I've been playing for over 20 hours and no NPC has taken anything from all the storage containers I've put near my workshops in Sanctuary.
I have a bunch of different ones to store things I don't want to put in the workshop.
One container for Weapons, One for Apparel, One for mods and fusion cores I don't want to carry on me and another one for junk I don't want to dismantle.
I've never lost a single thing.
Though I do have a theory. Maybe, things like guns and armor get stolen when your NPCs go into combat and automatically grab better equipment if they can. And that has never happened to me because my Sanctuary has never been attacked.
Just a theory, though.

As usual Bethesda's difficulty scaling is pure shit.
Playing on very hard and some enemies are realistically challenging but then you run into enemies that are literally bullet sponges.
Was just at the Galleria fighting the Mr Gutsy and even with all my damage and resistance buffs I couldn't kill this cunt before he 2 shot me.
What a load of bollocks.
So now that the initial hype of having the game has subdued, what do you actually think of it?
Once I hit 25(ish) hours it became more of a chore. The game just feels bland to me, once again quests are all the same, companions lack substance and the npc's are literally cardboard cutouts with the 4 dialouge options being identical between them (TELL ME SOMETHING, GIVE ME A QUEST, PAY ME MONEY FOR THE QUEST, IN DONE HERE)

Turns out when they break, the go into her inventory, so you have to trade with her, then fix it.
And it's not like power armor is hard to fix, just know what components you need and keep an eye out for them.

If you find a Double shot weapon, it's almost guaranteed to be awesome. I found a double shot pipe gun early and modded it into a pretty awesome early-mid game sniper that out DPS'd hunting rifles until they got better mods unlocked.
Pick a weapon specific perk and stick with it, along with modding them weapons.

I haven't. I didn't read up on settlements, so I only put 4 points in Charisma. I've spent the last couple of levels increasing it and getting Local Leader 2.
Also, the hunting rifle just in general feels worse. It's like the increased the reload speed, but with no extra damage.

The interface is awful, specially if you're on PC.
The button for Power Melee attack, weapon bash and grenade throw is the same.
On PC, the key for holding your breath when aiming is ALT and it can't be rebinded.

The gunplay is a huge upgrade in this game, and very good. only thing I don't like about it is I'm not a fan of ADS gunplay and this game is all ADS.
It's not a big deal though, I just prefer hipfire gunplay like Quake/Dirty Bomb/Unreal to ADS gunplay.
At what level does heavy combat armor start showing up in loot?
I'm level 40 and the only heavy combat armor ive found was on Baker in Quincy.

when compared to more linear shooters, it's only okay. but in the context of an open world shooter RPG, AI and enemy behavior in general is pretty godlike in my opinion.

Started on Survival. It wasn't hard at all, just annoying.
Switched to normal and found it too easy.
Right now, I'm playing on hard with legendary spawn rate increased to match survival. I'm probably gonna keep it that way since only the legendaries and some though enemies feel spongey instead of almost everyone like in survival. Plus the increased legendary spawn means I get to fight "minibosses" more often.

too many enemies in this game have really lame rushdown animations that pretty much make them impossible to hit outside of vats, and fighting melee enemies with melee is a huge chore since you're constantly getting interrupted or blocked or deathclaw grabbed every second.

Using Vsync is alien to me. 99.9995% of the time I'm turning it off, not on.
Anyone feel like the passive benefits for SPECIAL stats kinda suck and are unbalanced this time around? It feels like there's not much benefit in increasing them aside from unlocking perks. Intelligence is fairly useful and agility is required for a VATS build, but I don't notice any VATS accuracy gain from perception. Strength alone doesn't really increase damage a whole lot. Endurance is pretty weak on the HP gain until absurdly high levels. Charisma essentially just adds a little XP and gold. Luck there isn't much testing for yet.

there should be a quick-shoot option for melee builds. like, you hold a sword but then press mouse3 to quickdraw a revolver and fire a shot

That's what I thought but about an hour into wandering around the Sea I realized my max HP was around 30%. I hadn't used the power armor before that so I figured it's 600 rad resistance was enough and I didn't notice the red line in the health gauge for a while.

As much as I want to leap in to battle with my BoS bros, siding with them means Curie/Valentine/Hancock will hate me, right? I could go Minutemen but they don't really have their own endgame, right? Power armor is actually pretty underwhelming when it comes to rad resistance. You should pick up a hazmat suit, those badboys have 1000 resist and only cost like 50 caps. They offer next-to-no combat protection, however.

The only difference between HDMI and DVI is HDMI carries audio as well. DVI only does Video. So if your monitor has speakers and you want them to work, HDMI or DisplayPort are the only way to get that from one cable. Otherwise youd need to attach a separate audio cable if you want the displays speakers to work.
The biggest downside to HDMI over DisplayPort in that case is 99% oif HDMI cables wont support more than 60fps. So if you want to run higher than 60hz, you're SOL with HDMI. You can buy special cables that will handle it, but DisplayPort and DVI both do it naturally.

4's writing and rpg mechanics are still horrid. It's a big gameplay improvement over 3 and NV, and it handles the BoS better than 3, but the dialogue is all trash.
Does the small guns bobble-head also affect big guns? It sounds like it wouldn't, but the description for it says it modifies ballistic crit damage. A minigun uses ballistic damage, so I wondering.
I personally don't think it does, for the Commando perk says the same think - ballistic guns do more damage - but it didn't affect the minigun. These kind of things need more clarifying. Like, does melee bashing get affected by the Big League perk? Does a weapon modded to do more than one damage type suddenly get affected by perks that affect that newly modded damage? I've found like 20 fusion cores in ammo containers with 2 into the ammo perk and I have travel with 11 luck because I found left leg legendary with +2 luck

I have a question. Playing a stealthy character in this game sucks dick because as soon as you fire 1 shot every enemy in the area starts shooting/running at you no matter what stats/perks you have.
Is there anything I can do about this? If I use the console to crank up Agility will that increase my stealthyness? I dont want to be able to just walk around in front of enemies without being seen but having 12 ghouls run at me from across the map after I shot one of them with a silenced rifle is kind of silly.
So far I've had no crits outside of VATS, and I have 7 luck points. Is that supposed to happen or what.

A big thing for me was the character building and something about Fallout 4's perk system irks me. Some perks are just skill functionality (Hacking, Lockpicking, Pickpocket) spread out as perks and bloating the perk list. A lot of the perks don't feel really fun to pick, it just feels like I'm picking perks just so I can do basic shit that should have been possible anyway. I don't feel like leveling up SPECIAL half the time because I absolutely need to pick perks or continue feeling like I can't do basic shit. And then I look at some perks that just don't make sense due to arbitrary setup. Lone Wanderer for Charisma? The whole Local Leader bullshit?
And of course, the dialogue wheel that lacks skill checks or anything of real consequence or anything that gets much of a reaction from a npc that you wouldn't get from almost every other npc in the wasteland.

Try playing as a female character. The male character's voice acting is shit and doesn't deliver the lines very well.
There are many quest chains that have great dialogue and many side encounters that are very well written.
Avoid Diamond City for the most part. Diamond City and the Minutemen are the two worst parts of the game. Everything else is much higher quality, particularly Goodneighbor and its related quest chains.

im playing on survival and enemies felt spongy till i had a few points into a damage multiplier and had some decent loot, lvl 25 now and over 150 stimpacks.
ive got to the stage were im not wearing a helmet because ive got decent damage retention without it.
as a comparison, i was getting wrecked by synths in the arcjet facility, but i just took out kellog and the synths with out any issues.
im going to stick to survival even on my next playthrough.looking forward to some graphics mods

i have mouse 4 as reload last save and mouse 5 as quicksave. I play CS and autisticly hit mouse 5 to pull out my knife every 3 seconds anyways so i always have a current quicksave.

Play melee stealth+blitz. You can kill 2 standing right near each others enemies by sneak attacks before they realize anything.
Its riddiculously easy to play stealth melee. Playing on Survival.
Or take Gun Fu and shoot multiple enemies during single sneak attack with silenced pistol. But melee is lot easier to play, since kills everything even out of stealth a lot faster.

I was playing on the difficulty under Survival (I think it's called very hard).
I suddenly noticed I was immortal after eating a surprise rocket from a legendary super mutant and since then it has keep on happening.
There's a slight delay when I "die" and then I instantly get full HP.
This is preciesly why this is annoying me, I wanted a challenge but now there is none.
