Can you fags not let it die at 300 posts a third time in a row?
>>122445617
>mfw turning on retroachievments
Since winter is here pretty much I decided to go ahead and emulate play all the Silent Hill games. Even the not so good ones.
>>122445983
They're pretty cool, wish more cores were supported though.
Is it possible to make custom levels for Super Mario Advance 4?
>>122447676
thanks for this. i nearly forgot how horrible white americans can be
>>122445875
It's pretty hard. There's just basically nothing to talk about in the emulation sphere. Emulation is over. 3DS will basically be the last system to be emulated with any accuracy and what we've got now with PS2/GCn/Wii is pretty much what we're stuck with beyond a few accuracy improvements here or there which will affect only a few games like the Snowblind games just got a boost recently.
>>122447923
byuu is right.
>>122448128
You should ditch that attitude ASAP and instead be a person who leads by example.
Live your life in an inspiring manner and when you find a woman who appreciates this naturally you will have found your wife.
Then as you continue living in an inspiring manner by being an honorable man and all around great guy any kids you have with this woman will so naturally revere you and look up to you they will model their behavior after yours and you'll have absolutely no trouble at all with them as they will admire you so much they will never ever want to risk losing your respect or favor.
I've noticed throughout my time on this planet the very best of parents live their lives in the "lead by example" way.
And actually that goes for the best leaders of one's nation as well.
All "my way or the highway" and being a strict authoritarian ever gets you is kids who hate you and grow up to become race mixers out of spite.
>>122448264
And in the worst case scenarios you end up with your kid blowing you away with a high powered weapon as happened to that one guy in our movement whose name I can't recall a few years back.
Yeah you don't want to be THAT guy and give the SPLC/ADL anything else to gloat over.
So instead lead by example and all your life problems will take care of themselves without you needing to micromanage and try and mould the people around you into what you want them to be.
Again they will become that naturally the more they respect and admire you by your lead by example lifestyle/ways/nature/etc.
>>122448264
Seems like that's asking a bit much for some guy who hates entire groups of people without ever having met them. He can't really live in an "inspiring" manner unless he hides such disgusting feelings very well.
Hey guys, I need your help, during cutscenes on Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy, there's this weird purple tint during cutscenes. I took an image of it.
>>122448128
Didn't you post the exact same thing made by an imposter in the last thread?
Is there anything really wrong with the "can it play the games I want well?" mindset of emulation, rather than "does it do everything like real hardware would?" mindset?
>>122448502
Probably a bug, report it.
Try dick around with the scaling and texture filtering settings as they caused some oddities the last time I used PPSSPP.
Get this /pol/ shit out of here.
>>122448901
>the games I want
Well that's not the same for everyone, so...
>>122448974
It's the actual emudev byuu speaking.
>>122448983
So, if I were to take a guess and recall correctly, you copy-pasted a comment made by an imposter with a Stormfront account. If so, when will you quit?
>>122448935
Got it fixed, was Hardware transform of all things causing it.
>>122449164
Prove it is an imposter.
>>122449261
Prove that the account is legitimate. This account is not listed by byuu. Also, one of the things that you copy-pasted that directly mentioned retro video game emulation was incredibly ridiculous and the imposter account was created recently.
>>122449460
And? Just because it was created like 2 months ago it doesn't mean it's not him. From posting style it is really him. Of course apologists and fanboys gonna deny it.
>>122449617
The fact that you're so dedicated to insisting that it's him is suspicious.
>>122449781
Even more conspiracy theories from you.
>>122449261
It's inconsistent with what he has posted in other places before. I don't buy that he suddenly had a change of heart, people don't generally do that. There's also the problem that he wouldn't use "byuu" as his name in such a place if he cared about his reputation.
>>122449885
Perhaps he simply doesn't care about his reputation and is honest about his beliefs.
>>122449869
It's more like I don't believe any of the garbage that you spout and you don't have any proof.
>>122450021
I've his posts on Stormfront now prove it's really not him.
>>122449984
I doubt that, seeing as he frets about higan's popularity and coming out as a white supremacist isn't going to do any favors for that.
>>122450150
You claim that those are his posts when it is most likely an imposter, and you're probably that imposter. Also, the account isn't listed on his site.
Now then, I'm sure that this nonsense doesn't belong on an emulation general thread and you just want to try (and fail) to ruin byuu's reputation.
>>122450214
I don't see why not it can give it huge publicity . At present most people never even heard about it but imagine headlines saying that an emulator developer is white supremacist/racist/hater/bigot etc and people will use it anyway since there isn't available anything better anyways.
>>122450286
>You claim that those are his posts when it is most likely an imposter, and you're probably that imposter. Also, the account isn't listed on his site.
Nothing of this is definite proof.
>>122449059
Not likely. Anyone can make accounts on forums with any name, including taking someone's name and using it on a forum they don't go to.
>>122450721
By the same token I can say byuu on Reddit isn't the real byuu either. It goes both ways but none of you has any conclusive proof.
https://www.stormfront.org/forum/t1119287/
Totally the real byuu, guyz. Not a fake at all.
>>122450859
Except byuu has listed his reddit account as genuine.
http://byuu.org/other/social-media/
>If you see someone claiming to be me under an account not listed below, then it is from someone impersonating me.
That's all the proof we need that it's fake.
>>122450886
Byuu:I'm a longtime reader of Stormfront and admire everything you all do here.
There's nothing more valueable than one's own people as Hitler has said and Stormfront has done quite a lot to wake up the European people to the danger we are all under from Jewish supremacism and their clear intent to destroy us as not only a nation but as a race since this Jewish aggression against us doesn't just begin and end with America but is a worldwide effort by the Jews to destroy us via flooding every formerly all white country with non whites.
I have listened to the audio book of Dr. Duke's "My Awakening" and was blown away by his story.
Nothing in my life compares to it.
>Sadly most of my life I'm ashamed to say I've wasted on degenerate anime and the retro console emulation scene (in other words oldschool videogames and their consoles for those who may not know).
Well I don't want to be a degenerate anymore.
I want to help spread the good news of white survival to our people and join you all in this noble cause.
>I'm living proof that it is possible to wake up and emerge from the fog of liberalism and self hatred to clear minded race realism
Byuu was a libtard but woke up.
>>122450589
Nope, it is. Also, if "byuu" apparently associated anime and video game emulation with degeneracy in one of the posts, why would he still work on higan? Also, why should I need to prove you wrong? You should provide proof for your much grander claim.
>>122451126
>WAKE UP SHEEPLE
/pol/ pls
>>122451074
Not unless he deny it publicly himself . We can also discover the IPs of these accounts.
>>122451215
Just like he was supposed to abandon emulation to learn japanese yet he still does it.
>>122451246
>Not unless he deny it publicly himself
But he did when he said anything that was not listed there was someone impersonating him.
You can't be be this stupid...
>>122451393
He may have forgotten to list it or still isn't brave enough.
>>122451393
You're right. He isn't stupid; he is a troll who only wants to waste our time with nonsense.
>>122451472
Then it's fake until proven otherwise.
Simple as that.
How well will my PC do Wii emulation?
>>122451543
It's real until proven otherwise.
>>122452476
Please stop. No one will believe it no matter how many times you post.
>>122452476
Guilty until proven innocent?
>>122452476
Rumors are to be considered false before they're proven to be true. Besides, it was obvious that the account belongs to an imposter. Your behavior, the way that the imposter's words are phrased, and the account's creation date are blatant red flags.
>>122453072
I meant to type "until", not "before".
>>122452317
Somewhat fine if you're using Open GL
>>122452317
Might be okay. Maybe some higher end stuff would be a little slow? But maybe not. It's definitely worth a try
>>122453072
You can believe that's me if you want bot it won't change the truth.
>>122452974
In western society that's always the case when you're a man.
By the way we shall see if byuu is right and Hillary wins.
byuu:Polls don't matter.
Its all staged.
Jews totally control the political system

>>122454780
Not as hateful as byuu is.

Sleep tight porker.
Bought an RPi2 recently that I haven't had any time to play with yet, but shouldn't this little POS be ideal for running PCSXR rearmed? Considering downloading the whole redump jap set from rutracker to go along with it. Still haven't gotten around to try that fucking rollercoaster game
A while back I remember emulating Pokemon back/white on DeSmuME and doing a few tricks which made it work online with other Pokemon players who I assume were playing on their DS. What I want to know is if anyone here has done anything similar (or if it's even still possible anymore)
I feel like an idiot asking but I need help, can't use mednafen
I download it and when I run the .exe it only add some folders and nothing happen, what whould I do?

how do I get to emulate Xenoblade Chronicles with better textures and resolution?

That cpu is pretty fucking shit, but you might be able to run simpler games with it still.
It doesn't take much graphics power to run GC/PS2 games, at least not at x1 internal res.
After switching from stable to nightly, glui no longer works as a menu driver option. It crashes on load. xmb never worked for me, and the other two are ugly as sin.
What do I do?
>>122488475
A lot of work is happening right now with the menu drivers.
That's the thing about buildbots, they'll have builds ready even while the devs are in the middle of overhauling modules.
>>122488694
I see. I'll wait it out for now then.
>>122445617
I've just started emulating PS2 with PCSX2, and everything I emulate has this blurry quality to it. Pic related.
Is there anything I can do to reduce this blurriness?
>>122490007
Looks like you're using bilinear. Don't. Use proper upscalling.
>>122490996
I'll try that, thanks.
why exactly is there a wiiu emulator, even if it's far from finished, by now but no working ps3, xbox or 3ds emulator?
>>122491487
Wiiu uses over clocked gamecube cpus.
ps3 and xbox are complex machines. xbox finally has a start of an emulator. PS3 probably never.
3DS is starting to have a decent one.
>>122491487
The PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and 3DS emulators are all farther along than either Wii U emulators.
>>122491487
The Wii U's CPU is a triple-core, higher-clocked Wii CPU. It should be very close in behavior; it can still run Wii and Gamecube games. AFAIK, Nintendo had to basically beg IBM to make it as a custom chip because nobody else would want newly-designed PowerPC G3 CPUs in the 2010s.
I'm having trouble getting RetroArch to work. With Mednafen and a frontend I could get games working but those have very few options and I'd prefer to use RetroArch. Whenever I launch a PS1 game RetroArch crashes and I get the following error in the command line box:
unhandled setting UI: psx.input.port1.gun_chairs
(This happens over and over eight times with the port number changing, it goes up to port8)
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'MDFN_Error'
what(): Error opening file No such file or directory
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
What am I doing wrong? I've got the right BIOS files in, I'm using the mednafen PSX core I got from the core updater, and I'm launching from CUE files. Mednafen with Mednaffe GUI worked just fine, so it's something I'm doing wrong specifically with RetroArch.

or:

>>122492547
Are you using a nightly RetroArch build or the 1.2.2 stable? IIRC the stable build for whatever reason doesn't set the system folder by default. Check retroarch.cfg and make sure the system_directory is set to ":\system/".

Now I'm having trouble configuring the controller. I launch a game, hit F1, go to core input remapping options and change the settings and save, and tell it to load that saved file. But whenever I launch the game the controls are set to the default, that is the Xbox's B is equivalent to PlayStation's Cross instead of Circle. What is wrong? I checked the directory settings and it is definitely pointing to the right directory.

Thanks for ruining my achievement whore life.
How does retro achievements know when I'm playing a game with achievements? What's its detection method? And how do I know which ROMs it's looking for specifically?
Mudlord are you going to crack denuvo for us
>>122498070
Checksum. No-Intro ROMs work, and I'm sure there's multiple checksums per game.
Running Rule of Rose in hardware mode causes blocky dynamic shadows. Ive seen videos on the internet where people do not have this problem.
I was in an earlier thread, im new to this thing. how do I work around it?
>>122502891
PCSX2 is glitchy complex nonsense. There is no one nice settings for each game. It's a clusterfuck. So who knows.
>>122456892
>What about Project64 and GLideN64, which are currently saving N64 emulation?
Malware64 is saving N64 emulation? That's news to me. GLideN64 is whack.
>>122502891
Either use the software renderer, or start praying to your God of choice while changing random, trivial settings. PCSX2 is basically an encyclopedia of bugs and glitches, the ability to play PS2 games is just a neat side effect.

>>122503090

Does anyone have any settings that work well with this game
>>122502397
I have a patched Final Fantasy VI (SNES) ROM. A retranslation.
I didn't get a no-achievements message, but I didn't unlock anything for watching the intro cutscene. Hmm. Maybe I should play FF6 Advance?
>>122496530
The Core Input options are there as an override to whatever inputs are bound under Settings. Check the Input settings first.
>>122505672

I ain't settling for anything. I WANT IT ALL

The PC port.
>>122508548
You can get all of that with hacks except for the extra content, much of which was subpar. The only extra content I liked was the extra bosses, and at least Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon have been ported through hacks.
Guys im trying to setup PCSX2 and i did the whole install lilypad scp thing and used the scp driver installer to install ds3 drivers.
But the controller wont work in pcsx2 and in the pad options it shows up as [DETACHED].

Also, LOL at less censorship. They censored the Celes beatdown scene. Sure, at least it doesn't have any ridiculous "leaps of faith", but it's not entirely censorship-free.

>>122605630
>I think he meant in SW mode where GFX card do not really matter.
In SW mode you will need a 5x stronger CPU than in HW mode for the same thing. With integrated graphics you basically choose: pay too much for a top of the line CPU and overclock it to play in 480pLEB or just buy a GPU and suddenly you can play with a mediocre CPU in 1080p.

Kinda like how Doom is meant to be played with a keyboard instead of a mouse and keyboard?
>If you don't like it you should play a different game.
So in other words, shit games should stay shit games because the developers had bad opinions about how to design 3D movement with fixed camera angles. Nevermind that the lead developer of RE2 really, really, really likes the N64 version.
>>122606085
What if I'm a casual shitter who did play those games when they were released and didn't like them because of the tank controls?
>>122606183
Most versions of Doom shipped with mouse controls.

>>122606085
>Like I said you're just shit, all the people I've seen complaining about tank control are just casual shitters who never actually played those game back when they released.
Likely an N64 kid. N64 games avoided pure tank controls like the plague. The games that did feature tank controls, like Nightmare Creatures, felt utterly horrible on N64 since the N64 was so strongly associated with fluid movement compared to the PS1's clunk.

It didn't have vertical camera rotation because it wasn't a 3D engine, and no one had figured out how to do even the shitty faked vertical mouselook yet.

Thinking about emulating skyward sword. The problem is I don't have a wii remote I can connect to my computer. Any of you guys try playing this game without one and how did it go?
How to run VBA/VBA-M in fullscreen on my second monitor? It just slaps back onto my primary monitor. Really want to be playing it on my 4:3 monitor to avoid wasting too much screen real estate.
>>122650727

You have to set the default monitor to the 4:3 one I think. Also use BGB.

Why is it so hard for an emulator to emulate an emulator?

If Nintendo could sue emulators out of existence they would have done so decades ago. Who read or didn't read Oman doesn't change anything. Hiding your head in the sand and pretending it doesn't exist is ridiculous at this point.
Emulation is dying anyway, I doubt anybody cares about that anymore. I've seen on /v/ that nintendo plans to re-release the first Pokemon games on they eshop even though they've been emulated for decades. We are at the point were the average user prefers to buy a ROM on the eshop rather than installing an emulator.
Maybe Citra can be seen as a nuisance since the console is still being sold but I really doubt they give a fuck about N64 emulation. There's bigger fish to fry.
>>122671696
>the libretro core
They haven't updated it in over 4 months.

>>122671734
I think we've seen enough to know that companies aren't going to sue flee and obben sorse emulators. If they were going to they would've done so by now. We pretty much know all N64 emus are tainted yet they don't even try to stop that. It'd take more effort for them to hire people to sift through the code to try to find something than it's worth to them.

My intro to Twinaphex was when I told him I was interested in an "appliance" distribution around RetroArch. Because Hyperkin is a horse-shit company who can go fuck themselves for stealing everyone's code, pretending it was theirs, and then trying to be all "there's no piracy on our emulator system!" Yeah, die in a fire you bastards. Twice.
But Twinaphex accused me immediately of trying to steal RetroArch to make money. And it took two hours to convince him otherwise. I assumed bad day and language barrier. I later learned baseless ignorant accusations were the default, not the exception. The libretro project, under current management, isn't going to be the one to actually get it done. I can't fix that.
Every day pretty much it's fuck this shit or screw those assholes or whatever. Android is actually much more popular world wide. The only place Apple has any real hold is in the U.S.
Also, people don't love walled gardens. They love predictability and ease of use.
Most people are too retarded to not click on stupid links and get viruses or know how to deal with them once they do get them.
If you could give them predictability and ease of use while also giving them freedom, I guarantee most people would jump on that except for the most die hard of Apple fans.

Make an m3u file - it's just a plain text file that points to the cue files, like:
Metal Gear Solid (Disc 1).cue
Metal Gear Solid (Disc 2).cue
Then in when it's time to change discs, in the core disc options, cycle disc tray > change disc index > cycle disc tray.
>>122723658
Except when you only have 400x240 to work with, aspect correction looks terrible. Nearest results in every few pixels being doubled, and using bilinear doesn't look much better. It's very obvious which pixels are being blurred.
On higher resolution screens, it's not an issue, since there's various shaders, along with plain ol' bilinear, that effectively hide scaling artifacts that arise from aspect correction. You don't have this luxury with the N3DS. In order for it to look nice and sharp, you are pretty much forced to stick to 1:1.
Oh, and good luck correcting 384x224 CPS1/2 games down to 4:3.
>>122724238
I have never even heard of an m3u file. Is there a tutorial on this somewhere? I figured I'd just have to select the .cue files...
>>122724567

>>122725674
1. The 3DS has no shader support.
2. Turning bilinear on then correcting the aspect achieves the same thing as Pixellate at that resolution since you're working with 1x scale.
3. It looks like shit. It just doesn't work as well on such a small, low-res screen as it would on a 1080p monitor.
Do you even have a 3DS?
>>122725260
When I launch from the m3u I don't have any saves. I only have them when I launch from the .cue. What's the solution to this?
>>122726085
>2. Turning bilinear on then correcting the aspect achieves the same thing as Pixellate at that resolution since you're working with 1x scale.
Then just do that, it looks perfectly fine and you get the proper aspect ratio.
>>122720841
You'd be surprised. A lot of people who seem like real "law and order" types were like that and used that persona either knowingly or unknowingly as cover. Or at least so people theorize. Like J Edgar Hoover.
>>122726414
I already told you I tried it, and it doesn't look good. It actually feels like my eyesight is going out of focus.
In any case, you still don't have an answer for CPS1 and CPS2, since correcting those requires scaling down below 1x horizontal scale, as opposed to scaling up, which really fucks things up since you're effectively losing picture information. I am at least thankful that the 3DS screen accommodates such a resolution at all.

Because lower resolution, shittier audio even using said patch (the GBA's SPU is inferior to the SNES's, so it sounds more muffled), much more slowdown, and the localization, while more accurate, lacks much of the charm that Woolsey's had. The patch I'm talking about takes the Woolsey localization, accurately retranslates all the items, magic, and monsters, takes out the obvious censorship, and uses bits from the GBA localization and the fan retranslations where they make more sense.
Basically, it makes it the FFVI we should have gotten back in 1994.

The reason I'm asking is because version 1.0 and 1.1 of the game are pretty buggy, totally playable but buggy with crashes and other issues.

Not really arbitrary
The libretro API is MIT to allow closed source libretro cores/frontends

>>122747753

Low resolution games are impossible to make good on LCDs. Your best, cheapest bet is to get a cheap connector box, and connect it to a CRT TV. Then run emulators through that. The difference is night/day.
>>122747753
>>122747805
Use CRT filters. That's how we played it back then.
Alternatively if you use ePSXe you can try increasing the internal resolution. It should make the 3D models look smoother, hopefully.
If you don't want to increase the internal resolution I recommend using mednafen instead (either standalone or through RA).
>>122747753
Yes
That is one of the better looking games actually. Thanks to the background being prerendered they could push prettier character models
>>122747864

Do not listen. CRT filters are years away from looking decent. We need probably more than 4K. They simply don't compare to the real thing.
>>122747927

They're not perfect but they're good enough if you don't want to buy a fucking CRT just to emulate. It's enough to hide the pixels at least.
It pained me to discard my last CRT screen years ago but it was just too bulky.
>>122746981
>Not sure if SP choose MIT license or maister did
Yeah, I guess it could have been maister. I'm fuzzy on the early days of the libretro/libsnes project.
>but the licensing choices seemed pretty arbitrary to me.
Anybody that arbitrarily chooses a license is a full-on retard. It's a legal document that grants and/or denies specific rights to people other than the rights holder(s). It's just as dumb as signing a contract without reading it.
>>122753030
How can you expect an API licensed under the GPL to take off when there is a corporate bias against GPL for selfish reasons?
Libretro being MIT and RetroArch being GPL is pure pragmatism, plain and simple. The former helps the API reach an audience it would otherwise not reach, and the latter avoids too much abuse without any repercussions.
>>122692502
Wouldn't that mean they couldn't use GPL cores though?
>>122756773
I'm curious about that too. Since the libretro interface is generic as long as they don't add custom interfaces I'm thinking that the GPL won't contaminate the proprietary code.
It's like the binary drivers in the linux kernel, it's ok as long as they use a standard interface instead of custom linux code.
But then I'm not an expert on those subjects at all though so don't believe anything I've just said.

Not to mention the GBA port is censored, even in Japan
GLideN64 is adding a new texture filtering technique that filters the narrow strip textures the N64 tended to use for backgrounds as a whole instead of filtering each strip on its own, creating a "quilting" effect which gets more and more pronounced as you upscale.
https://archive.is/oQZmM (Curse you, blogspot filter.)
This will benefit a whole bunch of games that use 2D backgrounds in this style.
>>122761963
Here's a closer look at the improvement.
>>122761963
Use blogspot.ca, it's not filtered for some reason: http://gliden64.blogspot.ca/2015/11/improved-2d-and-other-fixes.html
It's crazy that the N64 has such absurd texture size constraints. Without those it could have blown the PSX out of the water but instead we have blurry overstretched textures everywhere. Silly Nintendo.
So I have latest version of MAME and trying to run any street fighter game gives me missing cdh or rom thingy. What exactly do I need?
>>122761963

>>122764558
I'm not going through the effort for your dumb ass.
It's not fucking hard to understand. Many things in PS1 games are made up of multiple textures. If you force filtering, it doesn't filter between different textures.
In principal it's the same exact problem as with forcing filtering on N64.
There has to be a reason people keep coming back to emugen. It has an addictive quality. You all really love it.
Emulating majora's mask on Mupen64Plus.
I can't open the bombers' notebook. (see pic)
I'm not experiencing any other noteworthy glitches besides this.
How do I fix it
>>122765021
Use RetroArch or Project64
>>122764558
That being said since the PSX GPU can't map a single polygon with a texture bigger than 256x256 I suppose you could see a seam in an upscaled full screen image *assuming* that it's rendered using polygon commands.
But you would have 256x256 tiles instead of 2pixel strips like on this N64 image so it would look very different. And there are ways to avoid this issue by not using polygon commands (for videos for instance). I don't know if it's really a problem in practice.
>>122764791
That's really not the same issue although I agree that it's related. This GlideN64 hack won't fix the problem of seams between different textures, it's specifically used when a single texture is rendered as a strip which is pointless on a PS1.
What do you mean when you say:
> It's literally anything that's not a background.
Do you mean 3D objects or 2D elements overlaid on top of the background?
>>122765172

With PS3 being far too confusing for normal humans to reverse engineer, Wii U emulation going closed source and Windows 10 only, and 360 emulation going in the PCSX2 direction which will force a total reboot, emulation is almost at its terminus.
Now, remember the spectacular past
When we lived in a world far more beautiful than now
Remember when we lived in our dreams

Remember the innocence in your eyes

This one seems to work although unsurprisingly it looks very atari-like without textures. I also seem to only get one framebuffer which is probably wrong.

They probably don't even match the hitboxes. They're just the polys that are used to map the textures.
Does Skylake offer much or any improvement running Dolphin/PCSX2 over an equivalent Haswell chip?

What could you possibly not play at full speed with that?
>>122874521
I don't know dudester. This is a fresh build.
Whenever I try to play any game on any Retroarch core, it stutters and has horrible grating audio glitches, regardless of settings, but if I play the exact same ROM on the standalone versions of those emulators (VBA-M, Snes9x) it runs flawlessly
Is this a normal thing, because I can't imagine why this would happen
>>122874840
Somewhere in the options menu there's some number counting down to try to get your refresh rate. If you click on that or press a button when it's selected once it stops counting down it will set that as your refresh rate. I had a similar problem and that fixed it. But there a re a lot of bugs with RA so I don't know for sure if yours is the same. Also mine only happened in full screen, but RA isn't exactly Windowed friendly.

What's wrong with PCSX2? I like PS2 and may one day be interested in PS2 emulation. I'm getting bored of N64 emulation.

>>122879283
A specific type of mipmapping that Gabest chose not to support. Ace Combat 5 and a few other games use it which causes a lot of garbage graphics. Pretty common example. The broken shadows in a decent amount of games are another. Basically people just "turn off" the shadowing in those games with skipdraw rather than dealing with them since they tend to be buggy. It isn't all shadows in every game but a decent amount of them.

I don't see what's wrong with wanting a WIMP UI. It's just preference. Your post seems counter productive, since from what I gather, RA devs care about popularity.

Don't experience anything like that at all.
Keep not reporting issues I guess that the devs are not even aware of and then magically hoping things get better, though. Things work just fine for the devs.
If they don't for you, it falls onto you to report it so the devs can do something about it. They don't work for you and you should keep your sense of entitlement at the door.
>>122882350
Literally never happened to me and I use RA on a bunch of platforms.
>>122882350
Is there something I'm not getting here? I see complaints for RA's GUI all the time, but I got over it in less than a day and have never had any crashes whatsoever. And I've used it on multiple machines. The only problem I've had is new builds not setting default paths for BIOS and even then that's not even something to cry about. Other than that its been smooth sailing since day 1.
>>122883908
The whole point is to create FUD and to steer people away from using it. That's why issues get invented out of thin air and nothing ever gets reported on Github. Because it's actually crap that never happened.

You have that and the shader controls dialog. Want any more? Send PRs.

Does not have anything to do with what you think WIMP is. It's not a 'native' WIMP interface.
> Qt companion UI
Optional, and just a stub right now. Takes people to care about it to turn it into something that works.
>>122879170
First emulator I used was a DOS command line-based SNES emulator, which I think may have been ZSNES but I cannot remember for sure. It was in 1997, which corresponds with when ZSNES first came out, so it may very well be. All I really played on it was DBZ Super Butouden 2, what with the novelty of playing a DBZ game that wasn't released here.

The menu bar is still very incomplete. It needs to be brought up to parity with the menu drivers functionality. It needs some dialogs for core options, input remapping, shader pass configuration, ability to save shader parameters, ability to Load Content and Detect Core, a dialog for the settings menu, etc. Once everything is at parity, 95% of the Windows user GUI complaints will go away.
