You make a very compelling point. They fucked up with very early tier CV vs. balance. Later on when a single cruiser can murder 10 planes and cause 2 of them to fire like drunk russians while protecting 4 other ships. The argument swings back.

Was fun guys. Honestly i have more of a reason to not quit wows that anyone else given my long history with, but even that cant keep my interest propped up forever...

I feel regretful, but also free.

The last game i ever played was a victory in zao with trump. That was a good note to end on i think.

I'd argue that CV vs BB balance at 4 is fine, excluding the arkansas beta.

The Myogi when fully upgraded is deceptively fast, and has enough AA to rip apart tier 4 TB's
The Wyoming can just drift and deny all day unless two jap carriers coordinate strikes against it.

The tier 3's are sitting ducks though.

This was a stupid idea, this ship should have never been put in the game. It's essentially designed for teamkilling, with 40 torpedoes ready to fire at any time.

These are supposed to be good players too, since they've completed all of ranked battles; imagine what a new player would do with this ship if they sold it in a bundle.

Proportionally EU has the problem.
RU and NA differences in peak launch to current are fairly minimal in comparison. Especially when you consider nominal attrition rates.

The delay of the RN is about .01% of the problem. People are sick of WG's incompetence in managing the game and it shows. Then people hear the game is being terribly mismanaged by word of mouth and don't even give it a chance.

Don't bother with AA defense mods on japanese cruisers. You're not an AA bote, you're a gunbote.
Gun mod1, fire control mod 1, steering gear mods. However she really doesn't need any of these to perform well.

Worked for me though, Aoba's AA rating got significantly boosted to 45 rating, could be better if I get BFT and AFT but I picked Awareness and Demolition Expert instead.

Cleveland got the other two and has a rating of 58.

Don't do it against cruisers either, and even be careful against Russian DD's as they can citpen you with AP fairly reliably if they get your flat side.

When I went through Aoba I just stuck with battleship groups that actually pushed the enemy, and made enemy battleships remember tsushima in between shooting cruisers and DD's. Don't forget your torpedoes either.

Aoba requires you to angle yourself, A LOT. NEVER broadside ANYTHING in the Aoba unless you know it's not going to fire at you. You have a massive, lightly armoured citadel, but luckily it's not as bad as it was pre-patch 5.1. I've bounced countless BB shells in IJN cruisers via angling.

Always keep enemies on one side of the ship or keep terrain between you and the enemies on the opposite side of your turrets.

Your guns are amazing, 10km and under and they become railguns and absolutely deletes cruisers via multiple, delicious citadel penetrations with AP. Otherwise their HE does amazing damage, DDs to become incapacitated and then rapidly explode, and BBs and other CAs to be perpetually on fire. Remember to grab the tier 4 +3% fire skill for your captain. They also have amazing accuracy. I don't have 40% main battery accuracy for nothing.

You should have learned all this in the Fruity Taco which is an equally good ship which just got better when they buffed it. IJN cruisers become mini-BBs at tier 5 and up, play them like one.

Mods I throw on are Main Battery 1 (don't want to lose one of your precious 3 turrets), Gun fire control (for even more accuracy), Steering (Aoba has an uncanny knack for getting it's rudder blown), and the Rudder mod (to angle faster and avoid torps better).

Steel Ocean has more ships, submarines and night battles. But It looks like shit and the ships handle like RC cars. Also, the spotting system is even more hilarious than in WoWS, so fights end up starting at 5 or less km away. P2W crew and consumables make WG ALMOST look good (if it wasn't for the credit jewing after T8 in WoWS). I don't know how grindy or P2W the grind itself is at higher tiers tho.

I'd rather keep playing WoWS, or otherwise stop playing the genre entirely since there are no good alternatives.

Will it help you more if they can't see you, or will it help you more to have increased draw distance against enemies that you cannot see?

PROTIP: The increased draw distance module is completely useless, the only two ships in the game that maybe sometimes potentially may have any use for it are the kagero and Shimakaze, because they have a draw distance of 18km, but thier torps can have to 20km range.

And even on those ships, you are better off taking the reduced detection range.

Each compartment is water tight and the sailors are trained to close them off during combat. So if there is a hull breach it may be contained to only a part of the ship. So 3-4 rooms may flood but the vessel overall remains unflooded.

Issue arises when too many compartments flood and the vessel loses buoyancy and sinks. At that point one of two things will happen.

You go so deep the pressure causes the bulkheads to fail and room by room each compartment's door fail and are flooded. Meaning a slow and knowing death as you hear each room ahead of you flood under the weight of the ocean and you know yours in 4th in line.

OR

You settle on the bottom not deep enough to crack the pressure hatches. In which case unless you got a rescue sub in the area and they know exactly where you are. You sit in the darkness for days or weeks until you suffocate or starve or freeze to death.

Personally, I heavily considered using Sonar in my Cleveland, especially in the current meta where there isn't too many carriers. The new sonar massively increased the torpedo detection range, not just bypassing smoke.

So new to the game. Been watching a lot of videos though. I am thinking of maining destroyers because they go fast and have a massive FUCK YOU torpedo attack if people are not paying attention.

So the Japanese have the best torpedoes and are the fastest and the Americans have better guns and turning, right?

japanese destroyers for you, then. USN DDs don't have torpedo ranges beyond spotting range until tier 7, whereas IJN have them from tier 2. Russians never have torp ranges much longer than suicide range until tier 9 or 10 with a camo'd out ship

They really havent. Everybody easily evades torps if I shoot at my max range and I feel so slow and clunky when I need to fight close range.

I am nearly to Mut on live, but from even CBT I hated everything past Minekaze..

I attempted USN and it is hilarious change of pace! (From a stealthy ninja, to 'MURICA!!!' live knowing you'll die quazi-sucidal gunboat.)

The first battleships are complete shit. Too slow and inaccurate to accomplish anything. The differences in lines generally become more pronounced the further you go up a tree. But DDs play radically different from the start and CVs turn the game into an RTS.

Haven't touched it since SO came out. Mostly due to the changes to how armor worked (where broadsides were nearly impenetrable. Though that seems to have been fixed.)
But also because those who I'd have played with swapped over.

Well actually their bombers are worse. CV HP really doesn't matter considering that all CVs evaporate under enemy fire.
The Midway also has 1.6k more resilience compared to the Shinano for the lowered HP in comparison. It has its as resilient as the Des Moines Tier 9 cruiser.


Midway's planes are better in every category that matters.
The Scouts are tougher/faster/and see more and you can have more in your hangar deck.
The TBs are faster/tougher/stronger while being able to carry more.
The DBs are tougher/faster/stronger and against you get to have more in reserve.

Everything about the Midway to me points to it just being overall better. Thanks for posting the side by side. If you could do it for all the BBs and CAs you would please many anons here.
