1. Download Dolphin 5.0 Emulator (Everyone on the same version, less issues overall)
>If you want to use your special version for netplay, go ahead. No one gives a fuck.
2. Download GameCube ISOs from emuparadise.me (Mario Party, Mario Kart, Air Ride, etc)
3. Tools -> Start Netplay -> Host a room and post the room code, or wait for a code to be posted
General guidelines so you don't fuck shit up for everyone else:
>Config -> GameCube -> Slot A/B "<Nothing>"
>Dolphin window -> Right click game -> Properties - > Disable "Speed up Disc Transfer Rate"
>Turn off any widescreen hacks if you have any on (If you literally just downloaded Dolphin, don't worry about it)
>Some games may require you have cheats enabled to unlock everything (Config -> General -> "Enable Cheats"). Just leaving it on won't mess anything up
>LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE ALONE
If you're new and it's your first time hosting:
Pad the buffer somewhere between 15 - 30. If you need to go over 30, don't bother hosting.

6 isn't bad by any means, but 5's capsule gimmick is a lot more interesting then 6's day/night stuff
Especially if you house rule in that you have to throw an item when you get it, and you can't replace an already used space, which makes it so the entire board does crazy shit
I also feel like 5 has more/better games because they didn't have to waste time developing for the stupid microphone but I dunno how true that is.

Oh, my bad that was the wrong replay. Anyway MP1 and 3 is impossible to do on dolphin. 1 didn't get a VC port because lawsuits, and 3 didn't get one because the wii was at its final years.

I really wanna play with you guys, but for some reason, on Dolphin 5.0, I suffer massive framerate dips. I can't even get to 5 FPS on any game. I have no idea why. I have an i5 at 4.00 GHz, and a 980 (regular), as well as 8 gigs of ram. Dolphin Devs said that should be fine for 5.0, but they don't know what's wrong either.

Someone can get 100% saves in gamefaqs or something, make a memory card called netplayv.raw and upload it so we can download it.
If someone plays Mario Tennis I can provide a save with everything unlocked for multiplayer since I haven't found any saves/codes for the Gamecube version.

Each player has a ping, the one with the highest sets the input lag for all of them, if a game runs at 60 fps a 500ms ping would mean all players controls are delayed half a second or 30 frames. This delay ensures all controls are recieved the same time.

I tried playing MP5 with a friend earlier, it worked great for a while and then the shit connection hit and I had 600 ping.

The slowdown is because Dolphin is waiting on user inputs from other players. You have to increase the buffer pad until everyone is running at (or near) 100% speed (look at the Dolphin title bar). Each frame of buffer is 16.67 ms of delay, though.

For future reference, netplay monkeyball totally works, but dualcore must be disabled or else you'll witness a seizure inducing hell that runs at 1 frame a second.

Every game that you play online, but it's only as a precaution to prevent desyncs (i.e., it may not have a benefit but it won't be a detriment). You can have desyncs if it's enabled and someone is loading from a SSD for example.

It's a 4 player 3rd person shooter. The camera is put at an angle that's outside the battlefield so everyone can see everything that's happening. Each player has a basic gun, a bomb that can be (usually) lobbed across the field and pods that run along the ground (usually)
The customization is where custom robo comes into it's own. Each player chooses from a selection of parts to customize their body, bombs legs and pods, all useful for combat.
It's a lot of fun
