Sigma said his SHIFT was cut off when D-Team was being attacked by the white cloaked assailant (Delta or Mira, presumably). I don't recall that being a thing that could happen. Was it brought up and I missed it or just a random line that could have probably been cut?
Why did SHIFTing out of the exploding base and effectively killing their alternate selves start such a huge argument when they've been doing it for two games now?

I looked every now and then, and there were a few puzzles I just said "eh, fuck it" and looked up a solution (Transporter, control room, etc. Mostly so I could beat the game). I beat the majority of the game without it, though.

Played it all the way through, non-stop until I got the true ending. Didn't use a guide because 1) there probably weren't any, and 2) I didn't want to get spoiled.

Put the pieces' X over the X in the boxes, you can't let the pieces overlap with each other. Start with the biggest ones with the oddest shape since they only have a small number of spots they could fit in, and just work your way down to the smaller/more uniform ones.

The puzzles in this one are the best out of any of the games. Griping that they reused the X puzzle is a little silly when the puzzles overall are the best in the series. We got quality over quantity.

For me, it has to do with everything about the twist.The fact that he was offscreen the entire time, nearly unacknowledged by his teams members; that he is Phi's edgy twin brother; that he's 124 years old, and yet still spry; that he needed to kill 6 billion to save 2 billion to save 8 billion; that he could not stop repeating the words MIND HACKING and COMPLEX MOTIVES; that he had a hilariously smug attitude; that he killed Gab because he's a dick, and so forth.
Individually on their own, these things wouldn't be too bad. But adding all these elements up led to a single bumpy package that really could have been wrapped better.
So what's the verdict?

You can. It takes some effort, but you can mostly eyeball which ones are the start of a route, and which are continuations since it almost always rotates, there's paths where you don't need to worry about checking another team's fragments, and some of the fragments' shapes are distinctive enough that you know they don't happen until later.
Doing this, I was able to play every path chronologically except for the few times you're locked and forced to come back later.
