What's most interesting about the glitch room is that it has a light, meaning that there is a purpose for the room. If it was just empty I'd just say it would be meaningless, but the fact they put a light in there means that it was expected to be seen.

Depends on how the scripts are implemented, if they are interpreted at run time then yeah there should be human readable code lying around but otherwise you get into decompilation territory. And in some engines (Quake 2 IIRC) the engine has its own VM with its own bytecode in which case parts of the game's code couldn't be decompiled without serious reverse engineering or leaks from the developer.
