Rogue Control is a legit Tier 2 deck, I've been climbing with it. You have to run neutrals for your healing and taunts but it holds up about as well as Control Hunter.
The biggest weakness is when the opponent gets more minions than they're supposed to, like Patrons or Quartermaster, because you can't use shitty inefficient cards like Blade Flurry if you're going for value. As far as dealing with standard aggro or standard control it's good.

Black Knight used to be good in a few decks. I ran it in Midrange Hunter for awhile during the Naxx days. It's a bit too slow now for the meta, but it could come back. Works great versus Ancient of War, Tirion, Druid of the Claw, Handlock, etc

Instead of outright nerfing Warsong Commander into a card no one will ever play they could have just banned it from Ranked matches, keeping the card as it is so it could still be played in Casual, Arena and Tavern Brawl.
I get it is a digital game so they have the ability to freely change cards whereas it's much more difficulty for physical TCGs, and I would be fine if they could actually balance and change cards appropriately, but they've proven time and time again that all they can do is completely neuter cards to beyond useless.

I like that there's more murlocs, I don't understand why people hate on new pirates/murlocs like they should never be good, but the paladin murloc spell seems awful. I'm more optimistic about the shaman one but even then its probably not great. Murloc wisp is fine, maybe enable a hybrid murloc/hobgoblin deck. The new legend murloc I would only play in Shaman but its probably pretty decent there since anythings better than totems.

Holy Smite isn't bad, it's just Cabal + Shrinkmeister (or even Shadow Madness if you can squeeze that in) absolutely destroys their tempo.
Like... if your Cabal takes Hunter's Haunted Creeper, that's pretty good deal on its own. Also you can always plop down Shrinkmeister if you need minions on board, fast.

Missed the tempo part, but if you have brm there are some pretty fun mech decks with flamewaker/spare parts synergy. Other than that, most of the late game stuff besides boom/antonidas etc is pretty slow and you'd probably be moving away from tempo mage per say.

You'll run a slightly sub par deck (and as more cards get added this will be mitigated) in return for completing wrecking aggro as any control deck.

You know what causes the entire meta to be hyperlategame borefests like control warrior or freeze mage if not straight facerush? Druid. Druid is the fucking cancer on this game simply because if you didn't win by turn 7-9, there is always the FoN+SR combo threat of ending the game.Your deck HAS to be able to kill the druid before that or be healthy and safe enough that it won't.
The entire meta revolves around what wins against druid, always has. It's bullshit.
