Is there a way to NOT have steam use my wallet for a purchase?

I have like 2 euros in my wallet that I like to use for buying trading cards and shit. I don't want to use it when I buy games.

Steam apparently wants to force me to use them and cover the rest with another payment method and I don't want that.
>>
I can't buy the Skyrim Legendary Edition (with the remaster) because I have no credit card and is a bundle and can't be gifted..

If I buy the normal one + DLC, I qualify for the Skyrim Remaster?
>>
>>343233057
why not? there are giant gaming shops that barely make a buck because of online discounts so they sell all the stock they have

either that or they simply sell everything to one of those marketplace traders

Feel free to rate this shit. Still debating on Rocket League, as im not a fan of footbal/racing games and also dont have friends to play it with.Heard its fun tho. Any suggestions?
>>
What can I get with 10€?
>>
>>343233267
Yes they are, my bad.
When you say building games that's what comes to mind, what you're describing now seems more like Rust, Ark, The Long Dark etc. which are survival/crafting games.
>>

I haven't played either, but ever time I've seen this asked it's always a unanimous Attila

it takes like 20-50 minutes to go from character creation to setting up your first settlement

You just follow the main story bit before the bomb drops, leave the vault, talk to robo butler, go to concord, rescue the nerds then follow them back to sanctuary (where your house was before the bombs dropped)

Some settlements are unlocked through side-story missions but you can completely ignore the main story mission for as long as you want.

Also if you're not into leveling or finding materials you can just toggle god mode in console to have infinite building resources
>>
>>343233448

>>343233871
unless you have a certain affinity for one of the settings I'd just get Shogun 2
>>
Bought Stalker bundle, Witcher Bundle, subnautica

I'm think of buying some other games, but I have some questions:

if I were to buy just one Total War game, which should it be?

Is The Phantom Pain worth it for a gigantic fan of MGS? I've already been spoiled over the story, and I can look back and laugh, my ptsd is almost gone.

Can I just skip Just Cause 1 and go straight to 2? Should I just skip em all and go straight to 3?

Is Far Cry 4 the same old shit as the last 2 games?

And, finally, why the FUCK is Xenoverse DLC so fucking expensive? each dlc is like 11 canadian duck dollars, and they add nothing

Do you have Ground Zeroes? If not, get that and see if you enjoy the gameplay. If you didn't like GZ don't bother with TPP. If you did like it, TPP is just GZ but less focused and with more content.

The plots in the Just Cause games are completely expendable. Haven't played 3 so I don't know how much more fun it is, but JC2 is great for the price

Whats that robot smash brothers game that half of /v/ keeps shilling whenever someone is looking for coop games?
I guess I'm looking for coop game recomendations.
>>
>>343236658

Risk of Rain is fun. There are 5 or 6 levels, but the replay factor comes from different classes and tons of items. It can be pretty tough the first few times due to inexperience with classes and powerup knowledge. At the price of a cheeseburger, it's definitely worth it. If you don't like it 90 minutes, just refund it.
>>
>>343236765
Yes. They're not too obtuse outside of a handful instances and the humor/setting makes it engaging. Don't be afraid to use a guide if you're stuck, it's a part of the genre as a whole.
>>
>>343236658
It's absolutely worth it if you have friends to play with, not so much by yourself. It's a side-scrolling shooter rogue-lite where you move through increasingly difficult stages, trying to balance gathering resources with the fact that the difficulty increases over time.
>>
ANY GOOD SPOOKY GAMES?

Question for anyone:
I got skyrim as a gift but never played it, tried ESO very briefly (it's shit). The elder scrolls shit is on sale - what would be the best game to play through for someone who never has? I'd prefer an emphasis on freedom rather than being confined to a linear story and don't care if it's ugly or old.
Or is Skyrim my best option since I already own it?

Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are all fine, but there are tradeoffs.

Morrowind absolutely has the greatest freedom, role-playing, and depth, but the actual gameplay can be a little clunky. It can take some time to get into, but it's rewarding. Skyrim is smooth, sleek, polished, and about as deep as a puddle. It can be pretty fun for casual adventuring where you don't really have to think about character builds or anything, but the lack of depth makes everything pretty repetitive and the roleplaying aspects are awful. Oblivion is somewhere in between and it feels much more "sandboxy" than the other two due to level scaling and being able to travel to every city in the world from the beginning. It has a fantastic expansion.

tl;dr: Opinions, play whichever appeals to you.

>>
>>343237030
Honestly, most people here would probably say Morrowind, but I'd say go ahead and try out Skyrim first. If you enjoy it, then go back and check out Morrowind and Oblivion. They're all good games in their own right, that focus more on exploration of the world you're in, rather than forcing you into a linear quest line.
>>
>>343237292
steam version of deus ex is completely fine. make sure to get gmdx v8.0 for a better experience
>>
>>343237195
If that exists, then sure, the PC version is probably fine. I don't know if anyone has made HD texture packs for emulation or anything. The default 30FPS in the PS2 and PC versions is pretty awful for the combat system, though, so definitely look into a 60FPS patch.

>>
>>343237030
Most everyone will tell you Morrowind is the high point of the series, but the mechanics are hideously dated and you might find yourself wrestling with them to keep on playing.

Honestly, I'd recommend Oblivion to start the series off. It has the comfiest atmosphere, lacks the mechanical restraints of Morrowind, and once you're out of the intro dungeon you're free to tell the main quest to dick off and just start wandering, and you should.

You already have Skyrim, so you could start off with that one, but it's a downgrade in most regards from the previous games and I've just never felt myself wanting to play it again after quitting out. Also, it feels like ass.

Morrowind is kinda clunky, but absolutely brilliant if you can look past that. With some graphic mods (MGSO and that compilation if you can't be bothered to find single visual mods) it looks sexy as hell too. It also has great mods; read a guide, there's no problem modding it on your first playthrough.

Oblivion unmodded is a pain in the ass due to the level scaling and potato faces, but with mods it's probably the best of the three. As before, refer to a modding guide. The RPG elements are still okay, but not as dominant as in Morrowind. The quests are not as great overall as in Morrowind, but it has a few 10/10 quests. Magic with mods is awesome, if you're a warrior theres great mods for melee combat, and if you're a thief there are mods for that too (even making it Thief-esque). Its expansion is 10/10.

Skyrim with mods can be a great game, but it's really shallow. There's almost no RPG elements, the quests are mostly shit, and the combat is worse than in modded Oblivion.

XCOM2 might be better than XCOM 1, LISA is good, and TLD is still in Early Access but gets updated and a LOT and has had constant stream of updates. Currently as a survival sandbox it's pretty great, and they added some challenges which are pretty damn fun too.

Oblivion is fucking great when you mod it.
/v/ went from hating it to loving it as people here have to be contrarian, but the fact is that modded Oblivion is better than Skyrim in literally every single way. It doesn't beat the RPG elements and fantastic design/lore/atmosphere of Morrowind, but it's better in everything else.

However, be advised that modding Oblivion can be really difficult, as it's prone to get perform bad and crash.

Well, the dungeons felt more Zelda-like in 1
2 integrates some RPG mechanics like different weapons with different stats, armors and things like that.
Also, playing as War is closer to playing a STR class, while Death feels much more DEX-fag like.

In any case, if none of that makes sense then bottom line is that if you liked 1 it's very likely you will like 2.

It's a sale so I assume they're busy but probably you'll get a refund before the sale ends. I've usually gotten mine within a day or two.
>>

Usually a few days. I've done one Steam wallet refund during this sale and it went through the same day and then took another couple days for the money to hit my Steam wallet, and I just did (Like an hour or two ago) a Steam refund toward Paypal and the refund went through and the cash hit Paypal at the same time.

Makes no fucking sense that the Paypal refund was faster than the Steam wallet refund, but whatever.

>>343248845

Total rundown of shit I bought during the sale and have looked at so far:

Huniepop: Not really worth it, but it was cheap and I bought it anyway. Tolerably fun. Tits are extremely boring, even uncensored. Some of the dumb writing is amusing but there isn't much of it. Puzzle Quest or just regular-ass Bejeweled is way better.

Mordheim: Controls like ass. Gameplay seemed reasonably ok. Returned due to assy controls, may re-buy because Amazon price matched and I have Amazon credit. Still unsure.

CoE4: Still completely fucked like CoE3. AI players kill themselves regularly in the early game. Not dealing with that shit for $12.

Civ Beyond Earth Rising Tide: Changes enough stuff that it might make Beyond Earth tolerable. It at least feels different from "Worse Civ5" now.

Organ Trail expansion: Why did I buy this.

Thea the Awakening: Pretty cool. Not super enthused about the gameplay but it's unique and interesting and I'm reasonably pleased with it.

Pixel Dungeon: It's not a particularly good roguelike but on the up side it doesn't have shitty metagame grinding like Dredmor/SotS the Pit and it was cheap. Also free on mobile where it's arguably the only playable mobile roguelike, buying it on PC was more my way of throwing the dude a few bucks for playing it on my phone once in a blue moon.

Nothing knocking my socks off.

burnout
>>
>>343254595

It's functional, but scrolling through a million deployment spots and placing my dudes one at a time made me sad. The jiggling men around so that their balls don't touch also irritated me far more than having a defined square/hex/whatever system. Not to mention hitting Q-E to scroll through actions instead of just having actions hotkeyed to shit.

It wasn't unplayable by any means, it just really irritated me after playing a couple missions. It's also why I'm considering picking it back up with Amazon funny money. The gameplay itself seemed fine (Though it might be a bit slow and grindy for my tastes, hard to judge that on a couple hours) so if I grit my teeth and get through the controls I'll probably like it.
>>
>>343254992
I've done similar but I don't believe it was ever the entire wishlist, I thought I remember it just being the top 5 games. Also, I don't think there's been any raffles like that ever since, they just did it when wishlists were still relatively new to encourage people to use the feature.

>>
>>343255119
>scrolling through a million deployment spots
The worst aspect of it, I have to agree, but you very quickly get used to it. Once you get the first guy in position you can kinda use him as a reference point and it's super easy to just slap down all the others after that.

>defined square/hex/whatever system
On the contrary, I prefer a turn-based game not having the arbitrary, game-ified grid/hex movement system. Besides, Mordheim/Necromunda never operated with anything like that, so it'd be unfaithful to the tabletop to implement such a system.

>Not to mention hitting Q-E to scroll through actions
Only a real problem with spellcasters, easily ignorable.
>>
>>343255149
> they just did it when wishlists were still relatively new to encourage people to use the feature.
that opened my eyes a little

Valve didn't give away games on wishlists as a good thing to do for the community... They did it to make people put games on their wishlist to create a datapool of what people want.

My perception has been shattered so easily...

Of course, they're a business. They always have been, they even used shit like TF2 and CS to rope people into using Steam, then ditched making vidya pretty much entirely to just keep milking Steam. Now, PC gaming is entirely dependent on what was just a simple distribution platform.

I was in the same boat at first, but after I played around with all the classes it really grew on me. Also had to shake some TF2 preconceptions from my mind, like thinking the dwarf was a TF2 engi. His turret is a lot weaker and more disposable than engi's, you drop that shit somewhere and hammer it to tier 2 and then run around shooting people and mostly leave it alone. Babying it and repairing it constantly is just a good way to fuck your team, unlike a TF2 engi nest.

Only thing about that is I'm not sure if a couple of my friends toaster pc's could even handle it. One of the fuckers could have probably upgraded but spent that cash on buying a motorcycle and modding his car, the fuckin normie
>>
Was there a bigger discount for Darkest Dungeon than its current 40%?
>>
>>343256325

They kickstarted it but haven't put it out yet.
>>
I bought my GTX 1080 which hasn't shipped yet, my vive which is sitting in a drawer until the 1080 gets here, and now I'm straight up broke.

Can't spend another five bucks til the 1st. Hopefully I'll be able to get in on some summer sale deals and stock up on some VR titles and grab (Todd's fucking game) Fallout 4 while it's 50% off.

I'm skipping meals to buy games.

Are you gifting here now anon?

I already have the regular sleeping dogs, probably one of my favorite single player games, is the definitive edition worth it?

never played a fable or risen game (though I have most of the games on my account), and the rest just look mildly interesting for the prices. am I being duped anywhere?

descent + roguelike elements

If you enjoy those two you can't go wrong with the game

I've got $3.45 to work with, maybe a little more when I sell some cards.

Give me some suggestions.

No, the answer is always no with Sleeping Dogs. I dunno how they could seriously fuck up a "GOTY"-style edition that much.
>comes bundled with a ton of xp, overpowered cars and outfits right from the get go
>ergo, ruins the game for people who are buying/playing it for the first time
>only adds in two extremely short, relatively shallow pieces of DLC content
>ergo doesn't add enough extra content for people who've already bought/played the base game

Okay tinfoil hat man, stay safe from all those big bad people who can just do so much damage to your Steam profile.

Is there a way to sort by release date? I want some retro/old stuff.
>>
>>343253401
$15 version or nothing.
The game is awful for long term play anyway.
Gets boring real fast in my opinion. Pretty similar to what my other friends said about the game.

Basically; its """only fun with friends""" for a short amount of time.

He probably needs it anyway.

Whoa I just noticed Manhunt is not available in the Australian store!
I had it on my wishlist back when I was in the UK but held off for the next sale. It's dirt cheap too, how can I get around this? Anyone willing to gift it?
>>
>>343253401

Good lord.

Alright, I want a Strategy game that's not Dawn of War, Total War, CK2 or EU4 or Age of Empires. Historical setting preferred not required.

>>343257753
Thanks anon, but it's not really my bag.
>>
>>343258464
Tabletop Simulator is good if you find something you like and have a decent group to play with. The community can be shit if you play with randoms. It's a bit Russian Roulette.

Rabi Ribi is pretty good from the amount I played..

Torchlight 2 is okay.
>>
>>343259092

How's about you add me >>343257782 and I give you Men of War Assault Squad GotY edition. No gay shit required in exchange.
>>
>>343258585
Bought it and played with my brother.
Comfy as fuck.
But couldn't get as big as a clan's base.
And that unbearable PVP.
>newbie can build a storage box and use it as a stepping stone to jump into your house area
>your dinosaur's head will "poke" through walls and become anybody's target

If you're playing it alone, Don't buy it, Ever.

You might be too bored to play through the DLC of Borderlands.

I know I was after I did Dr. Ned's DLC
