Half the appeal of Enhance is reusing these spells in a practical manner in melee. It's what makes you feel like a melee/caster hybrid. Now we've got rage and warrior attacks.
I'm certain there was a way to make the basic Enhance Shaman rotation feel tighter and more satisfying without turning them from the unique-last-cooldown-based-dps-battlemage spec into BadFury

they didn't replace anything. maelstrom is literally the exact same thing as lightning shield charges, it just goes up to 100 now and you can spend it on flame shock and healing surge instead of using mana. elemental is functionally identical to how it is now only multistrike is your mastery again instead of a stat and your rock daggers are gone (further hurting elementals poor mobile DPS)
they've done nothing to address any of the core concerns with the spec. the shaman remake was extremely lazy.

The core rotation is going to be mashing Rockbiter for maelstrom, maintaining the Flametongue buff, using Stormstrike whenever it's available and spending excess Maelstrom with Lava lash while still ensuring that you pool enough for a double Stormstrike proc.
Very similar to how Combat Rogue and Fury Warrior rotations have been historically.
I'm not super upset about the Enhancement preview, I'll hold my judgement until we see all the skills and talents. If they actually deliver with making totems not awful and give us some decent utility it should be an ok spec.

The way I see it is we lost damage. We lose molten earth and only gain multistrike back if we take the talent, lose fulmination for a system that does the exact same thing only its shared between all the shocks and kept the Flame Shock needs to be on the target for LvB to do anything. So unless they're giving us a 10% to 15% damage boost on most of our spells we'll be worse off than before.

They need to change Stormstrike to do nature damage instead of physical. As it stands on their blog it doesn't scale with stats but Lava Lash does, so they'll either have to buff it every patch like they do now or the rotation will get all out of whack at high gear levels towards the end of an expansion.

Garrisons and Tanaan Jungle. I loved the Farm in MoP because it wasn't forced on you and was just a small place you'd visit for atmost a few minutes a day. Timeless Isle was fun because it wasn't tedious and boring as fuck with all the rares and such you can do. Garrisons and Tanaan Jungle are shit versions of both of those.

Actually, it was because Metzen wanted Garrosh to be the evil counterpart to Thrall's "good" orc. Seriously, look it up. Some of the writers wanted to make Garrosh into a "harsh but fair" sorta warchief, like Doomhammer 2.0. Hence him throwing that guy off the mountain in Stonetalon. Then Metzen came in and sperged out until they started writing Garrosh as a villain for Thrall to beat. That's why his characterisation is all over the place in Cata.

Fury's relatively unchanged with a few more Berserker abilities thrown in which I think is great.
Arms looks like its gonna be slow as hell again, but I guess we'll have to see how much rage autoattacks generate.
Prot still looks solid and reliable, glad they're sticking with that theme.
All-in-all it looks good, but not as good as the DK reveal. Wouldn't reroll based on this alone, but Warriors already have a ton of cool abilities too. Really hoping Ravager stays and becomes a viable option.

I have been keeping up with the Warcraft movie and I am very excited about. However, I have never played the Warcraft games. I want to follow the lore, but in my research I noticed that Cataclysm really screws things up and changes the content. That is, from my understanding, events that happen for a new character pre-Cataclysm are not concurrent with the same quests/story post-Cataclysm.
The changed intro implies that Cataclysm's level 1 quests for new characters occur AFTER WotLK...even if the player hasn't installed WotLK or Cataclysm.
Am I correct in my understanding? If so, is there any way to play that content that Cataclysm 'wiped out'? To what extent did the timeline shift and how many quests were changed as a result?

If you actually care about the story, though, you might want to just read a couple of the better books and the lore write-ups they do on Blizzard Watch.
There's a lot of story and crap to discover within the game, but so much of it is hidden behind boring and irrelevant quest dialogue that you are best off if you've been playing the game for years and just casually soaked it in over time.

I play on an RP server, yes, faggotry I know. It all seems so grey. I quietly prefer the Horde, but the population is utterly null and all my friends are on the Alliance, where you have two RP options.
1) Serious Military Guild where you are treated like an RTS unit while the commanders all fuck around.
2) Scumwind gangs and criminals that ends up being some terrible furry noir with all the retarded dogmen bumbling around.
So, the class I've got most experience with is Shaman, played for years and tried every variant of it. Normally I heal for my friends since nobody wants to tank or heal.
I've been testing waters as a death knight, but I can't stand the terrible stigma they have. Even in the mess that is RP, everyone knows that any death knight must be the absolute holy grail of all that is awful and ignores them right away. Far too many years of seeing godmoting retards being more edgy than Oddjob's fedora have conditioned people to be like that.
What do you think? I'm ranting I know but all I want to do is help my friends have fun and have fun while doing so, be it pve, pvp or rp.

It's all about how long you can apply pressure, endure pressure from the enemies, and time your abilities just right so you'll be ready when someone makes a mistake.

Im not really getting how Brewmaster works now.
This is kind of gross. Mistweaver feels too much like the others now. Its so immobile.

All classes have had huge RNG in their priorities for ages. I just feel like with these changes Brewmaster is all about dodging small, frequent hits rather than bracing for big hits. Even with 20%+ its too unpredictable.
