)
2. Optimize the design to save time and effort.

Cleaning the gas isn't technically necessary for a long time if you don't care about your output numbers too much. It takes a long time for a fuckton of plasma to build up. If you want to add a filter, though, consider this:

Lifeweb IS clearly superior to many SS13 communities though. Mainly because of their good features and lax rule system. You have people there waiting for days to get into the server, and when it's up, it's pretty much always full.
In totalitarian SS13 communities such as /vg/station however, you have bad admins, bad rules and stale features. That's why the player count here is pretty much always low.

I use pumps to ensure that every last drop of nitrogen is taken out of the tank. If you don't then you'll get some backwash. Without a pump, that canister becomes just another pipe - the pressure will equalize. The pressure (and mol content) will be very small because it's cold, but not zero.
I like zero. Fully emptied canisters. So I use a volume pump.
It doesn't make a significant difference though it's just a trait of my setups.

I tried out the contortionists suit(atmos antag item) last round. Its a cool idea, but because it costs 7 points its not practical to use with the limitations it has. I don't mind only being able to carry my ID and 2 items in my pocket when I use it, but make it worth less points so we can at least have some better item combinations with it. It seems like it would be a cool item to use with a voice changer or something but you can't afford most items once you've bought it. It's not worth 7 points.

Pressure which would be achieved by pumping air mix into the pipes, meaning any negligible air loss over the duration would be made even more irrelevant should you require to quickly connect the 2 separate pipe networks in case of emergency.

RO2 is a favorite but Insurgency is great too, and a modern shooter.

Uranium's an alpha emitter, so something as simple as a good thick piece of cardboard or some air would save you from that as long as you don't lick the damn thing, as it's the most prone to screwing with your cells in close enough proximity
Let's assume that plasma interacts with Gamma radiation, as it's the only thing that can penetrate anything thicker than a sheet of plastic.It's about 20 times less damaging than alpha, but a whole lot more penetrating, so hiding in maint won't save you from the singlos wrath.

Let's assume that the rad storms is cosmic radiation, that's free Protons with some electrons and heavier elements thrown in for good measure. An atmosphere AS well as a magnetosphere would be saving your bacon, but if you're outside you're toast physically, genetically, as well as screw with your eyes because cataracts. On top of that it has a chance to mess with electronics (Flipping bits here and there, this killed the voyager 2 probe as well as some airflights during solar storms) but you could argue that that's what Ion storms are about.
