They really need to add some sort of standardization when it comes to shotgun sprays. Tf2 fixes the problem by adding a 3x3 spray pattern for every shotgun to remove randomness.
You can pointblank fire at someone as reaper, miss all your pellets, and then be instantly killed. It's even more annoying as tracer where a lucky spray get net you 5-10 extra headshots and so a dead healer.

Map(and game) design overall is poor. KOTH is generally ok but it's too easy to push the opposing team into their spawn. Tf2 solves the problem by giving teams multiple exits out of spawn and quicker respawn times when you lose the point.

If the game didn't have top notch environment art aesthetic and the Blizzard logo, I'm convinced it would be written off as another Chinese TF2 clone tier by most people. I only play it because I'm burnt out on TF2 and Quake is pretty dead but they have a lot to work on.
Healers are boring to play and annoying to play against in every game that they are featured in.
One of the few things that Paladins does right is the complete removal of dedicated healing characters, some characters have healing abilities but none of them are completely dedicated to it.

Attacking any last point when there's a mercy is absolute pain at the moment, especially on the shit maps like King's Row and Anubis. They've got their ult up for every push to cancel out the attacker's ults. A lot of it also is how careful your teammates are. If you have a highly mobile team who's good at dodging and using Rein shields / DVa matrix / whatever, you obviously won't get as high a healing amount.
The best way to get a high healing game is to just be involved in a huge slog of a game where neither side is very concerned about protecting their lives, but neither side ever manages to get many eliminations, so people are always in the middle of a fight. That way it optimizes the amount of healing you're constantly putting out because everyone is always damaged and also in range because they aren't doing a run back.
Basically, having a very high healing total is more indicative of a long, bad game than a good one.

I find kings row harder to hide as mercy when at the last bend. If attackers take the elevation with the hole, you need to sit further back, possibly out of range of guardian angel. Anubis though I agree. P2 of hanamura is great for mercy because it gives her tons of space to fly between teammates on the flanks, elevation, and a hiding spot right behind the point.

Usually when I choose to play Mercy I like to be sarcastic in chat, and ask people to fan out and hide in corridors where I can't fly to them, and to be extra sure they never get near the payload. It tends to work better than just asking.
Being Mercy and being the only person the payload and seeing 3 skulls and 2 blue outlines, all an equal distance away from one another on the edges of the map is super fun.

The instalock people who always complain about people taking the game too seriously are the worst players in the game. And there's a lot of them. They just want to roam around TDMing as their favorite character, and don't care that they're doing no damage, getting no eliminations, their matches only last 3 minutes and they get their shit pushed in on every one of them.
Because they're "having fun." They're the same people that want to play all McCrees or all Tracers too, in my experience. They're almost always drunk and their stats are always garbage.

Playing a Mercy is more about the overall skill of your teammates than the skill of the Mercy. You can damage boost them all day, but if they can't hit shots, it's useless. You can stick near the payload, but if you're playing with idiots, they're going to be roaming all over the map where you can't heal them anyway.
Most of the actual skill level of a Mercy is the same as anyone else. Map placement, concealment and timing. It's just that having a teammate who does not grasp these things invalidates most of those decisions.

Playing usually as Rein (don't consider it a "main," but he's pretty important and almost no one wants to play him), one of the most annoying things is being on a bad team and seeing an enemy Rein who charges you the first time he sees you, EVERY time. It's one of the most foolish things you can do, and at best results in a kamikaze -1 to both teams usually. But with the bad team, the stupid Rein gets away with it and feels like hot shit for being a terrible player. And there's not a lot you can do about it since you have to be locked in place to protect your team.
