I played FO3 and NV a little bit (maybe 30 hours combined), so FO4 is sort of my first, in the sense that I got it not 3 years later.
I'm playing on Normal and I feel like ammo is so fucking scarce. I finally get a good gun but never have the ammo I need to finish it off. I aim just fine. Is it not using VATS enough and the criticals? Or what?

The concept of having to fuel the power armor and maintaining it is a great concept, it's just the execution which is off.
1. First fusion core you find lasts too long, and you're not told it's something that runs out.
2. Being able to buy Fusion Cores at vendors makes the whole thing too easy.
3. There needs to be a way to recharge them, but it needs to be difficult.

For the record, if you get out of your armor and then use the rack to put it in there, it gets "locked" so people can't just grab it. Still, it would be hilarious if they changed that so even doing that won't protect it, but only if you can walk up to people and ask them to give it back to you just to have them go "Take it from me."

After a solid few hours of testing, I can say that I'm around 99% positive that Curie's romance options are locked behind the synth change.
Bethesda really didn't want you to fuck a real robot.
I'm just glad you can fuck with quest triggers through the console, so now I have a Curie who believes that she's human, while still being a Mrs. Handy. If you don't cheat, your only options for romance are human or synth, which is basically human.
Question, does special keep raising after 10? Because if you start at 9, theres enough upgrades to power armour + clothes to get you to 16 or 17.

I can sort of understand why they designed the assault rifle the way it currently is. If it was scaled to practical man-portable size it would look tiny in the hands of someone in powered armor, which I assume Bethesda knew that the average player would be taking advantage of as much as possible. If the stock was designed to fit to the T-51's chest/shoulder it would have made perfect sense actually, nothing awkward when you look at it this way.

Some companions apparently do, Curie actually had a line for it in one of her "Thoughts?" dialogues, but it was unvoiced, I'm assuming they either only voiced some of the choices for certain companions, or they wanted Curie to use your name but forgot to record the lines.
If anyone is curious, it's one of the new "Thoughts?" that pops up after you talk to the mutant doctor towards the end of the main quest. I'd love to know if anyone else got Curie to say their name, or if they're all unvoiced.

Use the .38 ammo guns. Raiders shit it all over the place so you never have to worry. Later on, once you start fighting synths, you'll be drowning in Fusion Cells so you can switch over to energy weapons.
I do agree that other kinds of ammo are too scarce until you get to Diamond City, and even then it's fucking expensive.

Use the tag option at the bench. You can select certain components as "searched for" and any time you see an item that breaks down into a searched for item it'll have a magnifying glass next to its name. I go for adhesive, all computer/robots/turret parts, ceramics for electricity, and aluminum lately.

It's absolutely mindblowing that you can't romance Curie, though. They try and hand-wave it with "oh, she only starts to love you when she's a synth", but fuck that. She's been malfunctioning for 100 odd years, breaking the in-universe "don't fuck your Mr. Handy" robot laws wouldn't be an issue.

Not required, in fact I regularly park my armor before fighting so I can sneak the double crit damage etc. In fact, my PA spends most of its time back at Sanctuary.
Hey guys, I'm getting desperate here.
My game has been crashing constantly, always between 1-20 minutes after starting. I've tried all recommended fixes, however all of them seem to apply to the application simply crashing to the desktop.
In my case, my display no longer detects my PC and the audio just whrrrrs. Only way to do anything is to force shutdown.
Anyone else experiencing this? I had no issue with this when I first installed/played, but today it's been unbearable. I tried uninstalling the recent update as well, but that made no difference. Using AMD R290 in Crossfire (tried disabling this too, no difference.)

Yeah no, Fallout's gameplay with all its flaws is a million times better than that garbage cdpr made. And the gameplay is actually good by itself, not just in comparison to that shit.
Witcher 3 has over the top writing and lore that bethesda will never reach even in a million years, but there isn't a single fucking game released in the last 5 years at least that has worse gameplay than that garbage. Just moving your character around and seeing it get stucked and trying to interact with something specific with a billion highlighted shit near your target makes you want to kill yourself. And since this is a game, this is as unforgivable flaw for witcher 3, no matter how good the writing.
And it's pretty atmospheric. I found that turning off the radio makes it really immersive.

After you've done the Sanctuary tutorial for it you should build a generator and a radio beacon. That will start bringing more settlers in. Then you just occasionally pop in to make sure their stats are green and if not build more shit to keep them green. You can order people to do shit in workshop edit mode by going to them, pressing E on them and then pressing E on whatever you want them to do.

If you have problems crashing to desktop when starting the game then you need to go into the Video folder within the Data folder and rename the movies. For example:

Run directly east of the starting area, about 1/2 a screen south when fully zoomed out on the map. You will find a town, with multiple locations (Unnamed town). One is a subway station which is a dungeon of sorts. Many synths and decent loot to be found. I left with 600+ ammo for my laser sniper.
Also, in this area is a medical research center and hospital. One is filled with gunners the other with super mutants. If you can clear these areas without taking too much damage you can get many health items, as well as optics for building weapon sights from the microscopes.
Near this area, there is a school. In the bottom is VAULT 75!
Vault 75 is essentially where they killed off all of the adults (large amounts of nerve gas in some rooms, and hints in terminals) and then pushed the children to there limits.
They would then after each graduation harvest the top 75% of students organs, for genome research.
I am only 8 hours into this game and I have only cleared maybe 10 areas in the top part of the map. Dont just do the main story first, explore and get lost in the wasteland. This is where everyone is going so wrong. Its alot of fun, just dont streamline your own experience as bethesda has streamlined theres.

He had no problems with my map. He jumped over the stairs, slung rocks when I tried to kite him around trees, and charged every time he had a clear path.
I basically relied on using bullet time from psycho jet to stay away from him and dodge the rocks, running in only to unload my shotgun in his face. Just modded it with a longer barrel, stock, best reciever, etc, so it's fact sheet is showing 98 damage.
Every time he got an attack off it was 30-50% of my hp.

On the topic of the building having flaws, the fact that ALL workshops don't share resources is just braindead retarded. I get it, the idea is venture out and bring it back for each base, to encourage continuous ventures and returns to base, but when I have 1000 wood/metal, ect at Sanc and I have no need for it, I have to loading screen that shit over to another place, load back, load there until I have everything I need to build.
Literally nothing would have been lost in making Workshops global. Bethesda just make the dumbest decisions. I feel I can easily latch onto a devs wavelength and understand what they wanted the player to understand and to do, to best enjoy the game, but this just doesn't work with Bethesda. in 3/nv you could turn a moderately shit gun to a fairly decent gun just by dumping all your points into guns at the beginning of the game, not to mention charisma was the most useless special that didn't do anything besides unlock a couple perk. now you have to get perks and each level past the first is level locked so you cant have a 50% boost to all your guns at the beginning of the game.

So as I was done doing the quest to clear Sunshine Tidings Co-op right after I used the workstation a gang of 3 super mutants, one legendary ran in and tried to kill me. One of them had a nuke or something in his fist and as I shot him he blew the fuck up taking me with him.
Was that an invasion on the settlement or just some random mutant gang walking around? It didn't happen again when I loaded and finished the quest.
