Also just the sheer amount of environments you go through and the cool intersecting campaign feature which, even though it wasn't implemented the best, was still a really cool idea that I don't think was ever tried in a game before. No one seems to care about it, but I thought it added a sense of depth to the story, like "these stories are all actually happening" because it reminds you that other players are currently going through another campaign when you meet them at those points. Overall it was just a very ambitious game.

So I am convinced the kitchen fan does something because the shadows on it are fucked up. Notice the wire dangling from it and the bulb have shadows floating right next to them.
The only objects in the game that have fucked up shadows are moving objects like doors or the axe.
It would also correlate to the helicopter picture and what the apparent devs are hinting at about looking near the kitchen table and at the helicopter photo.

P.T. was far scarier. The fact that it was mostly randomised, or seemed to be anyway, added to a lot of the tension. Being completely alone also added to this. Plus P.T. is just straight up bizarre.
