I rarely post, so I'll just try to keep some discussion going.
I've been experimenting with breeding rexes the past few nights. Can you guys post the base stats of your rexes so I have a comparison? Even if you don't remember all of them, the hp and damage are enough. You can guess by the hp and damage per level you ge.
Most of the ones we've knocked out look like shit, but we have a few tamed ones that look good.
Rex 1: 7800 hp 348% dam
Rex 2: 4000 hp 393% dam
Rex 3: 5200 hp 378% dam
Rex 4: 5600 hp We haven't gotten a baby with its damage yet, so we don't know it.
We're ideally going for a 7.8k hp rex with the highest damage possible, or maybe 7.8k hp isn't all that impressive and we're stupid. This is why I need more samples.
One day someone is going to blow up nfa PvP and this thread will be alive with drama again.

The game is already imbalanced as fuck. I would care less about the shitty meta if it were at least fun, but driving monster rexes is an exercise in frustration. Being on foot is more fun but you're basically worthless in a fight that way. Every additional level they let the tames get just pushes the game more and more into Rex v Rex slamfests.
There's more to the game than the combat, which is pretty bad, but building sucks too, and the dinosaur management is just filling troughs and using them to smash some rocks.

There just isn't much to talk about. Surely even you are not so dense as to misunderstand dozens of posts telling you to bring up any discussion topic other than drama.
The game sans people just doesn't offer anything compelling. Hence why the general is only active when there is drama. Outside those times people just play the game because it's so simple all you have to do is play longer, there's basically no room for discussion on how to do things because it doesn't matter, you are constrained to only a couple ways to do things and they are generally vastly different in effectiveness.

The time needed to tame a dino or breed one is killing it for us.
Anyone knows any mods or something to make breeding and taming even faster.
I got a mod that makes kibbles like 5 times more effective + we got the taming speed slider set as high as we could.
We don't want to set our dino food consumption to a higher rate [should help tames munch on those kibbles faster], couse we're afraid it'll make our baby dinos starve to death.

If you tamed a Rex at 150 and it only had meh HP and then put a lot of stats into that, the heir is still going to inherit the original meh stats.

Why is it so hard for people to understand how an AC works? It's just expressed via hyper- and hypethermal insulation instead of HURR HOT AND COLD, but it's the same concept behind different armors.
Now if I could get any confirmed data about what's the average mainline temperature that AC create with nearly perfect insulation (around 2000 or so) instead of baseless opinions, that would be useful for breeding considering some eggs need 30 °C to hatch.
Do AC stop raising/decreasing the outside temperature at 24 °C? Any air conditioned scientist here?

4-5x taming is pretty good. If you're basically alone then 2-3x xp will force you to see some grind but will let you pass the boring parts quickly, though you'll want to up it after level 65ish, when the exponential growth kicks in. 2-3x resources is pretty good too.

The game is very straight-forward, there's no innovations and it's obvious from the start what to do and how to do it because you only have so many options.

There are less obvious things like min-max stats e.g. when do I stop leveling health and how much stamina do I really need? but that can be answered with ten seconds of playing the game.
The only thing in the dark with this game would be a strucure meta because of how retarded the building system can be, so you can try to design bases and playing around with shapes and figuring out weird ways to make a platform 3x larger, but that's really about it. Between the devkit and third party tools we already know everything else about the game that would typically be discussed in another general, the mechanics and gameplay are simply too simple at this point in time.

I'd consider that entirely too high and I'm on a private server with just me and a friend of mine.
The real bitch is solo taming and having to stay around for hours having to make defenses, torches and keep surroundings clean all by yourself -so yeah, much faster taming is okay in my book (even if I keep it at just 1.4).
Experience I'd consider anything over x2 simply being a lamer unless you know you'll just be able to log once in a while. Getting to lv 40~ is piss easy, the real bitch is 70+. Engram points aren't really a problem if you don't learn every possible saddle (getting some BP from the drops) and avoid learning pvp-based shit like bear traps and the likes.
Gathering might be a problem in the mid-early game where you've learned how to make your stone base large and pretty but have yet no means to establish a huge stone factory. Otherwise that's fine. My suggestion: 1.5x gathering, BUT keep the resources respawn time lower, around half the time or a bit lower. That way you leave the area, do your thing somewhere else and rocks/wood/metal has already started respawning by then. Don't worry about the rest, if you're solo resources are not a problem, just choose your base location wisely with those in mind.
Anyway not having to worry about other players means you can use entire mountains or caves as your personal mines. It's good, especially when you realize you can just leave your ankylo and doeds there, take a trip from your base with a couple of weight-slave argents, fill your mortars and repeat

PvP decay was off on the last server too, if you want the eyesores gone take care of them yourself, c4 is easy on these rates and it's not like they're blocking anything important.
My case against pvp decay is that it lets you know when someone is on break so you can hit them more easily while they're offline with 0% chance of them finding out about it until it's way too late.
I'd be all for removing the Me pin and making the nights longer though, at the very least for the duration of this event so we have a chance to find the dodorex and kill it before dawn.

I only said that's what I'm using, but
1. As a player I'm not entirely opposed to grinding a bit
2. Those are the multipliers we settled for long after starting the game
3. It all depends on what game experience you want. NFA pvp follows a game philosophy: it's not mine, but mich higher everything makes sense when wars, robberies and mass destruction are frequent. Private servers don't have that.
My advice is, experiment with stuff. Understand what your beefs with the game are, and try to make up a way to change the multipliers so that it all stays balanced -that's its own brand of enjoyment for me.
One last thing: I realized 1.4 taming is with kibble in mind. You might want to go for something around x2.5 time and ESPECIALLY a lower food rate multiplier if you're going to need tons of prime meat, try something like 0.6 for starters.

Yes, that's why I gave the base stats of the rexes. Damage per level is 10% of the damage i tamed with, hence you can use your damage and health per level(27% base hp) to gauge what its base stats were if you can't remember.
It is the first rex above 7k hp I've seen, but after looking, I'm seeing people with 8k and near 9k hp rexes bred. Problem is every rex I knock out over 100 has dogshit stats and I abandon it, so I don't have a good idea of what great rex stats are.

I wish the player base was more creative. I feel like the reason no one talks about anything on these threads is that they simply aren't creative enough. Even if you play PvP there's no reason why you can't build something nice or role play little. On my server this guy made a huge castle and new players have to tend to crops and keep dodo coops like serfs till they can gain knighthood or become a master crafter. The main rival tribe has their own castle in the north and play as Mongols on wolfback and raid to sustain while a smaller tribe roams the map on paracer bases like nomads
If the devs spoon fed you all ideas like this or implemented some features to encourage you to do so I think you'd all be better off

But there's plenty of reward, more so than just playing as is. the different tribes create different ways to play that are more interesting that hording shit in a metal box. As a wanderer you can trade shit and see the island from a ground view. Being nomadic forces you to be creative on how you design your paracer/bronco platform and how you defend other pack animals. Course I guess it's really all to imagination but if the devs caught onto this kind of stuff maybe we could have different ways to play the game instead of the crap we have now.

Because building in this game sucks. It makes things lag to boot. Finally, after a hundred hours digging stone to make a mediocre castle, some dick is not going to want to play along and will come along with a few dozen grenades and level it. Or someone with an aimbot will come and destroy you, take whatever you had, and proceed to quit the game after using all your resources to drive your rp buddies off the server.
Unless of course you're on unofficial servers, where there's a chance the admins will do something, and you can set the rates to not be mind numbingly tedious.
Sure the roleplay might be fun but it's pointless when specializing in any one aspect of this game just results in burning out much, much faster, and that's if you manage to find cooperative players.

No, I understand completely what you're saying. What you fail to understand is that what you want relies 100% on the people you play with. It only takes one tribe who doesn't want to play by your rules to ruin it. Hell one person could do it with enough time played.
The game, as is, does not allow much creativity and punishes what little freedom it gives you. You can roleplay all you want but you will frequently break character or rely on other people to fill in where you can't.

The mindset of "best way to play it" is literally what's wrong. How exactly is it the best way to play it if all you are doing is burning yourself out faster. Also SotF seems far more suitable for that mindset than playing regular PvP since that's the object of the game mode and their is an actual winner. Maybe make another SotF but where a whole tribe can win as opposed to an individual.
trying to be "the best" on a PvP server is pointless considering that anything can be rebuilt and anyone can respan whenever. Also what's the point of being the best if you don't get any perks for being the best. It's the most hollow and pointless goal and I don't understand why so many people are obsessed with playing only that way. Honestly, I think the 100% player driven world thing isn't suited for this game. It makes it about min-maxy and dull. Mmo elements would've done wonders for the world. Because the best way to play is also the way that keeps you from burning out the longest. Everything you can do quickly gets tedious, and is only relieved by doing something else. You want to be a master builder? Fuck you, the build system is buggy and no one wants to gather stone for you. You want to be the beast master? Enjoy sitting in front of your computer doing basically nothing for ten straight hours minimum. You want to be a miner? The only effective way to do this is with a convoy of dinosaurs that are going to bug out on every obstacle, and you're going to be pressing w+m1 for hours.

The are "effectively" immortal. The zomdodo pets (as well as the dodorex hat) are all part of the event. When the rex dies (was bugged where it just despawning triggered, unsure if it's been fixed yet) it leaves behind claimable zomdodo minions.
Now, contrary to popular belief, they CAN die. It's just that they can soak up low yield damages, like for example, punching them to death won't work, but feeding them to a 1k melee rex will.

Try throwing a spear (hold right click). They do a lot more damage than a regular melee stab. You might be able to kill a parasaur (two legged sanic herbivore) with a thrown spear or two before it starts to run away.
Alternatively you could just look around the beach and occasionally find dinos stuck on trees.
As for the cold thing, as far as I know it'll reduce your food faster as the temperature gets lower, and when you pass a certain threshold (-5?), it'll start sapping health in addition to food.

Level up by crafting wooden foundations (demolish them to get back half the ressources) until you can craft bows and arrows (Lv. 15) then you can hunt more effectively. Also - though that's too late now probably - level melee damage until ~200%. You can hunt easier and also get materials 2 times as fast (which is why you also skill that for gatherer dinos, just fyi). Also always wear cloth armor and equip a torch if you don't need your other weapons - that way you will get less cold and thus need less food. As for the food - just eat berries at first. You can never have enough fiber anyway.
Massive fucking bonus points for leveling if you can aquire (steal) shittons of hide and build lots of rafts. They give 90EP each.

I'm not gonna fucking sugarcoat it, the place has it's problems but also a few advantages. We will never run out of drink, have access to the coast and even a bit of metal and no temperature problems - but, pic related, we will have to live in a tower and we will probably be unable to fit most dinos in there due to the small space you need to get through in order to get there.

To this day, no one has gone down there and attacked it or anything save for one guy who got gunned down by turrets. It wasn't an assault that did the place in as a usable location, it was the damned fog that made it impossible to actually do anything there.
Well, that and the Peleiosaurs and sharks that eat anyone trying to leave if they've used it as a spawn point, but that was known beforehand since it makes a great defense against curious investigation. Nothing valuable enough in underwater caves to bother fighting them for it, even though you can just use some lazerus chowder and about 50 arrows with a crossbow to kill them, and they won't follow you to the surface.

C4'd seven metal bases within the span of six hours, two of which were guarded with tons of plant X and turrets. Other tribes are just content to pay them tribute every week, something like 5k cementing paste or various amounts of kibble, far too spineless to actually stand up to them.
Any other official servers people would recommend? I would prefer one without Chinese or Reddit or Goons, but it might not be possible anymore outside of private ones. Unraidable base?
For a while, I was building bases on my server that were just metal walls and doors stacked thick together so it was one giant autismcube with a vault full of feces in the center, but people on my server will still blowing it up almost daily even though they knew there was nothing valuable inside. Like, the entire point was to make them raid a base that's a pain in the ass to crack and has nothing valuable in it, but these faggots still did it every day for two weeks.
So now I've taken to shitting up the server with metal pillars near obsidian and metal deposits in various places. They get removed pretty quick, but anytime someone wants to mine those locations, they have to C4 the pillars and wait for a new spawn. I have a feeling I'll get tired before they do though, but it would be nice in theory to have pillar'd so much of the map that no one can get explosives quick enough to remove them anymore.

I can't find Titanoboa eggs anywhere, so I don't have the kibble I need to do it fast. It's an shitty job following the ape around for four hours and giving it berries, but I hear they have incredible HP (That's effectively even higher than actually is due to a miner's helmet increasing EHP by 120%, or possibly even higher if you have something more than a ramshackle one), they're faster than a lot of other tames in the game AND can turn on a dime along with strafing, and hit pretty hard and very fast.
I'm always worried about taming anything big solo though because it's easy to get bird'd by some fucker just passing by and pretty much any tame out there is vulnerable to being shot to death by someone standing on a 10ft rock. Also, bigfoot doesn't gather anything but berries and thatch.

That's basically the opposite of what led to our downfall.
Our decline was slow and began because we left every decision to one person alone, a person who then quit the game. We then let a different, single (two or three tops) person make the decisions and no one else cared enough to dissent because we were bored out of our minds after the first person's decisions.
Even then, after "losing" our (still standing) autism fort due to those few people's lack of foresight, we were far more alive than we had been for over a month. The final nail in Oceania's coffin was the Chinese, of all people, coming back to 355 and treating us better than the people we gave free reign of the server to.
We all gave up because the course of the war made it clear not many people wanted to grind resources under the thankless monotony of official rates. Especially after a couple weeks of the general 355 population shit talking us for things we didn't do.
Now the general is dead because most of us want a break after hundreds, in some cases thousands, of hours in this game. We've done everything, seen everything, and are taking time to do other things while we wait for something new to come out. So far the only actual new thing that has come out is the breeding mechanic, which, surprise surprise, is tedious and mindnumbing at official rates.

That's one thing about the official rates that I don't really like, but on the other hand do -- it takes time and commitment to do stuff.
For example, when we're fighting a battle and tons of dinos wind up dying, it's not like everyone can just run out, tame another in 10 minutes, and have all their losses replaced, especially if someone loses their quetzl or some fancy bred T-Rex. It takes time to replace the loss, so losses are felt, and eventually one side can lose a war by running out of resources to fight with.
At the same time, I have to rebuild my stuff so frequently that things just get old after a while. Nothing's more disheartening than spending six hours on a Saturday hand feeding some dino only to have it perish in combat not even a week later. Same goes for replenishing ammo, metal, and other goodies, especially when more advanced stuff takes hours to farm for 10 minutes of use.
I would like it more if the game had a more industrial aspect to it -- the difference between simple weapons like pikes and long rifles and advanced polymer stuff was that simple weapons were easy to maintain at the cost of material efficiency, while advanced equipment required assembly bays and a larger, established presence. Anyone good go out and grab some metal to make a handful of simple pistol bullets, but to make advanced ammo, you had to produce it in massive quantities in a fabrication system -- queue up how much ammo you want to make, supply a ton of resources to create bullets and keep the assembler running, and then you wind up with tons of stacks of ammo. Yeah, you'll go through it quickly, but it won't be so harsh to replenish it all because you have highly efficient infrastructure in place.

Combat in this game is a real buzzkill. You get to the point where you can use guns and realize that every shot you take with that longneck is 12 pieces of burned wood and 4 metal ore mined. First, wood takes forever to burn. Charcoal, poop, eggs, spoiled meat, smelting, these things all take time, I don't even think you can address it with rate changes on unofficials. You'll be waiting forever for those resources to be ready to use, even if gathering them can be made fairly easy. The fact that the metal spent on a bullet weighs hundreds of times more than the actual metal in the bullet is ridiculous, then the bullet in the end weighs many times more than a real, equivalent bullet would.
This is a huge point of contention for me. They want to balance overdamage and harvesting, but they've built up the entire meta for this game around everything taking ridiculous amounts of time to gather resources for. Then, instead of taking time to balance overdamage and the resource model, they waste time/money on tournaments blown up by bad judging/aimbots and halloween events introducing a skeleton for probable microtransaction support (you just wait and see what costumes come out).
It'd be way better if they did something along the lines of giving resources durability. Imagine if you chopped down a tree, and instead of 80 wood you just got 2-3 wood logs and some thatch. Then, instead of requiring a full sized log to make one pickaxe, you use like 5/100 units of wood from the log. Instead of 20 metal ingots to make a handful of bullets, you can do it with one, though you don't walk away from a rich node with 50 ore anymore. Now you can actually use your guns for fun.
I get that the dinosaurs are the focus, and that's fine. It doesn't change that, as is, the dinosaurs are just plain boring. Dinosaur mechanics need a complete overhaul. Clicking one button to do everything sucks.

Combat is pretty disappointing, yeah. Bases are far too vulnerable to offline attacks, guns take too many resources to use in any sort of protracted combat, and on top of that, I feel like they don't offer any compelling reasons to use them since they're essentially just more damage dealt in a shorter amount of time.
Outside of the specific issue of combat though, I'd say the biggest issue with the game is that players don't really have a goal on official servers. It's led to strange situations like, "We've just managed to kill all these other guys and crush them until they quit, but now what do we do?" And when that happens, people start quitting because who cares how much metal you mine and how much polymer and electronics you've created when no one's ever going to bother you again. It's like when the Chinese come and rape a server into submission until everyone leaves, the Chinese leave as well because there's no more pillaging to be done.
It'd be nice if at the end of the day, I felt more compelled to build these bases and make this ammo because we had a specific goal in mind with all of it instead of just killing some other guys because they slighted one of our tribemates.

They at least admit there is a problem with no end goal and seem to have something in mind, though the truth is they can at best delay reaching the end and a few hundred hours is a pretty good amount of time spent before reaching it. There's just no real joy in doing it. You do something new and it's fun and great, then you realize you need to spend 20 hours doing that same thing. It quickly becomes apparent how simple the thing you're is and how uninvolved you are while interacting with the world, and your cool project becomes a tedious waste of time.
Offline raids are a problem but there's a real lack of viable solutions to it. I haven't yet seen a solution that is both functional and could be applied to servers that already exist without fucking over some fraction of the players. In a game like TF2, no one cares if you randomly change the official server to only be active for a few hours, because you can just play on another server without losing anything. In Ark, you just lost hundreds of hours of work. Could be fixed with more wipes so they can actually test new models for the servers.
The worst part about guns is how utterly irrelevant dinosaurs make them. No gun out matches even mediocre carnivores. There's almost no reason to even use the guns unless you're in one of a few fringe cases or you're running an aimbot. So, you just farmed for an hour to make a couple dozen bullets and put your gun together, you burn through your ammo in a couple minutes, and have done less than you would have if you were just fighting on a carnivore instead of doing things on foot.
It's retarded that literally the best way to fight your enemies is to make metal foundations for them to destroy or give up on. It's a game where you can hurt your enemies the most by forcing them to actually play the game more.
Why the fuck did they think it was a good idea for rex's to be able to get stuck on fucking pebbles? I could see if they could be picked up by anything, or even if they could fucking jump. But the only way to get out of two pebbles trapping your rex is to wiggle out and hope for the best. Stupidest thing ever,

Well the idea behind being "unraidable" here is not a stupidly high base defense but stupidly high base concealment. If something is not found it does not get blown up. Prepared the first two floors of the out-of-bounds autism tower. We got lots of storage, fireplace, mortar, torch and a cooking pot. I also prepared a bed but didn't place it yet since the tribe is not yet created and I am not sure what happens if I place the bed before I do but whatever. We don't have many ressources yet, of course. The tower will be made out of 3*3 floors so it's comfy but not that tight.

I was actually thinking about trading anklyos for blueprints and metal tools. I'm sure some already established people would love to trade shit they make with stuff they've got lying around, and now that I've got several crop plots going full blast, I won't have trouble taming an excess of doediceruses and anklyos in my area.

How good are tamed dinos at defending your base?
Would a few tamed spinos be enough to slow down attackers for any amount of time, or would they just shoot them at range/kite them away and go about their business? I've heard of some tribes filling their buildings full of turtles with as much health as they could stack on them to slow people down, but that just gets annoying in my book.

So here's a little update on the new NoFunAllowed tribe on OfficialServer42 and it's autism tower hidden in the unholy depths of Glitchenburg.
We got 3 members so far - which is to be expected seeing as it is just the first day. We now got metal tools so we can equip new members with axe, pickaxe, pike and crossbow. We also have a raft - there seems to be no active tribe on veggie islands, apparently there was one but it got fucked judging by the ruins on it. So we can get metal, hide and meat. I also made a narco berry farm but I just planted it so it'll still take a while.
As for the tribe activity on that server, it seems there are 2-3 tribes that are friendly with each other - at least in chat. Only once have I seen someone flying over the coast and he had no interest in fucking noobs. So it should be relatively easy to stay concealed.
Next on the agenda is getting more metal, equipping the raft with an little base and also taming a frog. Because frogs are amazing.

Breeding can make some monstrous dinos even more monstrous than they already are, so I'm fine with breeding being a tedious process. Creating a T-Rex with 50 levels in health and melee damage should be a long, tedious task because the payoff is amazing.
Though actually, I wish it was more of a time investment rather than something you have to sit an micromanage, same goes for taming. There's a lot of dinos that aren't hard to tame, only needing someone to check up on them every once in a while, but then there's stuff like Diamaphoons and Plesiosaurs who have their torpor bars deplete in 2-4 minutes and essentially require your full attention for several hours, along with a large resource investment, and crossed fingers that no one comes around to fuck with you.

How do I organize a tribe into an effective force?
I want to get some people together and keep them focused long enough to actually establish a base and defend themselves, but everyone just wants to do their own thing and then complain with other people kill their dinos and break their shit. Other tribes are so much better at responding to threats, people I recruit just tend to run for the hills as soon as someone starts attacking.
Also, how do I kill birds effectively?
Am I the only one that's found their interest in the game severely waning? I've got 1293 hours put into the game and really have nothing bad to say about it, but just over the last month I've found myself not being able to play it for any real period of time before I decide it's time to play something else. I found that the detailed textures and shadows are to blame for this shit fps(uses all my gpu's vram). Once I took off detailed textures, the game ran smoothly.
As for the pop, I dont think that is much of an issue because the servers only have 70 slots. High pop is only good if you want to attack random people. This game is the best when there are just a dozen or so people that are online a lot.

Want to know a secret if you're rich and incredibly lazy? Eating food (Or taking narcotics) causes an effect to happen over time. For narcoberries, the creature in question gains 8 torpor over 3 seconds.
Say you've got a creature that finishes taming in 5 hours. That's 300 minutes, or 18000 seconds. If you feed them 6000 narcoberries (600 weight in berries, or 20 crop plots worth), you're free to never have to check up on them because the duration their torpor will be increasing will continue for longer than their tame bar will last. Use a script or similar to force that many down their throat without getting carpel tunnel.
Sure, you probably don't have that many narcoberries laying around because you're not an autist like I am and built 20 crop plots, fertilizing them every day with the crap machine known as a phiomia. But if you do, you too can be a faggot and tame things the easy way.
(Also note, this applies to you as well -- you can feed yourself 1800 berries and never run out of food for a full hour.)

Use ceilings for flooring.
Ceilings can go up to two tiles away from the foundation they're fixated on. Any more past that, you're gonna have to put pillars under the 2nd ceiling until it reaches the ground. Then put two more ceilings past the now pillar-supported ceiling, and continue as necessary.

Your first mistake was starting with a foundation.
Start with a pillar first, use ceilings and pillars to level something out.
By building two levels of pillars on top of each other you will raise the snappoint of the foundation to make it above ground.
So your first step will be levelling with pillars and ceilings.

If it doesn't allow you place a foundation try building two pillars up on the ceiling next to where you want to place the foundation, that should allow you to snap a foundation.

Here's my base
I've never been raided once, I play on a high pop custom Aussie server, most nights we have 70+ players on.
There a 4 main large warring tribes and smaller sphere of influence tribes attached to each duking it out along with a bunch of one man tribes like myself.
I am doing the best of all the one man tribes, I have friended my nearest major tribe and more or less made my base unfuckable I think.
I follow a few rules.
-dont wall of large areas
-don't tame ANYTHING until you have a small yard with at least 4 mature plant X's guarding it
-check who that is before you PVP them to avoid getting large tribes angry with you
-then turrets turrets turrets
I have 3 indoor and 3 out door turrets with 2 sec warnings set to medium player/tame shit, indorr turrets have no warnings and all the plant X's as you can see.
Our server has max wild rank as 60 to help stop the megs rexs going around being OP and it works pretty well. My rex in the base is at 20k and climbing and 1000% melee DMG.
I feel safe and haven't been hit once in a month since we had a wipe.
Playing solo is easy and fun and i have everything.

this was my first base ever and pre wipe i invited the server to come wipe it.
She lasted through 15 minutes of sustained hell (all stone this one not steel) and in that time they only killed all the plant x's, I had not turrets and they had killed all the dinos etc. Not yet even in the doors or the safes then the server wiped. So I'd say my new ones pretty safe.

Note that about 5-6 Carno's, 3 Rex's, a few Spino's, countless Argie's and Perta's along with sinpers in the hills and foot attackers all perished during this attack.
With only me defending ti and a few AI dino's.

You can't really blame them. Spawns take up almost all of the beach area and are fairly random. It's not their fault the spawning system is retarded because "hurr anything goes."

In single player/PvE? Expect marginally higher difficulty to survive, high level dinos are easy to kill with low level tames, just not alphas.
In PvP? Expect any semblance of balance to disappear and being forced to tame things for hours just to get something that might almost be useful in a fight.

I tamed a quetzal and leveled it up to 320% MS, I still have trouble finding it before the night is over. Check every clearing, every valley, every mountain base. Supposedly the closer you get to it the louder its theme gets but I don't know how accurate that information is. It's not as big as you think it is so don't fly too high or you'll miss it, I found it at lat52,lon31 once and almost mistook it for a rex, haven't seen another since.

It varies from board to board, the larger boards like /v/, /b/ and /a/ have a post/image bump limit of 500/251 including the OP.

Okay, so here's the scoop. The gigantosaurus stats are all bugged, it only gets 400 health per point, everything else is pretty much static, also, if you tame it the thing will take significantly more damage than a wild one and will always lose to a wild one.
