The explanation that Delta made every choice just made more sense to me. Sure, the characters wouldn't question their choices if they were more moral, ie. not choosing to press the yellow button, but Delta was there and had the option of forcing them to choose the opposite. It's what makes the fact that you don't choose whether Carlos shoots Delta or not more impactful.
Think of it this way, on Q's team, you view them from Delta's perspective, you DON'T see Delta, so why is it that you see Carlos and Diana on the other teams? Simple, you aren't seeing things from their perspective.

As far as personal enjoyment goes for me, VLR > 999 > ZTD
ZTD was a fun ride but it didn't blow me away like the other two games did. Delta, Mind Hacking®, and the Alien Transporter really made me lose my suspension of disbelief, and while the game still made for a fun ride, it still doesn't come close to the other two in terms of quality in my opinion.

Maybe what you see of her in the other games isn't her "true nature" or something, but I always saw her as someone who was always in control of her emotions and could change how she acted to fit the situation if it was part of her plan.
