Every now and then i get myself a game that i play through in the space of two nights. I stack up on beer, chips and all that shit and just chill and play the game, taking my time.
Previously i have done this with:

So what i'm basically looking for is a good-looking and sounding game which is also fun to play. It definitely helps if it's also atmospheric and "short-enough" to playthrough in two 6-7 hour runs. The duration time isn't really that big of an issue though.

I played it through in the space of tree winter nights, in a dark room with my head set on. I remember really enjoying it. But that was like almost 10 years ago.
Good shooter, with "spooky elements" and the possibility to kick a guy in the face in slow-mo. Definitely worth the look. The games soundscape is nice, though the visuals are bit outdated.
Pretty sure the sequel is good too, but the third one is a co-op game.

I don't know why everyone recommends Crypt of the Necrodancer so much. It has a neat little gimmick, but as far as roguelikes go there are WAY better ones. The music-based movement is kinda neat, but gets old after a while. Frankly, I just find it to be really stressful and annoying. I'd much sooner recommend Nuclear Throne or Enter the Gungeon (and TBoI: Rebirth/Afterbirth, although anyone interested in roguelikes should already have it).

Not him, but you do get "new" characters for replaying it, but they're mostly just the default character with challenges put on them, IE "you can't get hit or miss a beat" or "you have to move at twice the speed".
I wouldn't recommend the game unless you want something that's ball-bustingly hard without any real reward. It's fun at first, but after a while, unless you're REALLy dedicated, it just gets old and too stressful to really bother with, knowing there's no real reward for your efforts.
I'm assuming Witcher 3 and both of its expansions is worth $50? I've largely somehow ignored the game until now, and I think I'm ready to dive in.

Risk of Rain has a lot of good unlockables. If you don't already have it, it's a must-have.
Nuclear Throne has a bunch of unique characters, though they're kinda easy to unlock. Though, for a beginner, it could take a while to unlock them. There's also alternate skins and golden weapons to unlock, plus a bunch of secrets. It's an excellent rogue-like in general.
Isaac has tons of unlocks, but if you're a fan of the genre you probably already have it. In the off-chance that you don't, get it.
Enter the Gungeon has tons of unlocks, but not in the characters department. There's one unlockable character and it takes a while to find him. However, you can unlock shops and stuff at the entrance of the dungeon, as well as tons of new weapons.
Rogue Legacy has a sorta skill tree based unlocking system. you can unlock new classes, as well as some shops at the entrance of the dungeon, and passive abilities.

Grid 1 people say is the best for the following reasons.
Grid 2 without DLC is apparently not that great because after a certain point in the campaign stuff it gets unfair or something.
Grid Autosport is apparently just overall bad in comparison to 1 and 2.
In conclusion, if you don't mind putting out the extra $10 Grid 2 seems to be the better choice, but just for straight up buy on the cheap Grid 1 is your game.

As for the driving, this might be a longshot, but Beam.NG drive might be what you're looking for once it gets a little more developed. The various cars can be customized in lots of different ways already, and they're supposed to be creating a career mode where you buy a junker with very little money and fix it up in order to compete in races and other challenges. Then, you use the winnings to upgrade your car or buy new ones.
This isn't implemented yet, but what's there is fun.

Yeah you should get it. Not quite same feel as the first one, the first one is more subtle with it's joke and it fits the "pandora" setting better. 2 is more jokes, brighter setting and more content. I liked some of the skills, the open world is nice to walk for a while, and the nemesis system is pretty cool, I don't recommend buying for a full price, I got a physical copy for like 75% off so in my opinion it was worthy.

Dawn of War games are perfectly fine to start, Dawn of War 2 plays more like Company of Heroes, Dawn of War 1 is closer to a standard RTS.
Games workshop whores out the license to just about everyone though so there's some stinkers. Anything that's in a genre you like and has mostly positive reviews should be fine.

Warframe can get kinda stale if you want to keep grinding for a specific part, but overall shit's the best F2P game right now.
For someone who isn't all that big into racing games, how's Burnout Paradise or Distance? I'm leaning more towards Distance because it seems to have a more active online community with a heap of custom content. But I've heard good things about Burnout.

Remodeled characters look like shit, shiny new graphics take the life out of the game, minigames ruined, menus fucked up, cutscenes still in 240p, some sounds interrupt each other or dont play at all, plus some shit that is arguable. TLC already runs at modern resolutions
It was always meant as a cashgrab and now the original isnt discounted because they want to sell this instead of the other for $2.5 like it always was. The only redeemable thing is the new difficulty which is just no resurrection phials and taking some extra damage.

Game of the year edition is not a great starting point to be honest. Its only benefit over other warhammers is campaign mode, but 70% of campaign is turtorial and the remaining 3-4 missions are easy even on hard. There's only one campaign that focuses on one faction.
It's also the version with least factions.
Winter assault has more interesting content and better difficulty but it's short and there are still unpleasant unfixed bugs that can fuck you over.
I cant recommend GOTY or Winter assault to people who don't already love franchise.
Pick up Dark Crusade or Soulstorm instead.
Soulstorm is more recent, has most factions and a slightly more active modding community. Both have world map campaigns (think total war)
Dark Crusade has arguably better world map campaign but i always felt that world map is shit in both Soulstorm and Dark crusade. Skirmish mode and story (citadel) missions are the only parts of both games that worth playing and people ported citadel missions from DC to soulstorm anyway.

Burnout for the open world racing, Distance for the soundtrack and cyberpunk.
I'm really hoping that the Distance devs implement a mode like Trackmania, otherwise that game is not going to make it for long.
Currently, in multiplayer, if a person finishes a map he has to watch the others try to finish the map themselves. There's no time score race, no repeat, just watching idiots/beginners/afk people not finish the map by them self. It's a pity.
And instead of adding content or modes, they flesh out the editor in the hope that users will fill in the large gaps.
Too bad, I really like the game actually, but after 10 hours I got bored.

2 and its expansions have mostly linear story campaign with gimmicks like infestation(danger) or chaos corruption managment (minor world map elements, a bunch of rpg elements) and randomly generated side missions. Retribution or Chaos are both better than 2, but are direct sequels.
