It's a possibility. Nobody knows what happens behind closed doors. Kojima is known to copy things. MGS1 ripped off what made everything about the MG2 fun. He said in an interview he followed basically to the letter about all the 4th wall breaking quirks in the Metal Gear Solid 1 from Metal Gear 2.

Chances are that the whole door thing was a glitch. A lot of games have assets like that, they're loaded unto the main map and will be the sets for the cutscenes.
You're trying to look for secrets where there are none, the fucking boards have nails going INTO the door when its there, why would they still be there when the door disappears unless it was a graphical glitch? The video shows the guy answering the phone, but not getting family'd, which some people are already chucking up to being a glitch in and of itself (walking backwards to avoid Jack.)
