Nice, I've never tried PS2 emulation before, but now that I recently gotten a new rig that's probably capable of it I'll have to give it a shot one of these days. The Outbreak games, Survivor, and Dead Aim are pretty much the only "canon" RE games I've yet to play.
That reminds me, is Resident Evil Survivor and Dead Aim as bad as people say they are? I plan on emulating those games eventually, but it would be nice to have a better idea of what I was getting into.
Oh, and what are the current known endings of the demo, and how are they triggered? I've only done a single playthrough so far, I watched the tape, opened the back door, and got welcomed to the family.

After the continuous loop through the same hallway there is a point where the only way to get to the next stage is to do something with a phone and then when you hear a baby laugh you have to say something in to the microphone and when the baby laughs again you can leave. No one would have guessed this. It was dumb luck that some Streamer on the PSN was talking away and she didn't even hear the baby.

I dont have a ps4 but I noticed during the VHS sequence that there might need to be important timings for when you need to walk and where, Andre looks back towards you once outside and also says "after you" after kicking in the door, which to me signals that you must walk ahead of him and stay between the characters as they are walking into this house. lots of streamers are just not being careful with their positioning and timing during this sequence.

Now THAT I can get behind. I loved Condemned because you played as a fat Mexican-American who couldn't even lift his legs over police tape quickly. Every enemy felt like a threat and that last level on the farmhouse? Amazing.
It all just felt so grounded and real. Especially having to manually check how many bullets you had left. I love that game.

If you use the lockpick on the drawer and then press start and stop the VHS tape early, you can get the axe without triggering the note moving and the key spawning.

The game and the demo are two separate entities. The demo is made to be jumpscary and hard to complete entire to build up word of mouth. It is built to be exactly what PT was.
The official game for all we know could be Resident Evil but first person. There will be guns and ammo conservation, there will be zombies, there will be puzzles, there will be horror. Or there will be none of it.
Crying apocalypse simply because the demo teases plays a certain way is a terrible way to approach this game. You can be concerned but to simply assume its not going to be anything like Resident Evil when all we've seen so far is this 10 minute teaser is retarded.

If people are still having trouble getting the axe, here are some instructions.
Go into VHS world, look at the floor behind the microwave. There is a lockpick on the floor between furniture. Use the lockpick to open the locked drawer on the other side of the room. When you get out of the VHS scene, either by completing it or ending it early by pressing start, the axe will be in the newly opened drawer in the present time.

What we do know, is that it appears at certain locations during the VHS cutscene. It does not seemed link to timing of the npc dialogue, but most likely connected to character location and movement of player camera.

I started going through the trailer, frame-by-frame.
The first minute there doesn't appear to be anything (except a clear photo of the ghost, who definitely looks like she's infected with some variant of the T-Virus), but at 1:07 I found the pic related. This is only there for 2 frames and is not really noticable running the trailer normally.
