Well, if you even go elemental , then you want to use those weapons on elemental-weak and raw-resistance enemies in the first place. So elemental phial wouldn't be bad in that case.
If by "elemental" SA you mean just a raw SA with some extra element on the side, then yeah, power phial would obviously be better. But it's can hardly be called an elemental SA then, since elemental damage is gonna be minuscule.

In any case, I've said it before: CB and IG shouldn't be nerfed. Rather, all of the other weapons ought to be raised to a similar level of functionality. Make them more fluid. More transforming options for SA, for example. More mobility for HBG. Cross is adding a whole bunch of these things, but it's too early to tell how they'll affect everything. Nerfing things is just going to make people upset. Give us MORE toys, don't take them away.

SA desperately needs some sort of synergy between its two modes, which are basically gimped GS and gimped LS tied together. And the GS mode is a clear winner, as expected.

I don't think many people here have harked about SnS being bad. Personally, I find it to be the best its ever been.
As for the best SnS's, I've been told (cause I've also asked this question);

>Filter them by an element/status
>Pick the one with the highest - go craft that
>Then while they're still filtered by element/status, click to sort them by raw

And even then, Status ones are generally better in group hunts, high element and/or raw are good for solo.
Its a lot of effort but I generally try to craft every weapon of my main weapon-class anyway.

The difference between SnS (and DB) and the other weapon is that SnS simply can't reach anything but the ankles. So in the end it's the SnS user whose best bet is just wailing on the monster.

I always do some research with the kiranico app on my phone before a SnS hunt, since it sometimes can be worth bringing a high-status weapon for solo i.e. para for Monoblos, sleep for Chameleos.

Even then it doesn't have to be purely offensive - I once gemmed in Wide Range and was able to fufill a clerical role; is they got poisoned by Chammy's clouds, Antidote. If they got ice-blighted by Kushy, Nulberry, etc etc.

Bounding Dalamadur isn't a weapon you use S+1 on stupid. Every other endgame glaive requires S+1 to be useful.

Even if Akantor tanks hits, it has huge openings between its attacks during which Jho can wail on it with slaps and tackles. Also I forgot Jho has a defense down attack, too, so that spells more trouble for Akantor.
But yeah, I still think Akantor would win just on size and a slight range advantage.

It has far from all monsters. Wouldn't even make sense anyway since some are just too similar so it makes more sense to skip them and put them into the next game to keep it interesting for the autistic fans.
It definitely already has too many SHITTY monsters, too. Fuck those crabs, fuck Kushala, fuck Garuga, utter trash monsters not fun with any weapon. Just annoying, even the gear is useless and looks bad.
Should have been Qurupeco instead of Garuga or a Qurupeco subspecies. Alatreon instead of Kushala.
