Personally I love rangefinder on the Villainy. Being able to reach out with your primary farther than your opponent, and easily being able to land three crits from the burst, makes the Villainy one of my favorites although it's sights leave a lot to be desired.

Those three have been in the game's files since launch, and are available to view in the ship Kiosk now. They say they drop from Faction packages, but they do not.
Armor of Vows and The Climb are the unbroken versions of the faction ships Visible Hand, and Teilhard War. Vacuum Diagram has DO symbols, where Fermi Solution doesn't.
This ship is also listed as a "taken king quest reward" but no one has gotten it either.
But, because ships are so largely irrelevant, I highly doubt bungie has it on their to do list.

I'm confused about what to do. I have a 300 attack Fusion Rifle from a quest to complete a nightfall. The fusion rifle is called Long Far Gone. I have a 290 Black Spindle I just got earlier today. I have a 296 Stillpiercer.
Will the Black Spindle go to 300 if I infuse Long Far Gone? Or do I have to infuse both Stillpiercer and Long Far Gone into it? to make it 300. I would rather keep Stillpiercer so I can have both a legendary and an exotic sniper but if it's not worth having, well I should just let it go, right?

Lore wise it makes sense that the Vanguard can produce swords now. With the defeat of Oryx, Shaxx help and your endeavors the "art" of making swords has been rediscovered, and since the Dreadnaught belongs to the Vanguard now they have a fuckhuge supply of Hadium.
That means we might see more sword variants, or other melee weapons, in the next big expansions.
Häkke, Suros and Omolon are pure gun manufacturers they probably wouldn't be intersted. But Crux/Lomar would probably love to try and make a sword. And Saladin would probably love to make replicas of the Iron Lords' swords. At least Radegast's Blade should be restores.

It's really weird how something as commonplace as swords in real life today are dead and forgotten to history by Destiny's timeline. The material to forge a sword are right there on Earth, but Guardians only know what's reverse-engineered from Hive tech.

The world of Destiny seems modern to us, but compared to what humans had during the golden age the current situation must be downright medieval.
I think the game had gained a whole deal of extra atmosphere if Bungie had used more effort to display just how dire the situation of the Last City is.
Maybe we'll be able to enter the darkened side of earth some day, to see just how fucked that place is.

If you look down Vertigo you can see what Mercury looks like. Well, it gives a second perspective other than the lighthouse.

There's literally so much left of the world to explore beyond the confines of a Russian spaceport. Just like with every space romantic game, a world is not a couple hundred square miles space. Widow's Court and Memento give us an idea of how wrecked the world looks like, but it makes me wonder if there just aren't any pockets of humanity still surviving somewhere out there, possibly led by a rouge Guardian being an independent sentry in the dead zones.

PVP sniping is way different to PVE sniping, you need to be faster and able to aim your reticule much faster than in PVE.
You want to learn drag scoping, having your aim always at head-height & quick scoping.
It ain't easy, you just gotta practice, learning those skills in PVE won't really make them transferable except for maybe drag scoping.

If you ever play on any long-distance maps or ones that have narrow choke points, run a sniper as your secondary and use that as an excuse. It really breaks down into how steady your control is over aim and how quickly you can react. If you can familiarize yourself with what level a head would be at against any particular background, then you can cut the guesswork in half before someone even walks into your LOS.
I'm still not that good at sniping, but I get better with every game on Pantheon I get dropped in, of all fucking maps.

Destiny makes online multiplayer a really easy experience, actually. Some people are legitimately good at this game, but that's because they probably do nothing but the repetition of gameplay without much else. Before Destiny, I played Modern Warfare 2/3, and I pretty much sucked playing that, but found Destiny relatively easier to pick up. Of course I also sucked at this game in the beginning, but I do better now. Or rather...I have my moments where I can curb stomp an objective match with 27 kills, and then another game get killed for a 0.50 ratio. Whatever.

It depends with new hand cannons, low-mid stability will mean you can't shoot as fast as possible and will have to wait until you can see reticule and gun is back down. Range is already pretty high on eyasluna, so IMHO optimal roll is rangefinder and hidden hand with sureshot and braced frame.
Low stability really hurts hand cannons due to the nerf to accuracy and rapid fire nerf.

How'm I supposed to get a legendary artifact for my alt? I managed to get all of his equipment but the artifact up really quickly by getting the vendor gear and infusing it with stuff from my main. Managed to get a class item from a drop, I think, only at 274 but it's okay. That leaves my 200 artifact. Got quite a bit of stuff to infuse into it if I can find a legendary one, but so far no dice. I know the Court of Oryx is the best place to get artifacts, but the stupid game won't let me transfer over charged T3 runes to my alt, and I have no idea how to get more onto him. What's the best way to fix this? Is there some kind of quest I can use?

There is a Quest but doing the Raid is another option, plus I think the Quest requires you to do the Raid. Purple Artifacts have a low chance of dropping from blue or purple armor engrams, I had one drop off a blue. But if you keep running CoO and decrypting engrams at a high light level you will get drops closer to 298 which is much better than 274.

sunsinger in general is good for everything. in pvp a self ressurecting sunsinger can be annoying because they can insta respawn for ez revenge and in pvp are useful so your team doesnt wipe. pve wise stormcaller is good for crowd control and for pvp is an easy way to get a few kills out. not as good as sunbreaker shitters but still very decent. i like setting up one 3oC on scourge of winter and suicide bombing the boss with a rocket once he's at 5% or less. then repeating until out of coins or rockets. i've heard there's some secret timer bullshit for 3oC but i dont really know about that.

Appreciate I'm replying to a two hour postDED GENERAL DED GAME DED ORBIT NEEDS YOUR HELP GUARDIAN, but don't use self-rez in crucible outside of maybe trials. The other two perks (extra health or faster cooldowns for your team) are both more useful. Self-rez gets you into bad habits and is generally the mark of a shitter - I've lost track of the number of times a sunshitter has self-rezzed in front of me while I still have a sniper, shotgun or heavy aimed at his face or while I'm still in my own super (hell, I've had people self-rez into my fist of havoc aftershock or novabomb cloud and give me another free kill).

I've been playing since right after tDB came out and I've never participated in Iron Banner. I just never took the game seriously enough to be a high enough level and I was a shitter for the longest time.
Now, though, I've gotten better at PvP over the past few months, and I've raised my k/d from 0.7 to 1.35 just from playing and really just learning the maps and gitting gud and I want to play in the next IB. If I equip all my best gear I'll hit 306, but that's using one of only two 310 primaries I have (ToM and Zhalo, both of which aren't great for PvP) so if I equip my go to PvP pulse I'll be at around 302. Is that even high enough for IB or will I get raped by everyone because they're all 310+?
Also any tips for babby's first IB after playing Destiny for about 11 months?

the best tip i can give you is to go for A/C (whichever is nearest), then hope your team goes to B as a fucking team, and not a fucking rabble, then DO NOT FUCKING GO FOR THE OTHER POINT. If you cap all 3 points, you run the risk of switching the spawns, which can fuck your team up. It's better to hold down 2 points, because you'll know roughly what direction the other team will be coming from.

After the fall of Oryx, the Vanguard has mastered sword forging. Each faction specializes in a certain kind of sword.
Attack speed is in relation to current swords (great swords) where 'slow' is a little bit faster than the swords in the game at the moment and 'fast' attack much quicker. Damage numbers are also in relation to current swords where 'high' damage is slightly weaker than current R1 attacks and 'low' damage is much weaker than current R1 attacks.
New Monarchy manufactures Katanas. Katanas are medium speed, medium damage. Held within the sheath with the left hand. Drawn and used with the right hand. Think Vergil from DMC 3 and 4.NOW I'M MOTIVATED.
NM Exotic Katana: Arc Katana. R2 is a quick diagonal slash that leaves a damaging arc AOE where it cuts. The actual slash does moderate damage and the AOE zone that remains deals lingering, low damage. Can be used to zone enemies in both PVE and PVP. Minions of Darkness use the same logic when dealing with grenades and refuse to walk into it. Air R2 is a quick horizontal slash.MOTIVATED.
Dead Orbit specializes Rapiers. Fast attack speed, low damage. Regular R1 attacks don't do much damage but are fast and disorient the enemy due to how many times they're getting hit.
Dead Orbit Exotic Rapier: Void Rapier. R2 attack has two parts. First R2 press causes the Guardian to leap back a short distance. Second R2 press (while in the dodge animation) causes the Guardian to thrust forward. Landing the thrust deals a massive amount of damage. Think Razelighter R2 damage. It always kills an enemy Guardian in PVP unless they have a huge over shield. Air R2 is a diagonal dive.
Hidden perk: Blocking right as you are about take damage completely negates the incoming damage but depletes all of your ammo.

Example, a Vex Hobgoblin fires at you, you block it, your R1 and Block now have Solar properties. Another idea is that the sword takes on the element of the last damage deal ability you performed like the Susanoo Fusion Rifle. Air R2 is the Crota slam.

Skill differentials will determine whether k/d follows a normal or a power law distribution - i.e. how much better the good players are than the bad players. So now that the dust has settled from TTK, can we realize that it's a failure

This is true, but people aren't taking breaks, they're leaving because they are sick of the meaningless grind.
The raid, while uncheeseableits kektastic that this is something we had to worry aboutgets stale real fast, especially with the new gear drop system. How infuriating is it to run the raid, and continually get gear drops lower than what you need. Hard mode was also a huge letdown, as they had hailed it as a completely new beast when in reality, there were only minor changes.
Now we move onto time gating. Holy fuck, this is the gayest thing a game can do in a hope to string along content. I stopped decrypting all engrams because I don't want another fucking crest of alpha shit. The daily mission stuff is okay though, I'll give them that.
I would rant about crucible but, why bother wasting my breath on that when they still don't have dedicated servers.
Dedstiny a shit senpai. It's a shame considering this game probably has the best gunplay out there.

I'd like to add: The Story in TTK while 10x better designed than original (against the Black Garden) were both equally short as fuck.
Then Bungie develops Quests but doesnt design nearly enough Quests. Quests could have been used to put a lot of the Lore IN the game, people would want to do Quests to EXPLORE the different races, make a quest where you have to take out a Vex camp with 3 yellow bar minotaurs, add some grimiore to explain shit and bam, you have a worthwhile Quest.
Another thing is Bungie put empathisis on RNG and grinding but Quests reward shit and there's no way replay old Quests for loot. Replaying Endgame Quests should have rewarded Purple Engrams at different stages in completion. If anything to keep up with PvE and PvP loot drops.

Is it just me, or is the scorch shield useless in PvP? Been trying out a Monte Carlo build and there's like 3 second lag between connecting with the melee and the shield going up. I'd be surviving a lot of 1-on-1s instead of trading if it were instantaneous.

Scorch frequently saves my ass in PvP. If the gap is getting closed and I melee and they don't die the overshield saves me from their counter melee so I can either hit them again or shoot them.
The fuck is the point of the Force Barrier melee if you can't beat a warlock in cqc with it?
