go to relations and keep refreshing randoms until you find people with esp ratings of ideally 6000 or less. fill your relations with these players because they're the people who are doing a lot of fob's. Your indirect retaliation menu will be filled with high ranked active players and you're almost gaurenteed invasion/defense if you start invading them. To be extra sure you're going to have an active play base, look at you relations profiles to choose people who are playing all the time.
Also get nukes and you'll be invaded. I stole a nuke and literally as soon as I got back to acc I was invaded.

You'll get a red prompt in the top corner of the screen when someone's at your FOB, if you're not doing anything, you can go to your FOB and stop them yourself. Otherwise, you can leave it up to your security team to handle.
I wouldn't worry too much, the game will intentionally give them your worst staff and a puny amount of resources. It's worth Direct Contracting anyone you definitely don't want to lose though (R2, or equivalent in the staff management menu).

yes, if you raise your security settings you'll probably get invaded less, but what makes invasion most difficult is having 4/4 on all platforms. This'll take a while.
If you're security settings are low, they won't be able to steal much staff or gmp from you, but any raw materials you have in your fob (now 90% of your total) will be up for grabs so it's best to have security.

That depends on your actions.
If you do don't do FOB invasions yourself, you'll be mostly invisible in matchmaking and rarely if ever get invaded. Just make sure to put your best staff on direct contracts.
Just expand your FOB struts gradually. It's better to get one strut to 3/4 than to have everything at 1/4. If someone does see you in matchmaking, a 1/4 or 2/4 Base Development strut is one of the first things people go for.

I did notice that the character I was about to slit the throat of looked to be stuck in that throat slit animation since my knife was right at his throat before my character's death. Well Kojima said with Ground Zeroes the intention was to get the message across to player that "if they keep playing the way they've played in past games, they will fail". Reflex mode is really there to help you though. Ground Zeroes isn't that tough with it.

First, Ground Zeroes, like the last couple metal gear games, are made infinitely easier if you check out guides/youtube videos about it.
Secondly, It really does train you to not take on too much at once, and to start planning out your steps.
To this day I still haven't figured out how to get Paz out without setting off the alarm.
Play it as a stealth game, not as much a stealth action game.
