You realize that from his perspective he did the right thing in disobeying genocidal orders. The fact that he was hounded by them and forced to fight and flee does not form an optimal base for relationship of mutual trust and respect, even if the knights were just doing their job - especially considering they did so in service of an evil tyrant. (as opposed to good tyrant lol... actually, does Koth have any comment if you bring him to Ziost as companion?)

I'd understand this reasoning for hating a character with someone who turned Jedi, not with an officer-gone-smuggler. I'm sure the conflict between them will die down as story progresses, there's already some sign of this happening as it is.
