People thought it could have been a really interesting game supposedly somewhat based off The Ugly Swans but it was a barely working "game" initially.
The HD remake couldn't really salvage it. The 2016 update (11 years after the game originally released) is less polished and complete than their 2008 title The Void.

I can't recommend DotE, though. The concept is nice but I didn't enjoy the gameplay and controls (heroes are basically walking turrets, you can just choose the room they will defend instead of directly control their position and target). I'm so tired of that kind of artstyle.

Oh it's definitely a great game.
But I don't like spooky things.
It's similar to that hospital room in Metro LL right after you get the car and you start hallucinating some shapes and sounds around you. It doesn't happen that ofetn in either game though.
The game is generally dark, gory (for a shooter) and your character is/gets fucked up in the head. Even though FEAR has less scary enviroments and you basically only fight humans, they explore more the psychological midfuckery.

For the most part, FEAR's spookyness comes from halucinations and somewhat dark enviroments, but the enviroments are not desolated and ruined like in Metro.
I didn't finish FEAR, but as far as I can tell, people seem to enjoy 2 about as much as 1, but they don't like 3 very much.

Fable is good, but don't expect a complex RPG, its more of a cozy game that relies on charming voices and mixes the serious quest line with some satire. I'd recommend you play it unless you're an rpg elitist

Dangan's gameplay is split into sections. The first is a free time segment where you hang out with the characters and get to know them. The second is an investigation portion where you look for clues similar to Ace Attorney. The third is the trail segment where you play a bunch of minigames and work to determine who dunnit.
There's also a free mode with it's own alternate story where you just have to looks for resources and hang out with the characters.
Got myself Firewatch, EYE Cybermancy and Resident Evil Remaster HD.
Fun times were had with Firewatch, wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

The standard Valve stuff, like Portal 1&2 and HL 2.
Antichamber is not exactly physics based, but you're encouraged to use blocks minecraft-style to solve unusual puzzles. I was impressed at how good it was.
There's a small indie title called Nyx Quest. It's 2d a platformer where you can use telekinesis or your hands to push stuff arround. It's short, but serviceable.
Octodad is hilarious. So charming; worth every penny.
World of Goo is also super fun. Maybe there's a bit of nostalgia speaking, but I had a love affair with this game back in the day. Definitely reccomended.
The same developer made Little inferno, which is much more limited, but amusing nonetheless.
Deus Ex is not physics based either, but the game rewards the clever use of physics to bypass obstacles. The 1st one moreso than Mankind Evolved, but it's a bit dated. With that said, I've played the first one to completion recently, never having played it before, so no nostalgia influence there.
Dishonored is basically Deus Ex but even better. Not exactly a physics sandbox either, though.

It's a little bit overwhelming at first, indeed. Just do the first quest and get more quests from the guild masters in the main towns. You'll have to walk around them to know where they stay.
Keep recruiting peasants in small villages and upgrade them as much as possible. Getting prisoners and selling whenever you find a ramsom broker in taverns is a good way to make money. Also, visit taverns frequently in the early game.

I played it. It was pretty medicore. Some of the parts are badly designed. Like on some parts you need ranged attacks, but if you dont invest in range you are fucked and cant progress. But for 4$ I think its worth it and you will get your money back because there are is alot of stuff to do in the game.

BoI is still a decent game if you didn't play Rebirth. I am not really good at Spelunky but I would say it has a nice balance of combat and platforming and combat is alot harder than platforming. Most of the time I just die to enemies instead of falling on spikes (on which enemies often knock you).
