in MHFU, i just cleared all the level 4 elder quests and after unlocking the sword cave went back & fought kushala daora again to get more elder dragon bones. Every time i fight him, he flees clearing the mission (3 times so far), now when i go back to re-do the quest, its completely disapeared from the list. Im guessing this is normal, but whats the deal? im guessing it removes the quest to limit the amount of elder dragon bones you get at this point in the game? Was i supposed to kill him & fucked up?

Also, in case there are any other anons wondering about importing - keep in mind, there's NO guarantee that the game will even work with RegionFour OR HANS. Any new game, there's no confirmation that it works until someone tries. The only surefire way to know that the game will even run is to import a 3DS.
Something to keep in mind. Chances are that MHX won't have any issues running on systems with Ironhax/Ninjhax - but that's only an assumption based on the fact that the engine has played nice with regionfree solutions in the past. If you're the first wave of people using the solution that are importing, there is no support - you ARE the support for people that import later.

Are you in Snowy Mountains? If so, you can get it stuck to a wall when it's charging at you. It's a cheap tactic but pretty effective since you have free hits for like 4 - 5 seconds.
I don't remember if you can get it stuck in the desert area, but there probably is a way.

Tri was my first game (I've since played through Unite, no bully) and the experience of getting to HR only to get obliterated by pickle rex was unforgettable. Then it invaded almost every single HR quest, easily making it the most infamous monster in that game. Jho also does weird stuff like eat its own tail, break a wall of an area and create a new one, pretty much was the only monster that bait meat worked on, it's got a lot of character.

Jho IS the only monster that strikes a balance between design and difficulty. Ever since its appearance then, the quality of monsters dwindled to the point they were nothing but eye candy.
Not to say the old monsters before Jho were any better; Gen1 was filled with wyverns upon wyverns, with Garuga becoming the epitome of cheap difficulty in 4U, and Gen 2 just couldn't compare to Jho, especially since it was the gen where it introduced two meme monsters, Rajang and Tigrex..
If Jho is what killed monster designs in MH, then it's for the best. Nothing can match Jho, and no amount of Jho clones can help it.

I'm in love with the fact that it's a background monster. It's this horrible creature that just eats everything and can cause ecosystems to go extinct and barren, and yet plot never really pays it any mind.
In MHP3rd, a Zinogre was said to be terrorizing the village, but what is a Zinogre to a Deviljho; which is far more ravenous and would have been the PERFECT monster to serve as a flagship villain to any MH games village plot. But it wasn't. It's like a trump card they are holding onto.
Just about every other monster in the game you see get wrecked on screen by something else. You never see anything step on a Jho.
I'd be completely okay with a Jho variant being the extra boss monster after like a white fatalis that just wonders the globe and eats elders and fatalis alike as if it's nothing different.

Nobles would be like normal people who eat normal amounts of food.
Hunters would actually rightfully be seen as savages because they have super human strength and consume a fuck ton of food to power it. Almost very literally cavemen.
To us, it's game logic, where the character is just super powerful for no reason. But the moment you put the hunters into a noble-like position in front of people who aren't used to seeing that because they are sheltered fucks would cause hilarity of the toppest kek to ensue.

I've replayed the game many times with my bro and we always were afraid of fighting against the first Tigrex (HR2 to HR3) and the two HR Tigrex (HR5 to HR6, I believe).
Since he wasn't into grinding monsters that much, we almost always had underpowered weapons and shit armour.
We even had fought the HR urgent ones with Mafomofu once.
That was so goddamn hard sometimes but man, we had fun.Unfortunately, I can't hunt with him anymore since he didn't want to buy a 3DS for MH. ;_;

My goal is to beat every MH game naked using only one weapon type for each run. My current save is in MHFU using only the Bow. My next quest is "Ancient Beauty, Black Beast" (hunt 2 nargacuga) G2 rank quest. I play alone because it makes me forget about life in general and just think about the interaction between me and the monster Im hunting. Other hunters or the comrades change the dynamic and they aren't as predictable, which kind of breaks my zen moments I have while hunting. It's stupid, but MH is my self-destructive therapy.

Not so much ruin openings as the annoyance of having the monster move in a less predictable way. Positioning is easier and more effective if you have a reasonable chance to guess what the monster will do next (in the case of the newer games) or know exactly what it'll do (in the case of the older ones).

In MHFU, you can only increase your evasion distance with Evade Distance, and it only goes to +1. If you want i-frames, you need Evade, but you can dodge any attacks that hit his left side without either.

If you're running Homebrew instead of CFW, you should be extra careful about these forced updates.
When you install CFW you create an emuNAND partition on your SD card. Usually your 3DS reads the sysNAND off the system itself, but if you boot whatever CFW you're running you (should be) reading off the emuNAND , which can't interfere with the sysNAND. What happens is that everything is directed to the emuNAND and the sysNAND is ignored entirely.
Basically, in emuNAND the worst thing you can do is brick the emuNAND partition on the SD card, which can be easily restored with the right tools.
