I recently started playing this game with some friends who have been playing for awhile. They're around the mid-60's and have lots of tools and whatnot for me to use as I level up. Most importantly they have around level 140 direwolves that I can take out and kill shit really easily. So did I miss out on half the fun of building wooden houses, then stone, and eventually getting to metal while also having to hunt on my own? Or did I skip a bunch of shit just to get to the more fun stuff?

Im on a server with a big ass tribe and we dominate it. Ive made a gigantic citadel out of steel mostly alone now, however if you have a quetz and one other friend you can get thousands of ingots in no time at all.
Generally when I come to these threads its full of solo players or very inexperienced ones which is fine and all. But the devs need to increase offense currently and that is what they are doing. If you have difficulty defending its because another group of people have invested more time than you cumulatively and what you stand to lose rarely matters in comparison.
There are hundreds of places you can build a base that are not assailable under any circumstance. Currently the biggest issue in PvP is getting shot off of a dino while tanking turret shots. A high end tribe can have 40+ turrets and half set to target player This means you need to be in a bronto to tank the shots. These bases cannot be attacked. Now if a dino were to lose its rider and be enraged with 200k hp its suddenly actually possible to take those bases.

Also, here's a little update. We have a flyer now and turned a raft into a mobile base - so our adventures have become more safe and comfy. We also have a decoy base: IF someone decides to fuck us for whatever reason they can destroy that thing and feel satisfied - while we use that to fake our own death when in reality, we're still underground.
Also I would not be surprised if we might be able to create a second way into the hidden base. That way bugfixes won't stop us. However I doubt they will fix it anytime soon - they don't care about breaking their game a bit, just look at how many people are being raped by the new dino.

As far as I remember, they had underwear on the models but yea, you are supposed to wake up 100% nude. The underwear is a model on top of the naked bodies so yea, I guess that was their intention but maybe they gave the characters underwear to keep the rating down? Fully nude female and male characters counts as prolonged nudity and can easily cause the game to be rated AO.

I tested the threshold for the rage meter. This thing has a hair trigger. I ran it off a small cliff, probably just a little bigger than its height and it gave a full rage bar and knocked me off and ate me. Damage over time is fine, but too much damage at once pisses it off. My suggestion is to dismount it, bring out the spyglass and tell it to attack the enemy.

Note, you need to build pipes first, then attach to them. Not the other way around. No idea why but that's how they work.
So build you plots, run a pipe line to them, put taps where needed, the attach reservoirs to the pipe.

The only thing you need to really worry about with a giant farm is fertilizer. Get a large storage of stim berries and one or two pigs, then build a shit ton of compost bins.

starved it for 25 minutes then filled it with prime
Took it around the island to field test it, pitted it against an alpha rex to see if it would rage but the alpha died pretty quickly. Dropped it off a cliff to make it angry and it killed the rider right away but was calm after about 5 seconds.
