you can randomly spawn them until you get what you want, but there's a more efficient way of doing it
legendary items are not specific items in the world. they are regular weapons with modifiers attached to them
you have to find the legendary mod in console
for example type "help two 4" and then look for the entry that says two shot. look for the id
after that you drop your 10mm on the ground, click it when in console so the refid comes up. then with the two shot id you found type "attachmod id"

How the fuck did these morons even bench this shit? According to them, I should get 76fps average and 63 minimum on ultra.
On ultra, the first time I left the vault, I barely got 40ish frames on pic related. Even after reducing the shadows, draw distance, disabling the god rays, motion blur, etc, I can't maintain 60fps and I even drop in the 40ish again in the first town.
I don't mind that the game looks like shit but it definitely shouldn't run that badly, especially compared to GTA V or The Witcher 3.
This time I swear I'll never buy a Bethesda game on release again.

Most Power Armors just laying around are incomplete. I found one frame that had no parts on it at all. I fixed up some T-60 I found on a dead Brotherhood Knight and slapped it on the frame. Otherwise I've found a partial T-51b, in addition to the Brotherhood T-60 I was given as soon as I joined and the T-45 you get near the start of the game.

You can only take the parts off of a corpse. You can't remove the frame. There's suits all over the place in various conditions. For example, the National Guard Depot and Fort neat Boston International Airport have power armor. You can also find a frame near a crashed vertibird, and a partial T-51b on the western edge of the map in an unmarked garage.

yeah, that's the problem. a lot of items only exist randomly in one variant throughout the world and only has modifiers that changes the variant. the base item is leather armor or a 10mm. the modifier applied changes the type of armor which isn't an item at all and it's the same with legendaries. legendary items aren't items they are modifiers. hope i'm being clear enough here.

Most of the game qualities don't really effect what you think. Lighting quality effects surface diffusion or something while all the textures, no matter the settings, are all one size. So don't expect the settings to effect much aside from Godrays.
That said, there are already several 4K eye textures out, so hopefully we'll see some work on armor soon.

If you're trying to collect a shit ton of materials for your house or are just a fucking pack rat and constantly getting over weighted. Put everything you don't need for venturing into a dead body or container type and then tell Curie(companion) to pick it up.
They can go over their weight capacity that way.

As far as entire quality presets go, no I don't think so. When you set it it changes a multitude of settings, like godrays, SSAO, object fade etc.
When you load the entire Medium or High preset, textures stays on High. When you set the game to Low, it switched to Medium. When you set it to Ultra Low, it switches textures to Low.
Imagine a texture is 2K res. Setting texture quality to medium sets iTexMipMapSkip to 1, meaning it skips the main 2K diffuse and goes the next step down, 1K. Setting it to low sets iTexMipMapSkip to 2, meaning two steps down. That would make a 2K texture a 512x512 one.
What they're doing is messing with the entire presets and getting upset textures aren't changing. If they messed with the Texture setting itself (which iirc is just low med and high) there would be an immediate difference.
Note this is Skyrim knowledge, but I highly doubt there's a difference in FO4.

If it does go up to Ultra, then I forego my previous statement: the difference between Ultra and High is probably a texture fade: how far an object has to be from a player before it starts using lower quality mipmapping. That would explain the VRAM difference without an immediate quality difference: they're really only staring at things directly in front of them.
That would explain why all the cropped comparisons look the same except for this one: the object is actually a bit of a distance away.

There's a setting in the .ini ether in the Fallout4 one or the Fallout4Pref one called along the lines of Texture Skipping. Set it to 0 and it, for the most part fixes that bug.

Reminder that modding a weapon doesn't delete old mods but put them into your inventory, and they have weight. You can remove them and store them, and you can reapply those mods to weapons later for no build cost.

Energy Weapons get stupidly powerful without VATS. Use mods for a DoT and you can melt a lot of things, or let the DoT chip away their health.

It's very useful early on since you can save a lot of caps. Later on you're somewhat reduced to buying from vendors for specific things if you're someone like me who has resorted to picking everything up and having a follower just to horde shit with.
Things like screws, copper, and various other things are not so common after a certain point and you will be eventually reduced to hoping RNG is on your side at a vendor, or hoping you missed something when you backtrack to locations.

Constantly. I once took out a boos by turning al his men on him. If you have lvl 2 of it, you can also turn an entire room into Last Man Standing. Also, once you incided a person to attack, they won't turn aggro on you if you shoot them since they are scripted to not attack you. So they'll just stand there as you kill them.
Downside is I think you don't get xp for their kills (unless you also took a shot in the enemy?)

Honestly no one knows what they do if you do collect them outside parts for making things. Someone on Reddit did some digging and found out that if you do collect certain checkpoints; like an example 10, 20, 40 so on that you are suppose to get something more or unlock something but no one knows for sure.
Same thing with apparently Jangles, Cherry Nuka too. Could have been the blue one I forget. There are quest checkpoints or something for all of these things. Also something for the model kits you find; they look like Vault-Tec Lunch Boxes but are blue, have ducktape strapped around them and when you pick them up you instantly put them together.
