Do you have the ability to do their own personal arcs like with class-specific companions before, or do they just stand there waiting for summonings? Also, how do you find 8 classes worth of companions in a single ship? I'm guessing they only appear all together in the Gravestone and the class ship only gets the 5 originals plus HK-51 and Treek.

2. No. They are only companions. There is no more interaction after recruiting them other than using them in combat as companions.
3. They don't appear on the ship, they appear on Odessen. Your ship is woefully empty after Chapter 9, and you don't return to the gravestone until Chapter 10 (presumably).

You can solo tactical flashpoints that don't require a 4 man player mechanic with a level 50 influence companion. Buy 1900 rank 1 companion gifts from fleet for 380k credits and that will bring a companion that loves that gift to level 30 in influence. ANother 900k spent on rank 1 gifts will get you to level 40. From level 40 to 50 you need to spend around 4 million credits on rank 2 gifts to get to 50. It's the most time and cost effective way assuming you macro the shit out of the gift giving.
