I mean, I thought fallout 3 did so many things wrong, but I still "got it", it was still a great experience purely from how much there was to do and a good atmosphere. if fallout 3 was substanceless sugar, then fallout 4 is cardboard, same amount of substance/nutrients, but it's just not fun anymore, it's just bad.

Survival, game is still way too fucking easy. I played a explosives/heavy guns/rifles BOS playthrough and at the ending raiding the institute i had something like 5,000 minigun rounds, 50 missiles, 1000 energy rounds for my laser rifle and used my fatman not even once in the entire playthrough. I was able to 1 shot deathclaws with the missile launcher alone, forced myself to not use the fatman and avoid upgrading and completely ignoring x-01 power armor.
Think i'll start a full charisma barter/melee minuteman playthrough now

Normal for now, maybe harder difficulties if I begin 2-3 shotting everything. I used up 300-400+ minigun ammo in the Glowing sea just trying to kill one Radscorpion, I dont even wanna know what that is like on harder difficulties.
Most legendaries I find are silly shit like irradiated rolling pins or pipe weapons, and I despise how Pipe weapons look so I just sell them and let Piper use the best ones.
I'm leveling up Charisma to get this perk.

Can't decide on who to side with. Morally, I tend to lean towards the Railroad. Thematically, I like the Brotherhood of Steel (but their current leader is an idiot). Storywise, the Institute seems like the option the character would go with, and it is the better hub area (which I assume I will lose access to if I side with anyone else).

I think I figured it out though, it's winrar that's giving me problems. I just unpacked the textures again and installed it just like before but it looks like it didn't fully unpack everything. Some textures are showing up in-game but it's still missing a lot of them like on the roads or indoors. The ground and outside of the buildings look fine though, but everything else is still vanilla. Will reinstall winrar and try again.

Just start slapping shit together, anon. Remember to start with the foundation, either the concrete one or the silts, to give you a level ground floor. Then just start putting stuff up, and see what looks good. Take it apart, try something else. You'll be surprised what you stumble upon, or when inspiration might strike.
Same for the grounds / furniture / knicknacks. Just put stuff out and play with the layout until it clicks for you.
It's a shame enemies will just appear in the middle of your base. Really the only defensible structure is a brick with turrets since you can wall off an area but they might still appear in the middle of your courtyard.
I've never seen a piece of gear like it before. I keep finding +1 agi +1 perception gear. I'm gonna have to get addicted to everything and see how it works out. My current pistol does 25 beed damage on hit, and it works on robots and turrets too. It's amazing because you can just spray center mass and you're guaranteed to stack up tons of bleed damage no matter where you hit. I can take things out with my pistol from practically anywhere with VATS too.

Stay in the dark as much as possible, and shit probably won't see you unless it's pretty close.
Approach by sneaking if you can, if you're already in the [caution] state when you start sneaking it's much harder to stay hidden.
Avoid bumping into things. Obviously.
Hold the walk button (idr what it is by default) or toggle walk with caps lock, slow sneaking makes you almost impossible to detect by sound unless you're right next to someone.
Invest in a suppressor for your gun. It doesn't totally cut noise and people dying will alert enemies but you're very unlikely to go straight to [danger] from it.

For high recoil guns you really can't ADS unless you're the God of recoil.
At the same time there's very few times where third-person + aiming isn't preferred for quick and effective acquisition and recoil control.

Hey friend, saves are divided into different sections between characters in the main menu now. You should be able to find the save for your last playthrough if you look around.

Is it possible to get Danse's companion perk without siding with the Brotherhood? I just left the Institute and now I have to pick a side but I want his perk before deciding. I pretty much have nothing else to do except the repeatable quests but he doesn't respond to them. Should I just sit in my base and equip some power armor over and over?

Where can I find more T-45 armor? I've gone through and found every last exo-suit that's known of, including one I had to steal from a Raider. Speaking of which, what do I do with this "stolen" exo-suit? Like, I can't put anything on it without "stealing it" back off of it, and Piper hates that.
Iron fist or big leagues? I think the paralyze is nice for bosses with my 12 luck build but aoe with hammers is also nice, hard to choose.
