It isn't. Fashion hunting is about mixing something that looks good, often at the detriment of having an optimal skill set you'd otherwise be able to manage with what you have available. Though that doesn't mean you can't have a great array of skills at the same time either.
There's no creativity in full suiting and 'fashion' in video games generally always refers to mixing and matching armour pieces.

Leviathans are actual wyverns but their ancestors branched off the earliest, and are now the sprawled-out form, with short limbs near each other on the body and long necks and tails. Not all are aquatic, but seeing as their ancestors came from the oceans, their bodyshape is best suited to swimming through -something- so many at least live between a liquid-like area (sand, lava, etc) and solid land.
Amphibians are basically colossal frogs. Long back legs, short bodies and the barest suggestion of necksGobul and Nibelsnarf have tiny limbs of equal size so thats why they're not Amphibians
So far only one is actually amphibious, but many toads and frogs are completely land based and never swim, so Amphibian is kind of an archaic name anyway and the localisation team could've done better.
All frogs are Amphibians, but not all Amphibians are amphibious.

So when I was asking for Dragon weapons, someone recommended Enduring Surrender. Looking at its stats, I can't help but notice it has absolutely shit raw. Does the high Dragon damage really make up for it on fights against Dragon-weak monsters?

Furious Rajang and Savage Deviljho do behave like the normal specimens' enraged state (then get another rage mode on top of that), but no, variants were always just individuals from a species that just had some accidental condition (mutation, madness, starvation, whatever) that superpowered them.
