So, what are your guy's fav games in order? Mine's:
999 > ZTD > VLR
I actually ended up liking the campy-ish cutscenes of ZTD, and the journey for me was on par with 999. VLR I didn't like as much, because I didn't like the sometimes straight up retarded plot twists, and the shit ending. Ending goes the same for ZTD, I want another game just to wrap everything up once and for good, but I have a feeling if they do, they'll only fuck it up even more.

>>343610006
999 > VLR > ZTD
VLR rates higher for introducing Phi, one of my favorite characters in the series, but the rest of the game isn't great.
>>343610184
probably because some fucking retard phrased it like a general thread
>Guy with naruto purple eyes and over 100 years old
>Story about some falsely accused guy and his wife that killed herself that's actually revealed to be Akane's parents is NEVER mentioned again
>ALIEN TECHNOLOGY
>a blood-thirsty murderer suddently turns herself in, marries an icecream man and gets regular visits by a fucking robot
>Kyle, Alice, Clover never mentioned as stated here 1000x times already
>Sigma loses his eye and arms in the most retarded way possible (I was really expecting some decision game for this)
>Akane and Junpei hardly have anything similiar with their old personalities
>Gab is killed because who knows why
Oh well, at least is wasn't as bad as MGS V. I probably just had way too high expectations.
>>343610157
you've only activated both vote scenarios. Go back and vote again to trigger the executions.
>>343609956

>>343609865
Why is Sigma so naive when he named his daughter phi and sending her to a different timeline that he wouldn't think its possible that it is same person?
>>343610439
Because if he wasn't, that wouldn't be her name.
>>343609931
Did you read the prologue in the art book?
>yfw you realize that all the English voice actors were injected with Radical-6
>>343609865
Everything leading up to that part was really sad, so her saying that really disturbed me. One of the best dramatic points in the game.
>>343610006
I liked 999 and VLR the most, for different reasons. 999 was enthralling and the character art was fantastic. The mystery was compelling and the tone was creepy and dark. But playing it over and over from the beginning got tiresome.
VLR improved in terms of gameplay and had some shining moments. The AB game felt impactful. I couldnt take the decisions lightly and the repercussions were fun to see play out. The art and models were bad but the dialogue and voice work were fine. I liked jumping timelines with new knowledge. And the reveals were really mindfuck-y.
ZTD was okay. I didnt like the stilted animations and the dialogue felt unnatural because it was tied to the scripted sequences, unlike VLR's dialogue boxes. There were some interesting ideas but they didnt handle Akane and Junpei well imo. I also didnt like having to hear the same things explained three times each.
>all these people didn't take every option just to see what happened when voting
I had the thumbs-up before I even knew I needed it.
Akane's love for Junpei was too much for me mates.

>>343610853
Anyone else find Junpei incredibly sexy in ZTD? Something about that voice.
Also why does he look so shy in the promotional material when in the game he's anything but?
>>343610853
>super hardcore machiavellian the ends justify the means in VLR
>MUH JUNPEI WE CANT KILL OUR OTHER VERSIONS WHY DO I CARE ABOUT DYING WHEN IN VLR I WAS SUPER NONCHALANT ABOUT BEING STABBED TO DEATH IN EVERY TIMELINE
What the fuck happened? Did the writers other than Uchikoshi never play the other games?
>>343611000
I thought Carlos was the hottest. Junpei kind of looks a bit too emo for me.
>>343610259
The decision games fucking sucked. When I saw the chart with FBR and Radical-6 death chances, I thought you were going to have to choose to infect a bunch of people and try to morally justify it either way.
>>343611000
I'd rather fuck Sigma's 18 inches.
>>343610006
I just want to erase VLR and ZTD from this timeline and live on with only 999. I didn't dislike VLR at all, I liked it almost as much as 999, but VLR existing leads to ZTD.
I was in line for that shit at AX and was turned back when I was nearly in because it was full.
Life is simply unfair. At least I nabbed a VLR watch.
>>343611217
I want to jump to a timeline where VLR and ZTD got the same time, attention to detail, and budget 999 did.
>>343611050
wait, why do you compare vlr akane and ztd akane?
that is stupid, she didn't get her conscious send back like phi and sigma
her personality in VLR is the result of what happen in ZTD
i keep seeing people making this mistake because they think vlr is the 2nd game that mean everything happen in vlr happened before ztd
>>343610803
Gotta agree with you on the VLR AB games. I remember feeling legitimately bad for betraying people I didn't want to betrayLUNA
I also really liked some of the characters as well, but for me, story was by far the weakest, at least imo. Like I said, just too many stupid reveals, and it didn't fit the same tone as the first game. The first game was by far my fav, because it just had me hooked from the start, wondering, "What the actual fuck is happening?" which just isn't the same in VLR, or even ZTD. Like you said, the art was great, and I honestly think it could've easily just been a standalone experience, if they just tied up a few loose ends.
>>343611050
That's future her, it's explainable. Now what I want explained is her setting off the reactor and fucking killing all of D team, remember when she did that?

>>343610439
Sigma was generally dumb as fuck in ZTD.
>>343611369
I remember seeing Luna standing menacingly outside of your voting room and it was probably the uncanniness of the models and her just standing there silently that made me hit betray. She was just too good to be true for me, until I learned more about her.
How's ZTD's reception in Japan?

Okay, we all know the budget for this game was rock-bottom. Like, $20 and some lint at most.
As-is, it's sold 10k~ on Steam, and far, far more on 3DS and Vita, all at a $40-$50 pricepoint. Steam takes 30%, and we can assume that retail would take roughly the same amount. So 30 bucks of profit a pop.
ZTD 3DS had 32k preorders in the US alone. Vita probably had a fifth of that, since there's five times as many 3DS as Vitas. So, probably 6k-8k
Trail sales for the next couple years (esp. with 999 and VLR being ported) would probably be around 1.5x+ what we had now (esp. since we're still in the first week).
That comes down to 2.2 million buckaroos. Given the (mostly) reused OST, animation/clipping issues, bugs, rushed puzzles (not anywhere near as much variation as in VLR/999, lotta repetitive 'fit x in y or 'rotate this' puzzles), rushed ending, plot threads hanging everywhere (Kyle/?), contradictory characterization and so forth, it's probable that most of the budget was spent on seiyuu, even if they were mostly fairly cheap ones except for best girl (Miyuki Sawashiro).
They spent probably something like 200k on seiyuu, 100k on outsourcing (most of the) pazurus, and the rest on programming, and the rest on an engine Windows port, art, coding, and writing. Mostly coding.
Basically 1.5 mil in pure profit. Still, Danganronpa is more popular globally, so there's an opportunity cost to devote their resources in this direction.
>>343612167
See, Akane shutting off the lights makes no sense. If Carlos had done it it would have been somewhat reasonable. In a regular chainsaw vs ax fight, the chainsaw user has the advantage. But by shutting off the lights, Akane had no way to track him, but he could still hear her chainsaw and run away/towards her.

Who the hell killed chopped Jumpy? How the hell did a 1000 year old grandpa strangled a serial killer? Why do characters mention things that are never talked about again?
Why is this game missing so many explanations?
>>343612469
Nope, I was waiting the entire game for one single mention of either Jumpy or Kanny. They don't call each other anything then Junpei and Akane
Oh shit I just realized something thats probably super obvious and everyone probably already knew about.
Someone last thread pointed outThe reason its the Decision game and not the Nonary game is because there are 10 players. Thus 10 -> DeciBy that same line of logic. The reason it is the X door instead of the 9 door is because X=10
>>343612297
the chainsaw doesn't have an advantage you fucking idiot.Chainsaws are not weapons. they are too slow to swing and take too much time to recover and are dangerous to the user.
>>343612501
Even the game tells you it's all random chance but you have higher odds in switching.
>>343612501
It's still a game left up to chance. You don't automatically win by switching, it just ups the odds.

Vgchartz has the number of 3DS sales, and Steamspy gives you an estimate on Steam sales. Steam does indeed take a 30% cut, and it does indeed cost 40~ bucks. Retail takes roughly the same as Steam does, since Steam demands fairly high cuts since they can afford to.

Chainsaws are not proper weapons. Then again neither is a wood chopping axe, but it's much better than a chainsaw.
You have no understanding of hema. muscle has nothing to do with something being too heavy or improperly balanced to use with any dexterity.
an axe is more dangerous. It doesn't take much to kill or incapacitate someone, the chainsaw is intimidating but not very useful.
it wouldn't be able to chop of a hand cleanly like a fucking sword either as the whole point is it eats with the teeth.
>>343612548

I really enjoyed my time with the game. Totally satisfied? Nope, but this is a better package than VLR, interestingly enough.
999 is one of the best self-contained stories in the medium, only marred by its lack of quality-of-life improvement that VLR and ZTD have (an accessible timeline + skippable dialogue). VLR is built on promise of something more. I didn't like the shitty poses. ZTD isn't that much better, but it has camera angles. Even Eric's static smile is explained. 100x better than Clover in VLR.
I'm not totally satisfied. Why aliens? Why not even fucking question anything about aliens? Why not fucking question Mira? But what we got, on pretty much a shoestring budget, that we didn't think we'd get, is great. I have ~20 hours and I enjoyed all of it.
But seriously... Alice? Who actually made radical-6? Why the fuck was Left in a fucking lion tamer suit? what the fuck
How did Carlos know to send Gabletter 4 (pic) when his consciousness at the time had no interaction with Q team or the pod room?

Time lines have to be created though decisions. There is the possibility of infinite timelines, as is stands there is no reality where no one died. The goal of the games is to create it,

Sigma tried to replicate her as best he could, he wanted the flaws, but probably loved her so much he had rose tinted glasses.
>>343614348
I'm not saying there wasn't foreshadowing, but you could never explain why he was never fucking shown once and only referenced.
Maybe it would've been better if they didn't use fully rendered scenes.
>>343614524
Here you go
>>343612545
>Who the hell killed chopped Jumpy? How the hell did a 1000 year old grandpa strangled a serial killer?
Mira, Mind control.
>Why do characters mention things that are never talked about again?
You mean the parasites and stuff like that? Red herrings and interesting trivia like the previous games had.
>Why is this game missing so many explanations?
Most things that needed to be explained are explained though. I guess the terrorist or the transporter could be better explained, but they're not really needed to. And the biggest unexplained thing is left from VLR, we don't know where Kyle is.
>>343614390
>she does deep down inside
epic
>>343614462
The fact that your main problem with VLR is the graphics shows how much of a pleb you are.
The camera angles were bad in ZTD because it makes the twist that you are looking though Qs point of view even more unbelievable.
>>343614484
collective morphogenetic field
Where can i read the prologue?
>>343614760
Actually, the twist makes even more sense with he angles, because it meant that you were looking through the security cameras.

ok that's pretty cool
>>343614731
Then she was mind hacked and couldn't do it because delta wouldn't let her as that would mean muh 8 billion. fuck off.
>>343614486
You don't need a game for that. A simple decision made by the terrorist could cause him to die. You're telling me that will never happen in any timeline?
>>343614883
Not for Q team. The shooting delta scene confirms you are looking though his pov.
>>343614893
yeah it was set up well, it;s just a pretty pointless twist that adds nothing to the plot.
>>343615013
He can still use the glasses to see through the cameras when he's with Q team.

Get out, apologist.
>>343615013
Isn't it both?
Cameras for some scenes, through the cameras for the others?
>>343614760
The facial expressions in VLR (especially Clover) were awful. At least there was some reasoning behind Eric and Mira in this game.
You're a fucking retard for thinking top-down views are from Delta's POV.
>>343615112
I meant his eyes for some scenes.

>>343615112
Why is he hiding from the cameras?
>>343615013

Not every scene tho.
>>343615108

How so, because I disagree with you?
We know enough about the terrorist, at least I didn't feel the need to know more. I would've liked more closure about he issue instead.
>>343615005
They don't know, the ability to make decisions doesn't mean you will make them. It's the idea that even if you were to go back if you don't retain any new knowledge history would not change because free will is an illusion and you will always make the same decision if you have the same knowledge in that same environment.

The terrorist is an esper, shifter, mind hacker and all around careful guy. There is literally no timeline where he fails because of mere bad luck, he has to be physically stopped by 9 people filled with the desire to change fate. Coming summer 2021, ZE4 (pls buy ZTD).

>>343610707
Is there a link, Anon?
so, what are everyone's thoughts on the overall game?
I've been seeing a lot of complaints today but honestly I'm really happy the thing just came out. I think it had a bunch of twists I liked and a couple I wasn't fully satisfied with, but nothing I was unhappy about. You can definitely feel the budget on this one, far more than VLR or 999 with the absolutely horrendous animations and limited lip sync. Lots of good music and top-tier atmosphere. Also liked the general setup of the plot and the facility.
Overall I think it's the 3rd best and a pretty good conclusion to the series, but 999 will always be my favorite.
>>343615393
Would've been funny if Diana tried to shoot herself with a blank.
>>343615393
Yes the point is that she is bargaining to die instead of risking sigma dying and then it goes to anger. stages of grief.
Guys can someone do an typical example of a 999 puzzle, a vlr puzzle and a ztd puzzle?

>>343615457
Really good, I'm very satisfied with its place in the trilogy, storywise.
The budget limitations were evident, but I'm just so glad we could see the final piece.
>>343615510
999 puzzle
>more akin to a point'n'click adventure game
>some math skills necessary
>occasional pixel hunting
>repeat puzzle room 10x to get to all endings
VLR puzzle
>more or less a collection of individual puzzles that are themed in a way
>usually to get a room to activate and reveal something about the facility
>skippable
ZTD puzzle
>pretty much the same as VLR.
>>343615550
>999 remaster
Not yet, Junpei! It's not over yet!
>>343615457
It was very fun, but a terrible conclusion. Story is filled with unbelievable aspects and many twists are arbitrary and sweeps way too much under the rug/characters are not expanded upon enough and the puzzles are a step down from VLR. Weakest in the series but still a great game.
The main thing is the game was a wild ride, It doesn't hold up to a thorough critique, but it can be so cheesy it almost seems self-aware of it.
>>343615457
Lip sync is less shit if you play it with Jap voices, though it's still very primitive.
>>343615457
I agree with most of what you said. I think it works better than VLR as a package, though. Budget is definitely felt, and maybe because I knew that coming in (and not with VLR) I'm more sympathetic toward it.
I beat it in ~20 hours. I had a great time. I'm showing my buddy it too after trying fucking explain the entire plot which is absolutely fucking crazy when trying to tldr... and he's actually enjoying it. I love how it came out on windows. The first game I played in this series without a single spoiler.
So when Carlos and Junpei were about to have a successful AB game, why did Akane feel the need to blow up everyone in the facility just to demonstrate SHIFT?
Is there some extra reason or is she just retarded?
>>343615762
She is retarded.
>>343615762
Akane's thirst for blood is her best quality, Anon.
>>343615762
I think they were trying to get to a timeline where no one died. The successful AB game wasn't important to her because of that.
>>343615457
>>343615718
>It was very fun, but a terrible conclusion
Pretty much my opinion too. As a game, it's good. As a Zero Escape entry, it's still good. But as a conclusion to the series, it's bad.
>>343615293
This conflicts with the final decision of the game, whether toSHIFTor not toSHIFT. Both decisions are made in-game with the same knowledge in the same environment.
>>343615457
After I finished it, I definitely didn't feel even half the impact of 999's True Ending.
I am probably one of the few who didn't care for the FtS/Left stuff so that didn't bother me, but completely dropping Kyle after he got hyped up felt pretty bad.
However, I still did enjoy the ride to the end much more than VLR and about as much as 999
>>343615457
Disappointed, but probably due to the cliffhanger in VLR and overhype since ZTD was announced.
My biggest complain is the consciousness swapping, it's fucked up and would create a ton of problems but no one seems to care.
>>343615717
I honestly fucking laughed. I was doing a ton of sudoku when I finally ended up playing 999.
Considering that, and how I did the correct path first in 999+VLR, I'm probs a SHIFTer.
>>343615760
>The first game I played in this series without a single spoiler.
same, just beat it yesterday. I picked up 999 on my own after briefly hearing about it on /v/ and through a couple game sites. Fucking fell in love with it and beat it over a couple nights before bed. Immediately bought VLR and had it fucking spoiled for me on /v/.
>>343615457
I finished it in 4 sittings so it at least managed to be consistently exciting and it had some top tier moments, but it's easily my least favorite and the more I think about it and discuss it, the worse the aftertaste gets.
>>343615762
how else were all their lives going to be in-danger?

haha pretty much the same. The spoilers I heard were about Zero's identity in both and what Luna was.
VLR spoilers were my own fault because I made a 999 thread just after beating it and someone just had a list of VLR spoilers as the 2nd response.
The game story is honestly best when you consider the VLR lead up endings canon. Like an infinite loop. It's not happy but it wraps up the best.
>>343616129
Don't add the player to the equation. That whole concept was dropped, it's not part of the story.
And even if you insist that the player did it:
What about that one time whereDiana has a 50/50 chance of killing Sigma. Same knowledge, same environment, same player decision, BUT: different timelines
>>343616220
>VLR spoilers were my own fault because I made a 999 thread just after beating it and someone just had a list of VLR spoilers as the 2nd response.
Was that the one where they posted a picture with THE spoiler of the game?
I might have been in that thread.
>>343616223
Yeah those D and C ends were my favorite parts because I was really impressed at how Uchikoshi could link them into VLR (Diana's call seemingly contradicting the amount of alive characters in VLR) without doing anything too dumb
>>343616083
It's being received well. The only reason people are saying otherwise is because it doesn't scratch every itch.
>>343616342
>That whole concept was dropped, it's not part of the story.
Nope, though Zero would sometimes alter the decisions people made, he was dead in several timelines when you still had decisions to make. Player input is valid.

Why is she so ambivalent about destroying herself and the other participants at first, then starts yelling when Junpei plans to get himself and Carlos gunned?

>Don't add the player to the equation. That whole concept was dropped, it's not part of the story.
No it wasn't. player existence is alluded to by some zero akane talk I believe forget the quote. think it might be at end game scene.
It's bad writing because it's not actually RNG. The bullets being in different chambers in that universe makes no sense, even the dice rolls should always be the same without shift knowledge because you would roll with the exact same force every time.
>>343616485
>Why is she so ambivalent about destroying herself and the other participants at first, then starts yelling when Junpei plans to get himself and Carlos gunned?
Because they all live in her version. In the rec room she gets to experience Carlos and Junpei being fucking shot to death. Regardless of how many times you see it, seeing your childhood friend killed is probably not a nice thing to see.
>Plus, she manages to SHIFT after the shooting stops, how much danger does she actually need?
Does she? I thought she had something to do in that timeline, otherwise why would Carlos and Junpei try and save her?
>>343616376
only thing is carlos not having a role, but he could have just died from the virus.
>>343616637
She was supposed to get the X-Codes for their deaths so that they could leave after SHIFTing back

I believe it was schematics of a Luna robot. I immediately checked out of the thread when I recognized it.
But honestly... Spoilers often entice me. I know I tried 999 a couple times before.... but it never grabbed me. Hearing that your childhood fried was the antagonist actually got me to play through it. And I'm still saying this is the most intriguing story in video games.
So what was the importance of the "become me" picture of Zero in the Pod Room?
Before the 1 Ward Reveal, it was assumed there were 2 vents to each Ward that Gab went through. But knowing it was only one ward, how did Gab traveling between wards and coming out the correct side work? I know there was a little room with a bed for him, but did both tunnels lead to it?
Did anyone else think that Gab was a robot at first? I was hoping the really stiff animation would be part of a reveal, rather than just animation on a budget.
>>343616746
perhaps she used another method to threaten her own life and shift? We dont' actually see her leave do we?

>Did anyone else think that Gab was a robot at first? I was hoping the really stiff animation would be part of a reveal, rather than just animation on a budget.
If you came into ZTD expecting good animation you deserved to be disappointed. It's a miracle we don't have the game in novel form.

Sleep cycles+wards and Delta were easily the most impressive in execution, to the point that I had to stop and laugh and go over previous scenes in my head and laugh about it

>>343616861
During VLR kept me in a state of unresolvable discrepancies. I knew part, or hints of a twist, but I didn't have the whole context and I didn't know how to resolve the inconsistencies at the time. Like Clover being young, but Tenmyouji looking for Akane. I thought he might be Junpei, but then why is he old and everyone else young.
ZTD had a bit of that, mostly with Phi and her parents. I figured that Team D was a family, but I didn't know how it worked out.
VLR and ZTD's twist each had a foundation of an earlier game, while 999's twists were a bit more stand alone, so there wasn't any discrepancies between the information I was given and truth.
>>343617079
>aside from the ending

>Why does he need to if the player is there?
The player isn't a character in the universe, the player is playing as Diana, Sean, or Carlos. Zero alters their decisions to set the clockwork for the ending. It requires a multitude of different experiences including ones where he dies. This is why characters will say "I didn't do that" but not mention it when doing the "right choice".
>Yes, but that could easily explained as people making decisions of their own.
It's seriously just Zero doing trial and error, knowing that in some timeline he will succeed.
>But never hinted at in ZTD. Many-worlds theory could be just as valid.
It's valid because you're not playing as you, you're playing as the characters. It's still player-input.

Sleep cycles/wards and phi's parents were predicted by /v/ back in April so that wasn't very impactful.
Sleep cycles/wards and Delta reveal didn't really affect the story in any meaningful way in my opinion. Honestly, Delta could have been holed up in a surveillance room the entire time and it wouldn't be really that different from the story we have now.
>>343617391
Unless I'm forgetting some other "Dual Screen" twist
The upside down display for the puzzle was seriously my least favorite thing about 999, it just struck me as an abstract way of conveying the morphogenetic connection between Junpei and Akane. If it was supposed to be impressive or emotional or surprising then it failed miserably in my opinion.

I don't understand why someone necessarily has to die when your body does. There are infinite universes, and infinity plus one equals infinity, right? So the consiousnesses just continuously jump, right?

He's been there the whole time you just never get to see him. The characters in Q-team are fully aware of his existence
"imagine this computer with infinite realities being processed within it, if someone could operate such computer... 61404091, keep this number in mind"
>Holy shit, Uchikoshi is a genius, the player is operating such computer, the number is the password to the Door of truth in the alternate timeline!
>mfw it was just the password to open Q's helmet, and it was revealed right away
>a totally pointless thing since we already knew Q was a robot
Goddam this game...
>>343617859
There are hints here and there, you can see his shadow in some cutscenes. Don't forget that no one seems to mention Sean by name and that when Q is mentioned to be dead no one specifies a kid.
>Zero Escape 4
>Start the game
>You get shifted to a timeline where you die instantly
>Reloading the game just gives you more death scenes
fund it
>>343617559
I agree with all the points you made. But doesn't that mean, from a story perspective, that the characters sometimes make different decisions with the same knowledge in the same environment, as seen in the final decision?
>>343617859
It's contrived, but whenever the characters talk about "Q", they are referring to the old man. The robot boy is called Sean, and was never known as Q apart from in the promotional material for the game.
>>343617601
>>343617638
>>343617660
Is it easy to play through, though? Like, I don't want to watch the same cutscenes and not be able to fast-forward/skip them
>>343617859
the "Q" known by the cast and registered in the X-pass system is Delta/Zero, who is always offscreen because he's feigning being blind, deaf, and dumb. He's dead weight to Q team and thus he's ignored
All implications that robot Sean is Q are deliberate to throw you off
>>343617859
I realized the reason for this later, but I was annoyed during the library seek because whenever I would turn the camera, it was actually moving in a circle rather than just rotating. Obviously that's where Delta was sitting, whereas on other teams, they could simply have been moving around.
They pretty much just ignored him after a point since they didn't feel he was important. Honestly seems pretty reasonable to me. They did mention him a few times, after all. But it's not like they expected him to help.
>>343617970
>zero escape 4
>actually set in the DBZ universe (carlos blue aura)
>get is set around finding the dragon balls to learn the identity of the fanatic
>>343618016
More-or-less. The whole theme of the game is about decisions and how we seem to just try all of them so we can get all the endings. Now, at the end, there's a new origin point as opposed to a dead end. The choice may not matter, since there is now an infinite number of new possibilities that are possible.
Phi is a B-cup *at most*, right?
>>343618119
She's a D-cup! Why would she lie?
>>343618119
Yes
C-cup pregnant
>>343618048
You can fast forward previously read text in both and R11 has little/no repetition in it
>>343618119
She just dresses modestly
>>343618048
Once you beat the game, then when you replay a section you have already done, you can fast forward through all text. And any puzzles you've already done are also super easy, you can skip certain parts of the rooms even if you know the right codes and stuff like that. You might end listening to similar dialogue on different routes, but that's pretty minimal
Also leave the thread before you get spoiled
>>343618119
she's wearing bindings, she's easily an F-cup.
>>343618119
Yes. I can't believe people take her seriously when she claimed hers are C and D in VLR and ZTD respectively. Sigma was clearly being sarcastic at VLR.

Because I was arguing against

>>343618241
Something that particularly triggered me aside from the usual bullshit was Diana walking right into the incinerator shortly after it erased all that trash including a screwdriver and other metal shit and destroyed it all without a trace and then picked up a tiny little piece of metal with her bare hands and rolled it around in her palm. Even assuming there is a good reason the metal still exists how is it not searing her flesh?
>>343618349
That's the goal
You were confused in the exact way that Uchikoshi intended
>>343617560
Some of the cutscenes (unintentionally?) used the bad animation to make some moments much funnier

I am not, in-fact, that anon.
>>343615457
imo
999 > ztd > vlr
but ztd and vlr are really fucking close
vlr had more shitty moments but i felt like the twists were better executed and aside from the blatant cliffhanger ending they wrapped up a bunch of mysteries
i enjoyed my time a lot with ztd but so many things just went completely unanswered
like wtf happened to the aliens and why was gab just randomly killed

999 on Vita and PC is cool. But how are they going to do the 2nd screen? Just scrap it like VLR on Vita?
But the 2nd screen in VLR was Sigma's robo eye.
>>343618827
yeah its open to interpretation and let the characters have a choice for themselves or whatever
but really what was the point of even showing that cutscene
at least the cinema files elaborated a tiny bit
>>343618827

>>343618576
Well shit. Completely agree with your view on the player and Zero btw.
>>343618901
The could just split it up like an emulator but it would be pretty suspicious.
>>343618297
Akane. She is so cute!
>>343618901
I hope they don't just scrap it since it's so important for the tweeest. I guess they'll have to find a way to implement something similar naturally, but it'd be difficult to pull of I imagine
>>343618910
The point is that the choice doesn't matter at this point. It's the origin point of the "save the human race" timeline. Zero says it himself, he created a timeline where Radical-6 is not released but a possibility of 8 billion casualites exist. By creating more espers he now has made a timeline that has an infinite number of possibilities to stop the extinction from happening.
>>343618901

>>343618480
This. Her ZTD makeup would look godawful with red hair though.
Carlos for top husbando though.
Finally finished it, Not great but it got the job done. I really feel like this game would have worked better if it wasn't a direct sequel to vlr. The twists would have packed more of a punch and would have kept you on your toes a bit more.
Also my waifu is a !
>>343619275
In VLR there is a safe in each puzzle room with two codes. One for unlocking the exit, and one for bonus files. The codes are stored in your files and can be revisited on consequent playthroughs, so instead of powerplaying through the mini-games you can just enter the password and be done with it.

OFF-TOPIC
Carlos and Sigma had best VA, right?
Anyone else disappointed with the Radical-6 explanation?Like the location had nothing to do with why Radical-6 was there, and it is almost singlehandedly spread because of Mira jabbing someone with a syringe for shits and giggles. It's really dumb that it entirely hinges on an obsessive emotionless killer to completely abandon their MO, despite having killed over 18 people the same exact way for a specific purpose over the course of years and even in this game still wants to kill so she can remove a heart and understand emotions. Doing that with Radical-6 does NOTHING for her obsession.

Kojima letting people know he’s not “a gay” (Jesus Christ, really?), and doesn’t want people to get the wrong idea just because he’s wearing a rainbow-patterned New Order T-shirt. By itself, this tweet comes off as homophobic, but others have claimed that Kojima’s tweet is an answer to questions of whether he was homosexual for wearing the rainbow-patterned shirt, to which I’ve found no evidence. Still, earnestly informing people that you’re not gay because of how a T-shirt looks is pretty gross, but it could have been grosser. I can think of analogies to show how problematic this way of thinking is, but it just makes me feel worse.
Even if someone can come up with apologia for the homophobic tweet, there’s still this transphobic shit in the Policenauts game he wrote and directed before he did Metal Gear Solid, anyway

She's worst girl, that's why.
The post-game epilogues reveal that in this final timeline, Carlos' sister recovers from an illness and also gains the ability to jump between timelines. Carlos has become a brother figure to Akane and Junpei, who are to be married, and the three of them vow to stop the religious extremist. Mira has turned herself in for her killings and married Eric, but Sean breaks her out of prison so that they can use the transporter to stop Mira from committing her murders in the past. It is revealed that the 1904 version of Phi is speculated to have become a researcher who studied the transporter well into her 100s.

It can -technically- 'fit' into one other spot, but it leaves such a wide strip of white it's impossible for any piece to fill the narrow 4-5 spaces of it, leaving the upper left the only place it could be
knowing that, it means that the construction of the upper right can only go one way as well
it's the lower left/right that tend to absolutely fuck people up afaik
>>343622227
I think one of Junpei's X-codes was Quark, I liked that
So I've never played this franchise before but it seems interesting.
I've a hacked 3DS as I assume the game is on 3DS aswell?
Or should i just go for the steam version?
>>343622303
That cloaked bit was really badly done. I mean, who has black fingernails in this game we've seen several times now?
So how did Delta know about these alternate timelines in order to set all these things up?
>>343622360
Don't play this one first then
get 999 and VLR and play them in that order, THEN get ZTD
>>343622402

>>343622140
Yeah, I got that instantly, how they were numbers.
Did no one else have any trouble with the transporter room?
>>343622360
You're really going to want to start with 999 which MUST be played on DS. No exceptions. I played through VLR on 3DS and it was great. However, ZTD was a little rough on 3DS. There is a major drop in the quality of textures and you still experience severe frame drops at times. And that's on a New 3DS.
>Gab isn't walking to the other wards he just eats his cheese then sleeps on a blanket for an hour before wandering out to repeat the scenario
Fucking lol
>>343622402
mindhax
>>343622421
you can play VLR before 999, you can even play ZTD before 999 but not VLR
>>343622191
kek. Now that you remind me....
>>343622360
Play 999 and VLR first, and try to not get spoiled.
Seriously, Zero Time Dilemma won't make much sense without playing the other ones, and even if it does it spoils the other two heavily for firsttimers imo
>>343622386
Yeah and you can hear the clacking of her heels when she walks away.
>>343622402
Literally mindhax
>>343622481
He was Mind Hacked all along!
>>343622421
>>343622482
But to do that, we would've had to met someone who knew about everything that happened. Which does not fit the bill for any of our heroes.
>>343622437
Transporter room drove me nuts. I had to bust out post it notes to sort that out. Worst room was the Reactor for me because I couldn't see how the smelting worked. Once I figured that out it was cruise.
>>343616861
The Moon twist was made even better with the DIS DA FUTURE reveal. That's my top pick
>>343622437
Naw. Comp Sci major so number conversions are extremely common with binary and hex. Math after converting came very easily for me. I DID right it all out on the memo pad though.

1) Literal shadows from Delta in most Q team scenes (here are the shadows from Pop-off, for example).
2) "The old man in the wheel chair" dialogue
3) If you try to select "Q" in the "who to shoot" scene, it will say to select Q's real name. If you input "Sean," it will give an error. If you choose "me" or "myself," the game will say "you cannot commit suicide." - Credit for expanding this goes to overchargext
4) If you say that "Q" killed Mira, Eirc will say "that's impossible!," and if you select "Sean," or "me," he'll say "I knew it was you!" - credit for expanding this goes to Ro9ge
5) "The truth is invisible" anagram
6) The parasite discussion
7) Carlos/Diana not knowing why they pressed the decontamination button, or the bad execution choice (mindhacking). Sean never claimed he didn't do it, as he can't be mindhacked.
8) The anagram about the 10 that Akane finds
9) The scene after the radical 6 is chosen to not be injected where Eric talks to Gab and calls him "Old man," he is actually talking to Delta. Both Eric and Mira are looking to the screen (to Delta), and Sean asks if they could speak. - Credit goes to untuned of the Something Awful Forum, and to Ro9ge for elaborating.
10) Q never has a portrait in the status screen, but there is one of Sean inside the Study - Credit goes to YoshiOfYellow of the Something Awful Forum
11) "Even Q ... he couldn't see or hear when" (when talking about Q team execution) - Credit goes to voltcatfish of the Something Awful forums)
12) Sean in Pop-off says "you are all really important to me" rather than "you both are really important to me," despite the fact he only knows Q team.
13) When Akane/June transport to the VLR timeline, Zero reveals that he has a little sister
14) When Zero tells Sean about the "old man" who visited him.
15) Eric says "I know the leader's supposed to decide who to vote for but...", because Delta is believed to be blind and deaf
>>343621926
Just to be clear, Delta deliberately says he let her free roam the facility and didn't inject her with any amnesia drugs.
>>343622307Someting about Akane in 999, can't remember that was a longer time agoSigma is old in VLR, sends his mine back in time for ZTDPretty much the end spoilers of ZTD, who Delta is etc
It's my own fault for not telling my friend to shut up, but it was an interesting story to hear about. Now I just don't know if it's worth playing through.
>>343622437
I didn't have trouble with the transporter room but I thought thatthe numbers on the 10 sided shapes had to be multiplied instead of being directly the number, I didn't find a way of getting the number I wanted so I just went online and used a base-10 to base-13 calculator.
>>343622524
>>343622481Why did Delta shoot Gab in the second to last timeline?
>>343622360
Emulate 999 on PC or on 3DS if you can first.
Pirate VLR on 3DS next then Pirate ZTD on PC last.
Get the fuck out of here before you get spoiled.
The game relies heavily on plot so if you get get spoiled might as well skip the fucking game.
Was there ever a puzzle in this game that was more bullshit than the Q-room's dice puzzle?
Overall, did you guys think the puzzles were easier in this one?
Fuck the flow-chart unlocks, though, those were some obscure bullshit with how you should see all executions first.

yeah, emulate 999, LEARN ABOUT THE SAVE BUG IN VLR, then play ZTD.

16) Eric is suspicious of Sean because he isn't on the X-passes - Credit goes to Ro9ge
17) If you try to shoot Mira, she will shoot twice before the X-pass notification comes on, because she also shoots Delta - Credit goes to Ro9ge
18) Despite the fact that Carlos seems to know Q, he doesn't recognize the robot that looks like Sean - Credit goes to zatchel1
19) Towards the end of the C-team ending, when listening to the recording of Zero, Zero specifically says that he's dead in this timeline, and that Carlos executed him. This is also the timeline in which all of Q-team dies because Carlos decided to execute Q team. - Credit goes to Ro9ge
20) After Phi and Delta and delta are born, the status screen shows Q and Phi alive. Status before birth and status after birth - Credit goes to YouWithTheFace
21) Decision game starts with "deci," which means ten - Credit goes to ultramario1998.
22) When Sean decides to stay behind after pressing the Decontamination button, he is staying behind for Q, and it becomes clear with close examination that Q is also chained, and Q is the one staying behind. Sean is looking at the Camera (at Delta) when he says that he stayed behind because of him. And when they try to unchain Q, they are always trying to get it off the pole, and not off Gab's paw. Here is an image that demonstrates this.. - Credit goes to Ro0ge, and BloodTrain for the image.
23) In the ending of the VLR timeline, Sigma asks "a child?" When he sees Sean's corpse, despite the previous indications that he knew Q was handicapped in another scene. Q doesn't show up as dead in the status screen. - Credit goes to Thisisalsomypass
24) Generally, throughout C and D team fragments, they indicate they know Q at least somewhat, despite the fact that if you win the coin toss, it is revealed that no one seems to know Sean. - Credit goes to Ro9ge

For shock value
>>343622628
3 got me good.
After learning of Sean I was really confused why it just gives an error.
>>343622590
I'm on to you, complex motives
>>343622727
That doesn't make any sense. The players the collective Morphogenetic Field and Delta (who has consciousness from it like every other human) was the means for the player to affect the choices in ZTD. So Delta never mindhacks himself. He deliberately killed Gab and the reason is never really given.
so is left the brother that delta refers to as not being related by blood? i need to revisit dios ending in VLR to do some fact checking.

What I meant was that a hacked 3DS cannot play DS games without a special "jailbreaked" cart, you cant simply download DS games and play them.

It was like 3 am when I was there and I was tired of bullshit. Fucking aliens.
